dachiwater: MC Galaxy who made headlines this week for various reasons, has disclosed that he used to dance at burials before his big breakthrough came. According to MC Galaxy the 'Sekem' dance has been with him for long, and he performed the move at burials and even in the market. Speaking to Saturday Beats, the singer said;
“I used to be a comedian and a dancer; I used to dance everywhere, at burials, and even in the market. I have been doing the ‘Sekem’ dance at comedy clubs before I produced the song.
“I would still explore comedy by going into acting but I won’t do stand-up comedy again. Music pays me better than comedy. I have not really had challenges in my musical career; my first song was a hit. My advice to young artists is that they should remain loyal to their helpers. Disloyalty is really affecting the up-and-coming artistes. They shouldn’t listen to other people’s opinions. None of them has ever been disloyal to me though.”
Why won't they be crucified. Am sure you can't phantom the type of terrible things they do wherever they go abroad especially Igbo people even though am Igbo myself
The Chairman, Nigerian Railway Corporation, Mallam Ibrahim Al- Hassan, said the coaches were shipped in from China to start passenger services from Lagos to Ibadan as the laying of tracks had reached 152 kilometres out of the 156-kilometre stretch.
Al- Hassan, who made this known during a project inspection at Ologun Eru, on the outskirts of Ibadan, on Thursday, said the two tracks would be completed by the end of July.
“The tracks have been laid up to 152 kilometres. It remains four kilometres to complete. The second track stops at 140 kilometres. I believe by the end of July, both tracks would be at the Ibadan station. We want to complete this as quickly as we can,” he said.
He explained that once the tracks were completed, the focus would be on other ancillary works such as the ongoing construction of stations and level crossings.
Al-Hassan said, “We want to complete this (track laying) as quickly as we can so that other ancillary services could continue and we could put the tracks to use. Laying the tracks is the most important part. Once we have the tracks from Lagos to Ibadan, then when you look at the stations in Lagos, the ones in Abeokuta, they are already making progress.
“By the time we finish laying the tracks, we would be able to move passengers from Lagos to Ibadan. Then the intermediary stations can come up later. We can have temporary stations if we need to.”
According to the Managing Director, NRC, Mr Fidet Okhiria, more coaches and locomotives will be procured to start operations on the Iju-Ibadan corridor while work continues on the Lagos end up to the Apapa station.
He stated that two coaches got to Papalanto on Wednesday and that by July, there would be further inspection of another set and test.
“We hope that by September more locomotives would come,” he added.
Okhiria said the corporation would use the temporary stations to operate the service from Lagos to Ibadan.

“My concern is the independence of this arm of government. That is not to say we must not work with the other side (Presidency).
“I see a dangerous thing coming. The only thing that makes democracy different from military rule is the Parliament. We need to ensure the independence of the Parliament.
“If we take away the Parliament, what we have is not democracy. I am one of those that were controversial in the last four years. Within the process, we may have offended one another. I take nothing personal.
“This institution is very important. Let us protect the sanctity of the parliament. This is the Nigerian Senate. There is no APC or PDP Senate. This is the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“We will continue to support the other side but we must work at all times to protect the sanctity of the institution of the parliament. We must continue to enhance the sanctity of the Senate at all times.”

Lagos – Alhaji Biliaminu Mustapha, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Epe area of Lagos, has described Governor Akinwunmi Ambode as one of the best governors Nigeria has ever produced.
Speaking with Daily Independent, Mustapha said Ambode’s Four years in charge of governance in Lagos was an eventful one as he achieved what some state governors couldn’t achieve in eight years.
Specifically, he said Ambode’s four years was better than the eight years spent by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu from 1999 to 2007 in terms of infrastructure, reduction in crime rate as well as other key sectors.
“I think the governor should not have any regret about not getting a second term because he has achieved a lot during his four years reign. As Muslims, we believe nothing can happen without Allah’s permission. Maybe Allah wants Ambode to serve just for one term and he just used the leaders who opposed him as the instrument to make that happen”.
“Ambode did a lot in just four years things many governors couldn’t do in eight years. To me, I think his four years as governor is better than Tinubu’s eight years in terms of revenue generation, Infrastructure and reduction of crime rate across the state”.
“Like Fashola, he will be useful to President Muhammadu Buhari at the national level,” he said.
fergie001: The Nigerian Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, has accused the International Association of Athletics Federations, IAAF, of ‘blackmail’ after the body gave Nigeria an ultimatum to refund the money it was paid in error.
The federation said Nigeria was overpaid by $130,000 in 2017 but the country’s officials have rebuffed all efforts to get the money back.
Nigeria must now pay back within days or be sanctioned, the IAAF said.
In a letter sent to the president of the AFN, Ibrahim Gusau, and signed by the IAAF Senior Manager, Governance, Jee Isram, the body said the AFN was contacted immediately the anomaly was noticed on March 18, 2017, to refund the sum of $130,000 that was wrongly credited.
“Failure to receive the funds back within that period, we will have no alternative than to apply appropriate sanctions against your Federation,” it said.
Analysts have expressed outrage at the delayed refund, and have accused the sports ministry of denting the nation’s image.
Instead of repaying the money and ending the embarrassment, officials have been trading blames and refusing to speak on the matter.
A former member of the board of the Athletic Federation of Nigeria told PREMIUM TIMES that the sports minister, Mr Dalung, authorised the disbursement of the money.
Speaking at the 2019 Okpekpe Road Race held on Saturday in Edo State, Mr Dalung questioned the claims made by IAAF, claiming that Nigeria did nothing wrong.
“I think Nigeria has been unfairly treated because the issue has been painted and promoted as if there was any wrongdoing on the part of Nigeria,” Mr Dalung said.
“Certainly not, grants were released to Nigeria on the 17th of May 2017. IAAF on the 19th confirmed the transaction; those from IAAF after two months turned round and cried foul that it was a mistake.
“I smell rat in the whole thing and I believe that the whole thing has been orchestrated in an attempt to blackmail Nigeria,” the minister told journalists at Saturday’s race.
He continued: “Even when we went into it, we were not even convinced what the mistake was, is it a mistake of Nigeria or that of IAAF?
“When did they realise they made a mistake when the transaction was confirmed? I made a mistake in transferring money… I realised within 10 minutes and I called my bank and I retrieved the money. Why did it take IAAF two months to realise a mistake? An international organization, highly reputable?
"I think it is not about money erroneously credited to Nigeria, but there is a calculated attempt just to diminish and destroy Nigerian athletics, otherwise, I don’t see why they call it a mistake. We didn’t apply for a grant.”
When asked what the country will do at least to save it from possible ban as threatened by the IAAF, Mr. Dalung stated:
"Ban us for what? What has Nigeria done? What is the crime? Did we steal money from them? Did we ask them to transfer money to us?
"They transferred money to us, they confirmed the transaction to us, then after two months, they woke up from slumber.
“Is IAAF telling us they are as much disorganised as that? Where Nigeria is wrong, Nigeria will own up but you cannot wake up and just realise that they have something to hold on to. We are not even convinced that there is any mistake, the money was sent for the golden relays and it was done. Are they saying there was no golden relays.
“I think those promoting this are trying to cry blue murder; I think they are just enemies of this country and we should ask questions,” the minister concluded.
