yns4real:
The presidency has just circulated the statement below announcing the placement of 50 high-profile Nigerians on travelling restrictions.

The individuals, whose identities were not disclosed, include those whose assets, valued at N50million and above, are subject of corruption investigation and litigation.

The statement by presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, said the measure is part of the implementation of Executive Order Number 6 which seeks to ensure “that all assets within a minimum value of N50 million or equivalent, subject to investigation or litigation are protected from dissipation by employing all available lawful means, pending the final determination of any corruption-related matter.”

Mr Shehu added that the financial transactions of these persons of interest are also being monitored by relevant agencies to ensure the assets are not dissipated and that such persons do not interfere with, investigation and litigation processes.

READ FULL STATEMENT BELOW

STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

PRESIDENT BUHARI DIRECTS IMPLEMENTATION OF EO 6 IN FULL FORCE

Following the instant judicial affirmation of the constitutionality and legality of the Executive Order 6 (EO6), President Muhammadu Buhari has mandated the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Minister of Justice to implement the Order in full force.

To this end, a number of enforcement procedures are currently in place by which the Nigeria Immigration Service and other security agencies have placed no fewer than 50 high profile persons directly affected by EO6 on watch-list and restricted them from leaving the county pending the determination of their cases.

Also, the financial transactions of these persons of interest are being monitored by the relevant agencies to ensure that the assets are not dissipated and such persons do not interfere with, nor howsoever corrupt the investigation and litigation processes.

It is instructive to note that EO6 was specifically directed to relevant law enforcement agencies to ensure that all assets within a minimum value of N50 million or equivalent, subject to investigation or litigation are protected from dissipation by employing all available lawful means, pending the final determination of any corruption-related matter.

The Buhari administration reassures all well-meaning and patriotic Nigerians of its commitment to the fight against corruption, in accordance with the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the general principles of the Rule of Law.

Accordingly, this administration will uphold the rule of law in all its actions and the right of citizens would be protected as guaranteed by the Constitution.

We, therefore, enjoin all Nigerians to cooperate with the law enforcement authorities towards ensuring a successful implementation of the Executive Order 6 which is a paradigm-changing policy of the Federal Government in the fight against corruption.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie has faulted the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for allowing its Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, pick Peter Obi as his running mate.

Onochie maintained that the prayer of Nigerians was responsible for PDP’s mistakes.

She stated that the opposition party first made a mistake by picking Abubakar who she described as “prince of corruption” as its Presidential candidate.

In a tweet, she insisted that the party made another mistake by allowing Abubakar pick Obi.

“What is wrong with PDP? Nigerians don use prayers scatter dem.

“PDP chose Prince of corruption as their flag bearer.

“PDP has now chosen Gov. Peter Obi, a man who took PDP to the 3rd position behind APGA and APC in Anambra. Chai, everyone knows Gov. Obiano is Gov Obi’s husband.”

President Buhari is reportedly expecting the resignation of Minister of Communications, Alhaji Adebayo Shittu, who failed to participate in the NYSC scheme after his graduation from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Osun State.

According to Punch's sources, Adebayo Shittu who was recently disqualified from participating in the APC gubernatorial primaries in Oyo State because he had no NYSC certificate, was told by to do the “needful” by President Buhari.

The source further stated that President Buhari had made it clear that the minister did not have to wait for him (the President) to act, before doing the proper thing in this instance.

“The truth is that the President has made his position known to the minister and there are witnesses.

“What the President said was that people should not be waiting for him to act the way he did in the case of a former Minister of Finance (Mrs Kemi Adeosun) before they do what is needful.

“I am sure he is very clear on the matter the way he addressed the issue, and the minister understands this" the source said.

However when the Minister was contacted and asked if the President had asked him to do the needful on the matter, Shittu said, “I am hearing that from you.”

State House Press Release

Obasanjo's Endorsement Of Atiku Will Not Distract President Buhari

The Presidency has received the news of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s predictable U-turn and somersault on the endorsement of the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar, at a meeting Thursday, and to say that we are the least surprised by the well-rehearsed theatre.

They will lose together. Listening to the prepared statement of the former President after the meeting showed the usual ego trip and “I know it all” character of Chief Obasanjo.

In the first place, we dare to say that a pompous statement from the former President advising Nigerians on a vote against President Buhari is the best recommendation that can come at this time.

It also betrayed a lack of understanding of today’s politics which is about good governance.

The country voted for change in 2015 and a leader that ensures good governance which only President Buhari and the APC can provide.

Bent on these laudable goals, we will not allow ourselves to be distracted.

We are busy on various national issues including the restructuring and the diversification of the economy, fighting corruption, terrorism and other threats to national security; increasing the availability of electric power, improving education, health, and providing long-delayed infrastructure – roads, rail, airports and so forth.

Many governments have come and gone, but they did not care about some of these projects.

We were talking about these things for sixteen years under the PDP and nothing was done.

President Buhari is proud of his record because his achievements are verifiable, while that of the PDP is manifested by the devastating social and economic impact of large scale corruption during their governance.

The President will not relent in the war against corruption because the ordinary people are the ultimate victims if we surrender to corruption and let its perpetrators go unpunished.

Abandoning the war against corruption is not an option. President Buhari is in this battle against graft because he cannot allow a few, rapacious, and selfish class of the elite to divert the resources meant for the well-being of the ordinary people to their private pockets.

Nigerians trust President Buhari in this effort because they are convinced he is not in government for personal financial benefits, or for an ego trip. It is just eleven years ago that the former President and Vice President in their ugly fight for power accused each other of corruption. Nigerians are yet to forget all that.

President Buhari: Anybody That Jokes With Nigeria's Unity Has A Problem With Us

President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday in Abuja declared that the Federal Government is ready to contend with anyone who is against the peace and unity of Nigeria.

''Anybody that tries to joke with the unity of this country has a problem as long as we are alive,'' President Buhari said while receiving Eze Abdulfatah Emetumah III, the Offor of Umuofor Kingdom, Oguta LGA, Imo State.

The President told members of the delegation led by the monarch, who is also the Chief Imam of Oguta that his main objective of serving as an elected public office holder is to make the country better.

''Our single objective is how to make Nigeria better and we will never get tired,'' he said.

President Buhari, who thanked the delegation for identifying with the progress made so far by this administration in moving the nation forward, assured them that their well thought out recommendations on engendering unity in the country would be considered.

In his remarks, Eze Emetumah commended the President for demonstrating his love for Nigerians and Nigeria through purposeful leadership in the last three years.

''Your Excellency, from birth you have a mission for Nigeria and you have demonstrated this in your career as a soldier, Minister, Head of State, in PTF and now President.

''You have fought for the unity of this nation and its enemies, we know very well that you won’t tolerate anything that would affect its unity and our collective existence,'' he said.

According to the royal father and cleric, it is noteworthy that under the present administration, ‘‘dissemblers like Boko Haram and other anarchists have tasted the bitter pills.''

''In agriculture, today locally produced rice has outnumbered the imported, while critical infrastructure especially Federal roads across the nation have improved and are still improving''.

stephenduru:
A former Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Electoral Matters, Barrister Mfon Udeme has been shot.

Barrister Udeme who is a  staunch supporter of Senator Godswill Akpabio resigned his appointment last month and defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC)  was shot in the early hours of Thursday.

The attack may not be unconnected with the recent revelations by the former aide published in major national newspapers that over 200 aides of Governor Emmanuel were set to desert him in the build up to the governorship election in 2019.

He was also quoted as saying that as a former Special Assistant to the Governor on Electoral Matters he had known that Governor Udom Emmanuel had no electoral value.

Barrister Udeme, who resigned last month as the Governor's Special Assistant on Electoral Matters, dropped the hint in a press conference  on Wednesday in Uyo and was shot on Thursday.

Udeme, during the chat, said: "within the next few months, Udom's Government House would be a sort of ghost town as over 80% of his aides have all perfected plans to abandon Udom's administration."

Udeme, a former Chairman of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area blamed the mass exit on "the Governor's maltreatment of the aides and blatant show of unserious attitude towards matters of genuine development of the people of the state."

He said most of the remaining aides have decided to go after suffering in silence for more than three years.

He said having done a thorough assessment of the political situation in the state as the Governor's Special Assistant on Electoral Matters, he has found out that Governor Emmanuel lacked the electoral value needed to win a second term.

Udeme advised Governor Emmanuel to concentrate on finishing his term and forget about wasting time on campaign for second term to avoid a disgraceful defeat at the polls by the All Progressives Congress (APC), which has overwhelmed the PDP in the state.

The first time I saw them here in Ogoja, my heart melted, I was livid. And my mind wandered, searching for the closest guess as to why a whole family, husband, wife, and three beautiful children would be plagued with INSANITY.
WHY!

My heart could not contain the curiosity, then i began to ask questions. Anytime I drove past them in a car or on a bike, I engage the driver or someone in a conversation about them.

I have seen them trekking long distances underthe scorching sun, I've also met them in the market making enquiries about where they could get a particular item to buy.

They're never separated, always found walking together, complete family. But the intriguing part is their communication. Jeez! This "MAD" family speak CORRECT QUEENS ENGLISH. They flow in CLEAN grammar. Na this one dey burst my head.

I've heard the man instructing one of his children who was walking sluggishly behind him as they trekked down the road; "Hey Dorcas, will you hurry up, C'mon girl, meet up with the pace". And I marvelled.

At the market he asked someone for directions and he went; "Hey ma'am, Pls where can I get this and this."

As you can see their dreadlocks is twisted, showing that it has lasted for God knows how long. This means that this madness nor be today. E Don tay!

A conversation ensued between him and his wife one day and it turned into an argument, people were listening; you'll be so shocked when you hear what the content of their argument was'.

President Muhammadu Buhari's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has posted what seems like a reaction to the news of former President Olusegun Obasanjo's endorsement of Atiku Abubakar, presidential flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the 2019 general election.

Atiku visited Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Ogun State
capital, on Thursday afternoon. After the meeting, which held behind closed doors, Obasanjo said he had forgiven the former Vice- President, stating:

"From what transpired in the last couple of hours or so, you have shown remorse; you have asked for forgiveness and you have indicated that you have learnt some good lessons and you will mend fences and make amends as necessary and as desirable.

" However, minutes later, at exactly 4:15pm, Adesina tweeted:

CrimeRe: US Based Nigerian Lady Scammed Of N450k By Fraudsters, See How They Did It. Pics by foreshore(m): 8:11pm On Oct 10, 2018
CastedDude:
A Nigerian man has taken to social media to lament after his sister based in the United States was scammed by fraudsters. It was gathered that the Nigerian lady who lives, works and studies in California was duped her a total of $1300 (over N450,000) which she sent via a first bank account in Nigeria.

Below is the story of how the Nigerian lady was duped as shared by Remi Adeoye.

My sis said the guy sent her Facebook friend request and went on to start sending her some messages. She cautioned him and even blocked him for about three weeks. She later decided to unblock him only for him to send her a message shortly afterwards. She asked him whom he was and he introduced himself as Desmond Akunwa from Ugwashiuku in Delta State.

He claimed to be living in the same state with my sister in the United States. He told a lot stories and claimed he was single He said he was interested in my sister. He equally claimed he was working with a company in California

He later brought a woman from Naija into the picture, claiming she was his mother. The supposed mother started calling my sister very regularly and they later brought a little girl of six into the picture too. The girl according to them was a child from a relationship he had when he came to Naija and just slept with the girl and got her pregnant. That the lady died while giving birth and the small girl now lives with his mom

The were always sounding so religious and pious

The woman was already talking to my sister like her daughter in-law. Too many stories. My sister asked the guy that they meet and he accepted to visit by 10th of this month. He claimed to be building house in his village and was sending his mom money for the house He said he sent some money to his mom for procuring tiles for the house and the mom went and withdrew the money on Wednesday.

Then on Thursday early morning, the mom called my sister and was crying that armed robbers came to their house, carted away the money, shot their gate-man dead, shot the small girl and made away with her car. She said the girl was bleeding profusely and needed to be rushed to the hospital. Mean while the guy had earlier claimed to be going on a training program outside his state of residence sent him by the company where he works and that he won't be very free because of the training.

I told my sister to let me know of any move she is making with the guy so I can advise her and we had been doing it that way. I told her they might be scammers but let us see where they were headed Even when she told me of the Armed robbery incident, I quickly alerted her that it was a pure scam. That this is their usual pattern. I warned her very strongly not to send any money.

But they continued pressuring her with the issue of the little girl's life being at stake, and the guy crying to her to help him send them the money that he would refund her when he came out from the training program. She later sent them the money into a Nigerian first bank account they gave her. They were even asking her for more money but she got angry and now told me a little about the more money and I warned her strongly not to yield. And she didn't send more money.

Since then both the supposed mother and the guy have stopped calling her. The guy only sends text once in a while.
I asked her to tell the guy to refund her the money because she has emergency. The guy agreed but subsequently stopped picking her calls.

I feel bad because I encouraged her to give the guy a chance. I said so because I really want her to get married and she has been having wrong people coming into her life for too long. But I equally warned her not to do any financial dealings with them without letting me know.

It appears as if juju was involved (although I don't so much believe in juju). She said she was very restless when they were asking for that money because of the little girl's life being at stake, that it was after she sent the money that she then realized what she did.

The guy's fbk name is Akunwa Desmond.

We have two foreign numbers he was using, his supposed mom's Nigerian number, the first bank account number that the monies were transferred to, and the little girls photograph.

CrimeRe: Human Trafficking; 8 Ghanaian Women Intercepted At Lagos Airport. Photo by foreshore(m): 8:06pm On Oct 10, 2018
CastedDude:
The Director-General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP), Dame Julie Okah-Donli, has described the 2017 law put in place by the Republic of Ghana, banning the external migration of women especially to the Middle East, as commendable and a course of action that can be adopted for the prevention of young African women from falling prey to human traffickers and cheap labour merchants.

The DG stated this on Wednesday at the NAPTIP Lagos Zonal Command, during the formal handover to the Ghana High Commission, for safe repatriation, eight Ghanaian women intercepted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, by Officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on Monday 8th October, as possible victims of human trafficking.

The NAPTIP Boss, who was represented at the handover ceremony by the Head of Operations at the Command, Mr. Taiwo Waheed, formally handed the women over to the Head, Consular, Ghana High Commission, Hussein Adam Amandi who was represented by the Second Secretary, David Ako Sowah.

NAPTIP’s preliminary investigations revealed that the ladies, who are between ages 24 and 34 are possible labour migrants, six of whom have previously worked in Kuwait, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia, from whence they returned to Ghana at the expiration of their visas. Prior to their interception, the women reportedly left Ghana and arrived Nigeria with the aim of boarding an Egypt Air flight to Cairo, then proceed to Kurdistan, Republic of Iraq.

The links to Kurdistan were reportedly made by their Ghanaian Agents who had convinced them of great opportunities in Iraq. The women were unable to give traceable information about the Nigerian agents who linked them at the Airport for further investigation which hindered their possible arrest by NIS.

The representative of the Head, Consular, David Ako Sowah, expressed the Ghana High Commission's appreciation for the level of cooperation and good working relationship between the Agency and the Commission.

The interception of the women is in tandem with a law passed by the government of Ghana in 2017 which puts a ban on the external migration of Ghanaian females as part of efforts to protect them from falling victims of human trafficking and other dehumanizing practices prevalent all over the world.

This is contrary to earlier reports in the media which stated that the intercepted women were human traffickers. Preliminary investigations has revealed that they were possible victims of human trafficking and exploitation, bearing in mind the various reports of exploitation being faced by young Nigerian and African girls in domestic servitude in the Saudi Arabia and other Middle East countries.

They have also been successfully handed over to the Ghanaian authorities for further actions.
