A serial rapist was apprehended after reportedly defiling a young girl in Lagos. It was gathered that the girl suffered bruises and tear in her private part after the act by the rapist.
The girl couldn't talk or eat after being raped as she was taken to the hospital for treatment.
It was also disclosed that the rapist was summoned by the community leaders who forced him to confess and also accept his punishments, one of which is to make a public apology in the village square next week.
Facebook user Olorunfunmi Adebajo Olafimihan, took to the platform to share the news. Below is what she wrote;
Thanks to Stand To End Rape, we are providing counselling for the girl. She went with her counsellor and Sam to the Mirabel center for medicals. She has a tear in her v@gina, bruises all over her body and abrasions to her wrists. She's neither eating nor talking. Her mother will be counselled too (why would you beat your daughter for being raped!)
After a 3 hour discussion with the Baale, youth leaders and other community men, we extracted a statement from him.
The final verdict is in his statement as seen in the photo below. The public apologies will be done next Friday at the village square.
We can't involve the police (yet) because it's a community steeped in culture and tradition. Everyone is related to everyone else so the family of the girl is not really pushing for justice. We decided that it has to be a punishment agreed upon by the entire community else our safety would be at stake.
We have threatened to involve the police (and indict the community as enablers) if they don't fulfil their part of ensuring he complies with the punishment.
The other girls in class thanked us profusely. A serial rapist is finally being shamed.

Yesterday, the Ondo state police command arrested 22-year-old Togolese cook, Sunday Anani, over the murder of his boss, Chief Opeyemi Bademosi, a socialite and chairman of Credit Switch Technology.
Chief Bademosi was found dead in the pool of his blood by his wife, inside their home in Parkview estate on Wednesday, October 31st.
Anani who is the prime suspect in the murder of Chief Ope Bademosi, was arrested at his hideout in Ondo State yesterday, October 2nd
In a video posted online, Sunday alleged that some persons, believed to be assassins, came to their home on the day of the incident and killed the deceased.
''I am not the one that killed him. About four people entered the house that morning. They passed through the front door and opened the kitchen door.
Immediately I asked who is that. They blew my face and neck and then started to drag me on the floor.
They asked me where was chief? I used to call him Oga. So I asked them who be chief? I told them Chief is inside his room. They said where is his wife? I said his wife had gone out. They told me if I don't say the truth, they would kill me. They blew me again and immediately I pointed to Chief's room'' he said

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has hired Brian Ballard, a top US lobbyist, ahead of the 2019 elections.
The influential lobbyist has President Donald Trump as one of his clients. Politico Magazine, a top publication in the US, says Ballard is closer to the US president than perhaps any other lobbyist in town.
“He’s parlayed that relationship into a booming business helping clients get their way with the Trump administration — and his clients and even some of his rivals say his firm has a better grasp of what’s going on in the West Wing than almost anyone else,” the magazine said in a report.
“Ballard was one of the top fundraisers in the country for Trump’s campaign and continues to raise millions for his reelection campaign. Wiles, one of his top lieutenants, ran Trump’s campaign in Florida and delivered the nation’s biggest swing state to the president.”
Documents seen by TheCable showed that Nigeria’s main opposition party has agreed to pay $90,000 (N31.5m) to Ballard on a monthly basis throughout the duration of the contract.
TheCable understands that the contract which was signed on September 21, 2018 is for a year, meaning Ballard would rake in close to N400 million from the deal.

“This agreement shall automatically renew for successive one-year periods on the anniversary of the effective date of the agreement unless either party terminates the agreement. Upon renewal this agreement may be terminated within thirty (30) days written notice by either party.
“Duties of the firm. It shall be the Firm’s duty to consult with the Client and advocate on its behalf those issues the client deems necessary and appropriate before the US Federal government. Issues and objectives may include, but not be limited to, enhancement of US Nigerian relations; strengthening and advancing democratic values and the rule of law in Nigeria, with a special focus in the coming months on maintaining political and security conditions free of intimidation and interference in order to ensure the success and fairness of Nigeria’s national election for president in 2019. It shall further be the Firm’s duty to inform the Client of developments in legislation and policy relevant to the Client’s issues and objectives.

A notorious thief who lures his victims mostly ladies and steals their mobile phones in the process, has been apprehended in Delta state.
According to reports, before the suspect's capture, his modus operandi was to lure girls to his house after sweet-chatting with them on Facebook.
After meeting the victim, the suspect who is said to come from Benin, Edo state, will pretend to be checking out the girl's phone before vanishing into thin air.
It was gathered that had been his style before he was busted.
When a search was conducted after his arrest, about 28 mobile phones were retrieved from his possession.
The suspect has been handed over to the police for possible prosecution.

It has been reported that some armed robbers, on Tuesday afternoon, stormed a Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) branch at Bode Thomas, Surulere, shooting a customer.
According to Nigerian Tribune, it was gathered that the incident occurred around midday while people were on queue to use Automated Teller Machines (ATM) at the bank premises.
The armed robbers, who rode on a motorcycle, were said to have dispossessed the man and another woman of their money before shooting him.
Eyewitnesses, who took to social media to lament about the incident, accused the police of responding after the armed robbers had left.
“The man who was shot was approached and asked for the money he withdrew from the ATM. He refused to hand over the money and that was when he was shot. The robbers mounted a bike and sped off.”
One Ruth, who said her mother was at the bank at the time, faulted police’ silence on the fleecing of the gunned man and another woman.
She wrote: “My mum came home and was telling me about a robbery that just happened at the GTbank in Bode Thomas, where she was and how someone was shot. I am just thankful to God that she came home safe and sound.
“They (police) did not mention that the said man and a woman were robbed, why downplay it?
“Imagine the nonsense, if it is to be stopping people on the road to ask for license and tinted permit, they no go carry last.”
A resident Mavrik, who claimed a police station was four houses from the bank, said cops did not show up until the robbers had fled.
“Police Station, Bode Thomas is about four houses away from GTB. They did not show up until it was all over and the robbers had gone, they now came around forming rambo,” he wrote.

Earlier today, the minister of transportation, Rt Hon. Rotimi Amaechi was quoted to say that Nigerians should not just sit to read about constructions site alone, he advised Nigerians to go to the site, take pictures and see things for their selves.
According to him, “In a couple of months, Lagos Ibadan Railway will take off, it will only take you 50 minutes to travel from Ibadan to Lagos and with so much comfort. You can live in Ibadan and work in Lagos or vice versa…”
Well, as a responsible media organization who believe some much in fairness, we decided to link up with an engineer who is part of this project to get us some onsite pictures.
Nigeria had signed a contract with the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation for the construction of the Ibadan to Kaduna rail project, and the minister stated that the government was pushing hard to secure about $6.7bn loan for the project.
Amaechi said, “We’ve signed the contract but we’ve not got the loan. What is key is the loan, which is a bit difficult but we are pushing hard. If we get the loan, then they (CCECC) will start this year, because we are pushing hard. Honestly, it is one of the items I’m putting before the President for consideration.”

At about exactly 4:50pm yesterday the 21st October, 2018 we left the base(Airforce) for Rigasa to drop my kd moma's frnd who came to visit her. While on our way to the train station, we got stocked in the mist of the crisis (terribly). Approaching the huge number of them by the road(Muslims at Angwan ruwa express by Danapa filling, station) no u-turn and few of them came closer to the car and couldn't view us cos the car is tinted(you wouldn't believe that we forgot to put the car on central luck)the muslim guy beside flying officer Sani who was driving us was really curious to know who were in the car and forcefully open the driver side and immediately he opened and discovered we are Christians, he began breaking d glass and others standing from the other side all came on us (some with knife, matchets and stones) they began breaking the car on us and they also open my side and began to drag me out of the car but thank God i was on sit belt and also managed to hold d handle at upside of the car with my left hand and they couldn't succeed. Hmnn. Funny enough, one guy was struggling to drag out d driver but he was strong enough to use his right hand to change gear and immediately drove off with speed (thank God they where not with guns). We kept moving with speed crossing all the the road blocked and our car almost summersaulted plenty times and finally stoped in the middle of the road and all we saw was them coming on us again from all directions (hmnn). God decided to move the again and we zoomed off.
Approaching the road again.My God, there were more than 100 of them if I can count and there was no way we could hav escaped that crowd except we climbed them with the car to either survive or die but God sent an angel we can't explain. A young boy maybe 18-20year old boy standing by the entrance of their area (harmless) and the guy screamed (ku binan! Ku binan)meaning, follow here! Follow here and because we hav no choice we followed the road and the inhumans where still after us but d guy who directed us stop them (only God knows what he told them that they had to go back to the main road). This boy kept following us on foot directing us to only where God knows. Hmnn!
On reaching one house while still driving into the area, we met some men standing by their gate and they asked where we were coming from and going to and we all responded Airforce base. This good Samaritan Muslim family open there gate for us instantly(hmnnn). God bless their wives. They gave me and moma their jalabia(overall).
It didn't end there cos we thought we had escaped but naaaa, they were still looking for us and the only option was to jumpt into the next compound through the fence. Thank God the woman we were taking to the train station is also is a Muslim woman so we left her in the first house (only myself, ma Momi Mrs Kutan and Flying officer Sani the driver who is also a Christian)jump into the next compound through the fence. Hmnn, immediately we left they actually came and was asking for the owners of the car, she told them it belongs to her and they asked of the guy(Flying officer Sani) driving and they told them he went to mosque to pray cos it was almost 6:30pm. They left and came back to that same house again insisting they saw a lady with red skirt and long hair where has she entered cos we saw her in the car(Nanmeta) but they told them if only I haven't been killed cos I ran out of the car into the area immediately I discovered the place wasn't saved for me. Hmnnn, they entered the house searching for me everywhere but to no avail and they put teargass in the house and left Hmnn!
While waiting for the airforce patrol that were deployed to come and pick us after calling them, (thank God the cowards have gone to pray) even though we heard they said they will come after prayers to search every single house and everyone will do SALATI if not na die(hmnn). The God almighty use the man that first hide us to go get police men before they finished their prayers and thank God he brought them in good time and they took us out of the area and on reaching the main road at about 7:30-8pm, Airforce operation yaki were already at the junction trying to reach us that was how the police men handed us over to them and they brought us to the base.
Finally, Thank God non of us were killed.
We only sustain injuries from the broken glasses and the fence climbing.
To the glory of God we are strong and fine.

A Nigerian man has been arrested alongside two other migrants in connection with the murder of Desirée Mariottini, a 16-year-old girl found dead in Rome last week.
According to reports, two Senegalese nationals aged 26 and 43 were reportedly held overnight. A third suspect, a 40-year-old Nigerian, was detained yesterday.
The three are expected to be charged with group sexual violence, voluntary manslaughter and drug dealing. All three are reported to have previous convictions for drug dealing.
Police in Rome are still hunting at least one other suspect, local media reports.
The 16-year-old girl was found dead in a derelict building used as a squat in San Lorenzo.
Investigators believe Desiree was drugged and then gang raped while unconscious before she died.
Though the exact circumstances and cause of the teenager’s death are yet to be confirmed, an autopsy revealed that she had been under the influence of drugs and had been sexually assaulted.
An anonymous call was made to emergency services at 3am on the 19th of October, local media reported.
Flowers and candles have been laid outside the building in a tribute to Mariottini, and local residents have painted the walls with red hearts and the words ‘Justice for Desirée. San Lorenzo does not forget you’..

The meeting was held behind closed doors inside Kyari’s office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The meeting lasted about 30 minutes.
The agenda of the meeting was not made public.
Yakubu did not speak with State House correspondents at the end of the meeting. The Presidency also has yet to issue a statement on the meeting as of the time of filing this report.
The meeting was however held barely 24 hours after the electoral commission published the names of presidential candidates contesting the 2019 election and their details.
President Muhammadu Buhari will be seeking a second term on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The President, a former military ruler, had claimed in his details published by INEC that his credentials were with the Secretary of the Military Board.
Since the claim was made public, it has been generating controversy the same way it did when Buhari made the same claim ahead of the 2015 presidential election which he won. Some of his supporters had at the time said even if he presented “NEPA bill” in lieu of credentials, they would still vote for him against the then President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Jonathan lost that election to Buhari. But in the 2019 election, Buhari’s main challenger is former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of the PDP.

The Minister for Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has said former President Goodluck Johnathan only conceded defeat after the 2015 elections because he knew the nation would witness economic recession soon.
Mr Jonathan, before the announcement of the final results, in a move that shocked many political pundits, conceded defeat to the current president, Muhamadu Buhari, after a keenly contested polls.
That was the first time an incumbent would be losing the top seat (and conceding victory) to an opposition party in Nigeria.
Mr Jonathan has been celebrated globally for his action, which many believe saved the country from political turmoil.
The economy plunged into recession shortly after in 2015. The recession raged in 2016 and through late 2017 when the nation then emerged from it.
However, Mr Fashola, a former governor of Lagos State, said on Thursday at a South-west town hall meeting that Mr Jonathan only relinquished power because he wanted to avoid being at the helm of affairs during the recession.
The meeting was organised by the Minister for Information, Lai Mohammed, and held at the Emeritus Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, opposite University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Mr Fashola at the meeting also said the Goodluck government not only plunged the nation into recession but pushed it into debts.
”What was left behind were massive debts owed to contractors who had not been paid for three to five years and who had laid off thousands of workers and shut down equipment and plants.
”That was one of the reasons why the economy first went into, and, I suspect, one of the reasons they (Goodluck administration) quickly conceded defeat,” Mr Fashola said.

Fresh report by the Nigerian Army has it that a shallow grave where a missing major general, Muhammed Alkali, was buried after he was killed, has been discovered.
The army said the body was later exhumed and reburied somewhere else by the killers, according to the information provided to it by some of the arrested suspects.
According to the army, the shallow grave was confirmed by four independent sources in the community and also by sniffer dogs.
It was gathered that the shallow grave reports that there is a distance of one kilometre between the main road and the location of the grave.
Mr Alkali was the immediate past chief of administration of the Nigerian Army. He was declared missing on September 3 when he was traveling from Abuja to Bauchi State. He is believed to have been killed by his abductors.
On Friday, a major general, B. A. Akinruluyo, the General Officer Commanding, 3 Division, Rukuba Barracks, narrated how the shallow grave was discovered.
