@Goodboiyy I have always respected that but what do you say about the article below. No be me write am oooo. Yoruba Assembly tells Jonathan 0 BY OUR REPORTER ON MARCH 20, 2015 POLITICS From OLUSEYE OJO, Ibadan Yoruba leaders led by former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Alani Akinrinade (retd), yesterday, told President Godoluck Jonathan that Yoruba people would not accept an Interim National Government (ING), Government of National Unity (GNU) or any other form of unelected government. They demanded that this year’s general elections must hold as re-scheduled on March 28 and April 11, insisting also that the exercise must be free, fair, credible, and transparent. Yoruba leaders made the call at the Yoruba Assembly entitled: “Yoruba People: Our Aspirations and Minimum Demands from the Central Government of Nigeria”, which was convened by Akinrinade at Ibadan. A communique issued at the end of the conference reads in part: “Yoruba people hereby state categorically that the general elections scheduled to commence on Saturday, March 28, 2015 must not be postponed or jeopardised. Yoruba people will not countenance any form of unelected government, be it Government of National Unity, Interim National Government or howsoever described.” The leaders warned that the over 50 million population of Yoruba people would not hesitate to take their destiny in their own hands in the event of any attempt to compromise their democratic existence. The summit was attended by leaders of Yoruba nation, current and past governors of Yoruba States, traditional rulers and their representatives, officials of various civic and professional agencies of Yoruba extraction at home and in the diaspora. They include vice presidential candidate of the All Pprogressives Congress (APC), Prof Yemi Osinbajo; governors Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State and Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State; former governors of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Otunba Niyi Adebayo; a prominent Itsekiri leader in Delta State, Chief Rita Lori-Ogbebor; former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; and former military governor of Mid-Western State, Gen Samuel Ogbemudia (retd). The Yoruba Assembly also frowned on the protest staged by thousands of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) members and the Coalition of Concerned Nigerians loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday in Lagos against the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Attahiru Jega.. |

I started following this thread from page one till page 17 but by the time i opened the thread again, it was in page 27. And i could no longer catch up. However, i have my reservations concerning some issues that will bring about developments to the West. Hence, i see no need to comment or contribute on this thread. I still dey observe. But i can't just overlook the Ilorin discussion. Let me state it clearly. No inch of Yoruba land including Jebba and ilorin will be left out of Yoruba land i.e if Nigeria secede. I will give reasons tomorrow. I rest my case. scholes0:How do you know they do not want to be saved? are you referring to that time they connived with the Fulani's to destroy Oyo ile? Who are those people and where did they come from? Let it be know that Afonja was a first class citizen of Oyo Empire. He was the Are -Ona Kankanfo the supreme military commander of Oyo Empire. He was required to live in a frontier province of great importance to keep an eye on the enemy and to keep him from usurping the government. thus he was stationed in Ilorin to check the Nupes and this might also have something to do with the fact that most of the empire's soldiers and cavalry were stationed at Ilorin. You and i know that Oyo ile was sack and occupied by the Nupes for 80 years before it was reclaimed by Oba Ofinran, Alaafin of Oyo. Therefore, to defend herself against any future invasion by the Nupe's, it was necessary to create wealth through trade in other to establish a Calvary and maintain a trained army to withstand the common enemy. It was economically advisable to breed horses rather than buying from their perceived enemies hence Ilorin was chosen as the best place because of no tse tse flies. Then, the power of Oyo began to grow by the second half of the century, when the Alafin Orompoto began using the wealth derived from trade to establish a cavalry force and to maintain a trained army. But unfortunately, Oba Abiodun abandoned the policy of establishing a strong army for a wealthy but weak Empire. 'The increase of Oyo's wealth brought conflict among the political leaders; some desired to use the wealth for territorial expansion while others believed it is best to use the wealth to grow the wealth even more. A bitter civil war took place during the reign of alafin Abiodun, who after defeating his opponents pursued a policy of economic development based primarily on the coastal trade with European merchants. His sole focus on the economy weakened the neglected military, causing, in effect a weakening of the central government.' The Egba quarters was the first to leave Oyo for their present day site due to the disagreement on kabiyesi's policy. The bottom line is, Ilorin belongs to Oyo and it is part of Yoruba land. And if Yoruba secedes from Nigeria, we will not abduct Oba Abiodun weak policy that destroyed the largest empire in West Africa. |

Rossikk:You are on point, if we thoroughly evaluate Nigeria's development before and after Independent.Yes. Nigeria has developed beyond what colonia master left behind. What legacy did British leave behind rather than the railway they built to transport resources to their country? On the other hand, they came to Nigeria to exploit her, but on the other hand they went to SA with the intention of wiping away the native blacks and to build themselves a nation(annex of U.K). The same way they succeeded in wiping away the native black aborigines in Austrialia. Hence, the magnificent and impressive infracstructures in SA. What a great diservice to Nigeria. However, i am not blind to see and to say that SA has gone far in terms of development than Nigeria. Although, Nigeria in recent times, is also developing but to be truthful, on a snail pace. Understandable(but not acceptable), the millitary rules, corruption, tribalism etcetera is/has been the cause. For Nigeria to cas |

ADULTBASE:How is it the coach? The last time i checked, Keshi is no longer the coach. Or do you think Oliseh is not good enough? |

TonyeBarcanista:Ok na! Make una no just burn the country. |
Are APC supporters equivalent to APC, Buhari's government? Or when did Apc supporters(nairaland) become the voice of the Apc buhari lead government? Which Apc supporters are you reffering to? Don't you think it's your insinuation? |
TheGoodJoe: thanks. |
TheGoodJoe:You can say that again. |
korel9:I was also suprised he made the first team. What about Brym of Man city or what do you call him. |
onatisi:Well, the defence is obvious but the mildfield and wings looks more obvious. The couldn't feed Coasta with any through pass. Holistical speaking, chelsea needs to replace or buy some players. |
Mikel Obi came in from the bench at half time to play against West Ham. His club was trashed 2:1. |
Isaac Success was on the pitch for 81minutes in the match between Granada vs Real betis before he was substituted. The match ended 1: 1. |
Idion Ighalo was incredible for Watord against Stock City today. He strucked the post with a powerful header and later assisted with two goals to beat Stock City 2 goals to nil. |
Anthony Ujah scored two goals against Leon Balogun club this afternoon. The match ended 3:1 in favour of Werden Bremen. |
korel9:You got it. |
onatisi:I think confidence is just one of the problem. Me thinkthey need fresh players in the mildfield and in the wings. I don't know why he allowed all those wingers to go. They are all doing very well for their clubs |
I don't think Morinho is the problem. For me, Hazard is the problem. He has lost confidence. |
Thanks moderators for restoring my thread. |
Imoh Ezekiel is missing on that list thou the list is not bad, but i hope Samson Siasia remembers why we didn't qualify for the last Olympics. He should not put his hope on those foreign players. Their clubs can disapoint o. |
Sunnypa11:Tiago Ilori is ready to accept call up from any of the three countries he is eligible to play for. Igboun was tried in that position on two ocassions by Sunday Oliseh but he couldn't perform. He is a natural winger. |
