First off, My purpose of opening this thread is solely based on my eagerness to knowing what and how the Westerners neighbourhoods looks like.
It will afford me and my organization the opportunity to have more knowledge about these places when we decide to open more branches in the western part of Nigeria.
Yesterday, i saw a documentary on Oshogbo on TVC and i was shocked to see a well planed city(maybe the showed good part) through the aeriel view, and this have spurred me to open this thread.
Kindly, post pictures of your Neighbourhoods and that should also includes tourism and fianancial places of such cities or towns.
Thanks
Note: You can post pictures of cities in kwara, Kogi, delta, edo and Niger(jebba) here that relates to westerners.
Neighbourhoods are not restricted to residential houses only.
I will like to see Akure, Oshogbo, Abeokuta, Ilorin, Ado Ekiti, Ijebu-ode, Shagamu, Ota, Ondo, Ogbomosho e.t.c.

Standard of living/ Lagos/Ibadan/P/h Lagos has the best prevailing economic activities than any cities in Nigeria such as industries, commerce, tourism and hospitality, level of government spending is also very high e.t.c followed by Ibadan.
Ibadan has many multinational industries than any cities in Nigeria apart from lagos and Ogun state(not a city) with a booming tourism and hospitality springing up every day in the city.
The likes of Kfc, Dominio stores, Shoprites, Big treat Supermarkets, parks, Zoo, brand hotels(Sharaton, Golden tulips, Ochard e.t.c) are already present in the city.
P/h is well established oil industry city with booming hospitality and many fianacial institutions.

patrick89: I know goods like foot wears, clothes and bags are produced in Aba, ship to Gabon, Cameroon, Ghana Benin republic, sudan niger etc! you need to be in Aba and see them! these goods are very cheap over there, things like boxers are sold as cheap as #150 and you can sell them as as high as #500.. even shirts and bag are very cheap! The earlier you know these things the better you start making good use of your time... Aba is a goldmine that has been left to rot by stupid ochendo t. orji, only God knows that I don't like that short man devil... You can say that again.] |

manchy7531: Healthy looking villagers
The point am making is that the East does not have slums as you have in the West which is as a result of poverty and lack of personal hygiene.
The slums you see in the East(that is if at all we agree they are slums) are as a result of government neglect eg bad roads or littered refused dump but not due to individual poverty.
Stop using your perception of slum and poverty in the West to perceive the East because you will be getting the wrong picture.
IGBOS ARE NOT POOR, THEY COMMAND THE HIGHEST STANDARD OF LIVING BOTH HOME AND ABROAD.
Check out this link for more info.

tearoses: I dont get your argument I thought that people are talking about Ibadan and the fact that there are people living in poverty Are there no people living in poverty in any other of the big cities in Nigeria?
Yesterday I saw a picture of a house in Lagos where 2 women fought and bit themselves. Ive seen slums in isale eko . . .the same isale eko that is a stones throw from posh mansions.
I dont understand the argument What I am seeing is typical of ALL states in Nigeria I live in Akobo. In between Akobo and Akala way (stone throw) there are slums at bodija ojurin.
You will always get that in Old cities In new planned cities this wont happen. You wont find a slum in the middle of Suncity Estate in Abuja Bros, why you no come they show pictures of Akobo now? atleast, few pictures. thanks |

OduaVanguard: Besides those things you highlighted, Smile 4g, an igbo managed ISP (it's actually owned by South Africans) launched their services at Ibadan, not even Lagos o. Why? Why not the SE? Even their own people know the importance and place of the city. Na bad-belle go kill them. you see again! Why not Lagos, Abuja, P/H and ..... bros, where did you get that aerial view of the bridge from? |
