BlackBaron: Just like the billions expended on power and still worse. Nigeria is a like a country where politicians excavate increasingly expanding money sinkholes '. The Lagos train cabs are also about 20 years old yet manages to cost more than another with shorter distance and brand new trains.
1999 - 2015, despite monumental funds we have just meagre basic amenities yet some are here willing to fight tooth and nail for those who sit on their future. Lagos state has abandoned the H-5 and H-6 series subway trains for the chinese built electric trains. |

The looted the excess crude account. They looted the foreign reserves. They institutionalized corruption. They made stealing not same as corruption.
I think I prefer fulani cattle rearers to the so-called world class professionals. Fulani cattle rearers can turn 5 cows into 100 in about 2 years. Fulani farmers can turn a bag of corn into 1000 bags in 2 years. Please let your world class professionals continue to eat economic statistics, I eat corn, rice, meat. |

Yoruba Assembly tells Jonathan 0 BY OUR REPORTER ON MARCH 20, 2015 POLITICS From OLUSEYE OJO, Ibadan
Yoruba leaders led by former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Alani Akinrinade (retd), yesterday, told President Godoluck Jonathan that Yoruba people would not accept an Interim National Government (ING), Government of National Unity (GNU) or any other form of unelected government.
They demanded that this year’s general elections must hold as re-scheduled on March 28 and April 11, insisting also that the exercise must be free, fair, credible, and transparent.
Yoruba leaders made the call at the Yoruba Assembly entitled: “Yoruba People: Our Aspirations and Minimum Demands from the Central Government of Nigeria”, which was convened by Akinrinade at Ibadan.
A communique issued at the end of the conference reads in part: “Yoruba people hereby state categorically that the general elections scheduled to commence on Saturday, March 28, 2015 must not be postponed or jeopardised. Yoruba people will not countenance any form of unelected government, be it Government of National Unity, Interim National Government or howsoever described.”
The leaders warned that the over 50 million population of Yoruba people would not hesitate to take their destiny in their own hands in the event of any attempt to compromise their democratic existence.
The summit was attended by leaders of Yoruba nation, current and past governors of Yoruba States, traditional rulers and their representatives, officials of various civic and professional agencies of Yoruba extraction at home and in the diaspora.
They include vice presidential candidate of the All Pprogressives Congress (APC), Prof Yemi Osinbajo; governors Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State and Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State; former governors of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Otunba Niyi Adebayo; a prominent Itsekiri leader in Delta State, Chief Rita Lori-Ogbebor; former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; and former military governor of Mid-Western State, Gen Samuel Ogbemudia (retd).
The Yoruba Assembly also frowned on the protest staged by thousands of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) members and the Coalition of Concerned Nigerians loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday in Lagos against the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Attahiru Jega.. |

This is the official report from a newspaper Lagos police, soldiers reportedly assault civilians, turn blind eye as rampaging area boys machete residents, loot shops in Ojo Alaba Disturbing news reaching us has it that the whole of Ojo Alaba area of Lagos is on fire. “What seemed like a campaign for elections of agbero union at Ojo Alaba, Lagos, has degenerated to (violence),” an eyewitness still trapped in the area said, Tuesday. “Even with the heavy presence of the police and the army, the violence continues. “The agberos are pouring into the streets looting and injuring people. “A police patrol vehicle passed by, saw them wielding weapons but didn’t do anything about it. “The military and the police are assaulting anybody they see with a camera or phone pointed at them or the scene. “All the military personnel at the scene removed their name tags. “I was almost injured by the hoodlums but I managed to escape, but I’m still trapped there.” We call on law enforcement agencies to do the needful http://www.newsroom.ng/happening-now-lagos-police-soldiers-reportedly-assault-civilians-turn-blind-eye-rampaging-area-boys-machete-residents-loot-shops-ojo-bas |
