quixotic:@bold is a one million dollar question i'm asking myself. People only focus on tinubu without considering other factors. . I |
It seems history is about to repeat itself, i mean the Afonja thing. If a section of the country thinks its a win win for them without considering the efforts of others, no worries. |
APC played smart, they wanted to know who is with them and who is against them hence they scheduled a meeting with those with them and allowed those against them to attend the inauguration. They tried to know this before throught the mock election conducted by APC using open ballot vote but Bukola's group knew the party's intention hence they boybott the mock election and it failed. Now, let's wait and see APC next move. |

The coach pattern of play seems not to be working. all i see is wing play and long balls and players holding unto the ball for to long. The defence lost or lacks confidence. Three players on ashaola. opaz has not been give a through pass. Sweden is technically and tactically better |
psamies24:1, coach tactics 2, Awoniyi can hold the ball 3, Awoniyi is a team player 4, Awoniyi is not selfish 5, Awoniyi has stamina 6, Awoniyi creates chances 7, Awoniyi is workerholic 8, Awoniyi can assist 9, Awoniyi can score 10, Awoniyi also defends Does nacho has all this as a player to suit garba pattern of play? i just they ask. . |

Ogun state needs Urban renewal. Amosun promised to initiate it during his first tenure but i have not heard or seen anything until now. I hope he wouldn't turn to be like Gbenga daniel who promised heaven and earth but fulfilled none his envisage projects. e.g Cargo airport in iperu, Kajola railway free trade zone, ok free trade zone and deep sea port, oil and gas development(Tongeji Island and Ogun Watershed) etcetera. |
Yes Anambra State look more standardized, mordern, decent and baff up than Ogun State, apart from companies located around Shagamu and Agbara areas the entire Ogun State is dead. There are better housing[b] [b]structures in Fegge alone than the entire Ogun State, can Ogun ever have places like Awada, Nkpor, Woliwo, Iyiowa, 33, in their entire life. Anambra interior villages have more economic life than Ogun's, universities located in Ogun serve lagos residents very close to Lagos, there are more bank branches in Anambra than Ogun both commercial and MFBs to show you banks don't go where they do kuli kuli businesses, there are more small businesses in Anambra than Ogun and small businesses are what fuel economies of developing countries, there are more international markets in Anambra State than Ogun, when I mean international markets its not all these Iya Sikiru buka you people open every 4 market days . I have been to Ilesha Remo, I have been to Akute, Abeokuta, Ijebu Ode et al, Ogun outside the places close to Lagos are burial ground. Based on FMM and NAPEP Anambra has the least poverty rate in Nigeria despite high population density. Please we have residential Ogun instead of all these interior decoration of companies your posting here, let's have your cities skyline and network of roads so that the comparision will commence in full blast.
@ the bold ![]() Haba! I don't think what you said are all true. In the whole of Ogun state! Is mowe not part of Ogun state? Is isheri not part of Ogun state? is Ibara estate in Abeokuta not part of Ogun state? Yes. we have four to five decks buildings in the South east but you can't set it as a template for developing a standard structure for others to adopt. No. To you that is development but to them na. However, they might prefer building bungalow or duplex on a big plots of land than to building five decks. Have you forgotten the saying "one man's food is another man's poison". or Have you forgotten as Ndi Igbo is a nation so is Omoluabi. and both can never agree on anything except in ONE. This is my point, to an Ogun State man Sango Ota and Agbara are more industrialised than Nnewi and Onitsha combined while Anambra is more developed and industrialised than the whole of South West to an Anambra man hence the e- fight between them on Nairaland. Finally, whenever Seasterns or Swesterners visit each others region let them drop their own standard of development, so that they both can see and appreciate each others views. . . |
i think the op should also show pictures of cities in Ogun state. |
why is this thread not on front page? |
Ogun state is a hidden gem mostly underrated by visionless and incompetent past leaders, and even by their indigence which are the most industrious and successful bussiness men and women in Nigeria. They have not been able to fully exploit this gem to achieve its full potential. |
pls, abegi, ejo, biko mod put this thread for front page na. Thanks. No offence. |
Naija will be great. |
mmsen:why? what about surulere? Bode tomas, Adeniran Ogunsanya, Ogunlana Drive etcetera. |

Is South West votes still inconsequential? |
Scholes007:ok! i might do that tomorrow. going to sleep. |
Scholes007:no vex. i mean no arm to the state but it's progress. because God said pray for the prosperity of where you dwell. infant, Abia fall short in manys was but i see a potential and most prosperious state in the south east in Abia if ...........i no go talk pass that one oooo. About salary issue, love covereth sin. |
Scholes007:1, Then how many months salary is Abia owing his teachers? 2, No dispute about that except some sectors including education. 3, As a stakeholder in Abia, am less interested in Ebonyi 2, |
GOAL 2: ACHIEVE UNIVERSAL PRIMARY EDUCATION Target 2A: Ensure that, by 2015, children everywhere, boys and girls alike, will be able to complete a full course of primary schooling. Indicator 2.1: Net enrolment in primary education. In 2014, The states with very high attendance ratios included Anambra (94%), Delta (92.80), Imo (90.7), Lagos (92), Ondo (92.4), Osun (91.6), Edo (91.0), Ekiti (93.6) and FTC (94.1) while the least were Bauchi (29.9), Sokoto (24.80), Yobe (23.7), Zamfara (37.80). At the national level, the net attendance ratio was 61% in 2008 and it increased to 71% in 2012. In 2014, there was a shortfall of 2.3% and the net attendance for 2014 thus dropped to 68.7%. When classified by sectors, net attendance in the urban (84.3%) was much higher than in the rural areas (62.2%). Across the geopolitical zones, it was very encouraging in the South East (90.5%), South South (88.1%), South West (87%) and North Central (80.2%). But in the North West (50.5%) and particularly North East (42.5%) net attendance was not impressive. Although 100% attendance is expected, the result shows that Nigeria is on track. Indicator 2.2: Primay Six Completion Rate Nationally completion rate according to fig. 2.2 in 2004 was 82%. It increased to 87.7% in 2012 and dropped to 74.0 in 2014. Within the 2014, the completion rate was higher in the urban (84.4%) when compared with the rural (69.7). In the zones, completion rate was highest in South East (98.7%) zone, followed by South West (94.1%). Primary six completion rate was poorest in the North East (49.5%) zone. Nigeria is also on track. Indicator 2.3: Literacy rate of 15 – 24 years, women The literacy rate of youth women between 2004 and 2014 at the national level increased from 60.4% in 2004 to 80% in 2008. In 2012, it declined to 66%. Although it slightly appreciated in 2014 (66.7%), but that is insignificant. At the state level, literacy of youth women aged 15 – 24 was very encouraging in states like Rivers (98%), Enugu (97%), Imo (95%), Akwa Ibom (95%), Delta (94.1%), Anambra (93%), Ekiti (92.7%), Abia (91.3%). Conversely, literacy rate among woman of age 15 – 24 was poor in Sokoto (10.7%), Bauchi (13%), Yobe (16%) etc. Sectorally, the survey showed that there were more literate youth women (85.3%) in the urban as against the 57.8% recorded in the rural areas. In the zones the literate youth women in the South East (93.5%) were much higher than the rest of the zones. North East (33.0%) and North West (35%) had the lowest percentage of literate youth women in 2014. GOAL 3: PROMOTE GENDER EQUALITY AND EMPOWER WOMEN Target 3.A: Eliminate gender disparity in primary and secondary education preferably by 2005, and at all levels of education no later than 2015. Indictor 3.1: Ratio of girls to boys in Primary and Secondary education Nationally, the gender parity in the primary school in 2008 was 0.9. The interpretation is that in every 9 girls in primary school in 2008, there were 10 boys. It increased to 1.0 in 2012 implying 10 girls in every 10 boys. The parity index increased to 1.02 in 2014. The rural (1.01) and urban (1.01) were equal. The GDIs across the zones were exceedingly encouraging. In the secondary schools in 2012, the gender parity index was 1.02. The decline to 1.01 in 2014 was insignificant. There were no disparity in both the rural (1.0) and urban (90.98) in 2012. Nigeria has already achieved gender parity index as illustrated in fig 3.1a, being a chart of gender parity in both primary and secondary schools distributed by state in 2014. I think healthy competition among the 6 Geo political Zones without biterness is highly welcomed. we experienced that during the first republic. However, there are somethings i want to point out from the MDG Goals attained by one of the South East Zone which is Abia State. Pls don't see this my humble observations or opinons as tribal hatred against any tribe but as stakeholder concern about few things noticed in MDG Goals. First and foremost i will like to start with Target 2A and indicator 2:1 under Goal 2: ACHIEVE UNIVERSAL EDUCATION. Ensure that, by 2015 all children everywhere both boys and girls will be able to complete a full course of primary schooling. Indicator 2:1 however abbreviated 90.5% to the South east without indicating the ratio of other 3 easthern states (Abia, Ebonyi and Enugu) which doubtfully will not sum up to that ratio if Abia state is/was truely considered, although, the ratio of 94% and 90.7% ascibed to Anambra and Imo respectively are justifiable if not exaggerrated. Moreover, Abia state with population of about 2.4 million and Aba the biggest and most populated city with an approximately population of 1.3 million and Umuahia the capital with population of 349,000 thousand has not and can't ensure that all Abian children complete a full course in primary schooling with the way Government is handling education in the state. How do you acheive these MDG Goals with these factors; 1, Non payment of teachers salaries and allowance for over 7 - 8 months 2, dilapidated school structures( some resently renoved after 16 years) 3 out of the120,000 shoe makers 98% has no primary education 4, Out of the over 90 primary schools 90% are privately owned( few are very good but not affordable) 5, Culture of doing business( why go to school if i can't secure a job) 6, frequent strikes 7, Rate of child birth is atleat 5 children - 1 family( no provision for construction of new schools) These major factors are affecting primary schooling in Abia State. Now, looking at these factors Abia state can't sum up to the ratio of 50%. Indicator 2:2 Completion rate is 40% in Abia state. most of the boys drop out from school. that has reduced the south east ratio. Indicator 2:3 I will agree on this because majority of girls go to school here even up to secondary schooling level. I suspect somebody is trying to play on our intelligence hence i wrote my submissions.thanks shalom
|
