If the world were peaceful we would have forgotten we were on a journey either to heaven or hell.

If the world were home, we would have forgotten where we came from, what we are doing here and where we are going to hence the troubles and tribulations.

Mathew 10:34; Think not that i have come to send peace on earth; I came not to send peace but a sword.

In summary "Tinubu may not
be one hundred percent accepted in
Yorubaland. Chief MKO Abiola was not
either. Same goes with the great Awo. But it
would be a very terrible mistake to judge him
based on that. Buhari would be well advised
that it would be in his best interest and the
interest of Nigeria not to ostracise Tinubu.
Not at this time or anytime in the life of this
administration. It is my hope that Buhari and his handlers
would not make the same mistake that
Ibrahim Babangida made with Chief MKO
Abiola. It is my hope that Buhari and his
handlers would not miscalculate and take
decisions that would put this country in
jeopardy, and that they would not act in an
ungrateful manner. If there is
anything that the Yoruba man hates, it is
unfairness, even against strangers or
detractors, not to talk of one of their own,
regardless of how recalcitrant s/he is."
By ostracizing Tinubu = South west!?

I think this forum is meant to educate people with facts and not fictions.

If you say Ezekiel Izuogu produced the first indigenous car in Nigeria, it is a fact. Why? Izuogu Z- 600 was produced in 1997. The fact is there for all to see.

If you say Innoson motors is the first indigenous car manufacturing company, it is a fact. why? we saw the plant in Nnewi.

Then, if Anambra has the highest numbers of billionaire(dollar or naira) in Nigeria, is there no fact to back it up? if there is, pls back it up with the list of billionaires and their investment/company. Then, people will disagree or forever remain silent. sefini!

This is the President response as at yesterday

The party didn’t want to present two candidates because if they presented two candidates, what we heard occurred (would have) eventually happened.”

Alluding to the deal struck by Saraki and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (APC), Buhari observed that “one of the candidates went and got the support of the former ruling party, and he divided our party”.

That was why the party was not pleased about it. The party ran a primary and the one (Senator Ahmad Lawan) who was competing with Saraki won to become APC’s candidate in the Senate.

“But then Saraki did not agree with that; he virtually divided the party and he got the support of the PDP and he allowed a PDP senator to become his deputy

Sentiment doesn't supersede Principle.

It is sentiment when you say since "The CPC had succeeded in producing the
President while the ACN got the Vice Presidential
slot. The third and very influential bride was the
New PDP. One would have assumed
the New PDP would get a sizable chunk of the
vast estate from the deal but this was not the
case. campaign.“Let me be more specific. The APC has been
locked in a logjam over the zoning of the highest
positions in the land. The way I see it is that
CPC has already produced the number one slot.
ACN has provided the number two. ANPP has
secured the boss of all bosses the National
Chairman of APC. The New PDP which came
into the union with five formidable Governors
and a multitude of National Assembly members
is yet to get any position. This appears to me as
grossly unfair and disproportionate. It is one of
the reasons many onlookers and non-party
members like me supported the candidacy of
Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki as senate president'

But it is principle to say that parties executives/ officials were not produced through consensus agreement/arrangement or Zoning , but through election.

If zoning was agreed, then why did 2 newPDP and APGA candidates insisted in holding presidential primary election against CPC ANPP and ACP preffered consensus candidate Gen Buhari?

What if they, newPDP won both the primaries of the presidential and party chairmanship elections?

Won't they say it is democracy at play?

It seems they gave false impression that they rather believe in election than consensus agreement/arragment or Zoning. And when they saw they were defeated on the two fronts and probably on the fourth, they cry marginalization and air sentiments..

It is a welcome development if it is targeted at some imported goods. e.g shoes, wears, upholstery furnitures, fruit juice, cars, amoured vehicles, etcetera. All these products are produced here by many Nigerians against few importing them.

They almost destroyed Shoe business in Aba with those cheap and low quality chinese shoes.

only few are beneficiaries of some of these products i mentioned while many Nigerians lose.

That is why Clinton famously said what Africa needs is strong institutions not strong men. You guys were all hailing the dexterity and political sagacity of the Jagbajan. Without a doubt we owe the man for broadening and deepening democracy in Nigeria but at what cost to the institution of the APC. Even as we speak, some are still railing about how Tinubu will 'deal' with Saraki a co-member of the party. How can this 'build'. What exactly is the difference between the two men. None. Both men have equally undermined the APC as a party. Both men want the same thing so by simple iteration they should cancel each other out and let the party as an institution grow. Or continue their power show and blow it all to pieces. It is their choice.

My exasperation is about folks like you who switch between personality cultism and institutional supremacy at will. You simply cannot rely on both. They are mutually exclusive. Institutional building requires selfless sacrifice and I cannot over-emphasize that. The APC must do or die.
Kindly permit me to clearify myself about your exasperation about my post. I have never switch from been a staunch believer of institutional supremacy to personality cultism.

As a devote believer of such, i only emphasied my point on why the norms of the party should supersede that of personal interest. which Tinubu so far abided, as concerns APC.

Concerning what Clinton said ' Africa needs strong institutions and not strong men' i

I agree in part and disagree in part. Why? Institutions are made by Strong men and Strong men must abides by the norms of institutions to make it work.

America had no Institutions immediately after independent but made institutions through strong men who willinlg sacrificed their personal interest to allow it grow.

We need strong men( selfless leaders) who will always put the interest of these institutions firstt before personal interest.

We can't put cart before the horse.

Saraki just show his own color but APC have to put there house in order before the unexpected happen. I rest my case.
I took note, but wanted to correct your notion that there was consensus arraingment or agreement among coliaton parties involved to share positions. And at no time did Tinubu imposed his preffered candidates on the party.

If the foundation is destroyed how will the righteous stand.

you expect me to answer all this questions of yours?
Directly or Indirectly, each parties that form APC I.e CPC, ACN, ANPP, APGA and New PDP have a leader In the party.
Tinubu is great leader that make the merger possible or come to reality but he can't be having says all the time. My plead is that everyone should shed his/her sword for the unity of our great ination.
Without any bias mind i am expecting answers from those questions put before you.

At no time ever i disagreed that all parties involved have Leaders in APC but the party norms must be respected above personal interest which i think Tinubu has so far demostrated by dropping his consensus theories in ACN and allowing elections which is the party norm to be supreme and deciding factor in electing officials in APC.

Lets not focus on TINUBU but on how the party norms had been altered or breached by some people personal interest.

pls kindly answer those questions then you will understand what transpired.

[quote author=vision2050 post=34686319]Even though I don't support how the election was conducted.
However, take a look at this;
Let us face fact on this matter and lay it to rest
as quickly as possible.
APC as a party is a coalition (call it
amalgamation if you like) of different political
groups, that is ACN, CPC, ANPP, APGA and
"NewPDP".
I think the problem is that Tinubu and those on
his side are failing to recognize this fact.
The ANPP block took the party chairman, CPC
took president and Vice President went to ACN.
The members of NewPDP felt that it is natural
that the Senate presidency should come to them
and that is why they did everything within their
reach to get the position of the senate president.
Mr. President is taking cognizant of this simple
gentleman agreement that is why he's not
reacting as some people expected.
I have heard some people saying that Tinubu toil
with his resources to build APC, the question that
came to mind on this is why did he not use the
resources for AC and ACN? The truth of the
matter is that every component in the coalition
complement each other, all of them stake
something in the project and they all should
benefit even APGA that is the smallest in the
group. Yes, Tinubu was mobilizing support for
APC in the southwest the same way Amaechi put
Rivers state on autopilot and concentrated on
driving members of APC across the country (he
personally drove the SUV that brought the
defected governors of PDP to Obasanjo's house in
Abeokuta and also drove El-Rufai to court in
Kaduna). Rochas Okorocha of APGA faced
possible rejection from his Igbo brothers, he
sacrificed that for APC.
It will be wrong and unfair to say others should
just go to sleep why Tinubu/ACN wing of APC
dictate what they get "bawo ni obo se se ori ti
inaki kose"?
Tinubu should just understand what belong to
everybody can not belong to somebody. If Tinubu
is not please with the turn of event he can go
back to his ACN where he will be the alpha and
Omega.
APC belong to everybody and not to somebody.
As a matter of fact what happened at the
National Assembly is one of the changes we
voted for.

@bold

If Tinubu and those on his side failed to recognize other poltical parties involve in the amalgamation of APC, ACN with the largest block of 6 states, Why did Tinubu and CPC allow newPDP, APGA and ANPP contest in APC Presidential primary election?

You said each parties invovled TOOK postions in the party and it is natural for newPDP to TAKE the SENATE seat.
How did they take the positions?
Was it by consensus, election or conquest?
Did any of the parties involve believed in consensus or election?

when isaac played on the wing we could see he created chances then you should have removed taiwo(not in the game today) and replace him with simon( he can create good chances better than isaac) but you refused.

Sokari was well read by the germans, they knew he held unto the game for too long thus being pressured he loses the ball making the mildfeild dead. why not replace him and bring on nacho you refused.

Maybe he learned his lessons today.
