Omanambala: Because when Aribo was playing the midfield was not existent and that's the whole point of most of our criticism of the team. Aribo is athletic with an eye for goal but our midfield keep suffering. You can play Aribo if you chose to and still win matches but your team will have to rely only on wing play because Aribo is not mobile nor creative...he rarely moves with the ball.
As for Nwakali , you are sure of possession and control of midfield with his inclusion , though he is not a very physical player and is not athletic like Aribo.
SerVik: Expect more of that in the coming games. We've told everybody that we play from the wings. I expect the coach to introduce a midfield 3 in the second half and switch play
I think we will have to do that against tougher oppositions.
Kog45: I thought with Ndidi-Onyeka the pairing which I frowned at will give Nwakili more opportunities.....okay how do you see Ndidi-Aribo-Nwakili
It can also work with Onyeka but from what I saw against Egypt, Aribo should continue. He impressed me for the first time. Because in my opinion, Onyeka is the best midfielder in the SE.
Kog45: That post is a PUZZLE Oga thegoodjoe.......Nwakili should have been a starter but technical crew are still working on his off ball work rate, with ball on his feet cool guy but without ball he need to do more, possibly Ndidi-Onyeka will give Nwakili more freedom to express himself.
We just had a match, hope to see more players as we progress.
Playing Nwakili with just Ndidi in the midfield is suicide.
Iheanacho must give way for Nwakali to play then allow Ndidi and Aribo to continue. Next time we are defending a goal, I think Onyeka should be considered ahead of Nwakali.
Meliforme: This is how he expresses his gratitude to a coach that kept faith in him despite his crosses to Chinhuahua.
This is how he makes excuses for his shambolic shows, as if anything has improved in his performances: A handful of pagan crosses. 0 key passes, 0 assists. 0 shots on target.
What we have seen of him is his trademark defending which is commendable for a forward and his speedy runs which makes good highlights of his wing plays. So what exactly has changed.
In the game against Egypt, our forward line was the weakest, maybe because of our strategy to defend against Salah. We can do more with the personnel we have.
There are players that should have no business sitting on the bench. Let me see the players Eguavoen will field tomorrow.
My favourite name for Moses Simon is Daddy. i just modified this post with this addendum to make it clear how much i love the man Moses Simon, but Moses Simon will be happier if we are playing to our full potential.
Is it because we won Egypt, you think dey are a weak team?
Without Moses Simon, there was no way we could have scored not to talk of winning.
Meliforme: Why will i not rate a player who has 12 goals overall for his club. All that i am saying is that Osimhen is more handful and that Sadiq impressed me more with glimpses of his skills.
Eguavoen may have expected more from Sadiq (Sadiw, I think i like this variant after that typo error coming a moniker in here), but that is not the point the point is that i will not wait for eguavoen to rate a player, before giving my rating.

I am not Eguavoen and Eguavoen is not me.
Point of correction, Awoniyi has scored 14 goals this season with 3 assists in the BUNDESLIGA. While the “monster machine” has 9 goals with two assists in the SERIA A.
Meliforme: I don't need multiple games to ascertain a player's competence. On Osimhen's AFCON debut even with the cameo appearance, a lot can be deduced from his style of play and the promise it held.
I believe in growth, but Taiwo is yet to become the player Osimhen is.
I was more impressed with Sadiq than i was with Taiwo.
Awoniyi is Awoniyi. Osimhen is Osimhen.
Remember, the same Awoniyi has scored 14 goals this season in the top 5 leagues in Europe. More than what Osimhen has scored.
In here and now, Osimhen should be the one to be the player Awoniyi is.
Besides, you claim to ascertain a player’s competence at a glance. How many players have you vouched for to become a hit even when they were actually nobody?
Give me one name, please. Else don’t come here and pretend to be a scout.
Meliforme: Cheif, You mean Taiwo replaced Osimhen perfectly?
Awoniyi won only 1 ground duel out of 8. 1 aerial duel out of 8. 0 dribbles. 0 key passes.
In which area of play was he a perfect replacement.
I will commend Awoniyi's movements and pressing, but he is still not on Osimhen's level. Osimhen owns the physicality (speed, strength and stamina) and the tactics (intelligence). If you can remember his somehow diagonal press against Cape Verde. He reads his opponents well
If you didn't use the word perfect, i would have ignored.
Damioduso1: Nathan Adewale Tell declares his intentions to play for the grean and white on Nigeria. Another foriegn born player has declared to play for Nigeria
jihday: Simon; "The game (Vs Egypt) is one of my best in two years. Every coach have their mentality & impact. The previous coach, I play to his instructions. With the new coach, he gave us freedom & allow us to bring our style of play at club side."
When I Dey tell pipul dem think say I Dey lie. See for yourself now.
MetalJigsaw: Two Things That Could Have Happened If Victor Osimhen Was In The Game Against Egypt. News Hub Creator
Nigeria played one of their best games on Tuesday, the 11th day of January 2022. The game was against the Pharaohs of Egypt and the Super Eagles got the better of the North African side by 1-0, courtesy of the goal scored by Leicester City's striker, Kelechi Iheanacho.
The Super Eagles had a good game, but there were still some players who were not on top of their game. This now leads to the question, what would have happened if Victor Osimhen was in action against the Pharaohs of Egypt?
Probably, Taiwo Awoniyi played to his best, but his best couldn't have been up to the best of Victor Osimhen of Napoli. Let's take a look at what could have happened if Victor Osimhen played against the Egyptians.
1. The Super Eagles would have scored more goals in that game; Taiwo Awoniyi played well, but he was not pacy enough to connect with Moses Simon, who was always on the run towards the box of the Egyptians. In that game, one of the strengths of the Super Eagles was their solidity in the midfield.
The Eagles were strong in the midfield that the attackers of the Pharaohs of Egypt hardly went pass them. With such performance in the midfield, Victor Osimhen would have scored at least a goal in that game. He is pacy and has good positioning.
2. The defenders of the Pharaohs of Egypt would have been restricted to their box; fear factor is one thing that works in the game of football. There are a couple of strikers who are feared by the defenders, and Victor Osimhen is one of those strikers. His presence on the pitch would have kept the defenders on their toes in that game, this would have given the Super Eagles more opportunities to press them more in their box.
It's really painful that Victor Osimhen couldn't play at this tournament. Do you think Taiwo Awoniyi would possibly replace Victor Osimhen as expected? Let's have your thoughts on this article in the comments' section.
What did Osimhen do with the one on one he had in the World Cup qualifiers?
TheSuperNerd: A Must Watch: Paul Ebere Onuachu, Goals Lord and King of Belgium on Teamwork
Watch Onuachu thanking his teammates for his latest "Golden Shoe/Best Player in Belgium for 2021" award.
It almost brought tears to my eyes. Probably the most beautiful video on appreciating teamwork you will watch today. Only 2 mins and 41 secs of your time.
The punchline is, "It's an individual trophy, but without a team you don't succeed as an individual".
Beautiful speech, Paul and more wins & triumphs to you.
P.S: Really can't wait to have this guy, Monster Machine (Osimhen), 4 lungs Midfield horse (Etebo) and Dean of Defence (Balogun) back in the fold ahead of March's WCQs cracker.
Not to mention newbies like The Menace (should he be called), The MF machine (Alhassan) & maybe Onyedika.
The future of our team is ever bright. The New Golden Generation.
Kudos to Onuachu. I think he is the second Nigerian after Kayode Olanrewaju to become best player of a league.
Kog45: Thank you for this simple explanation....when a team had a competitive match, the next training is called recovery training for the XI and it doesn't last more than 30 mins...Those that didn't feature or had less minutes against Egypt were damn fresh and expected they must have an edge and secondly they just need to raise their games to be considered as a starter.
Late Rasheed Yekini doesn't score much in trainings but crazy when it comes to real test....more reasons a psychologist is important in any team.
