Well, every player deserves a chance to prove themselves and It is now left to them to grab it with both hands. Besides, we need to assess him now as the tournament progresses to ascertain what he can bring to the team if brought in to help the team. |

Joebie: I am not comfortable about the idea of resting most of the starters. I hope Eguavoen’s plan is to bring them on later in the game. Our starters need more games to really gel before the knock out stages. He may not see this game as a very good test for the lads even in a resounding win. Well, we’ll see i how they can pull a good win. Agreed without reservation. |

But let’s Safari said, it’s all good, we’ll see today whether Sadiq Umar is an Eagles material or just a quota candidate.

Na so pple eye go clear when nwakali slips down to the Spanish 3rd tier or move to any of the Scandinavian leagues soon What do you mean by his eyes clear? Was he doing well as at the time I clamored for him? Yes or No Ajagun will be “29” years old next month and you don’t expect him to be playing football forever. However, he had a successful career from winning the league with Dolphin to winning Greece cup with Panathinaikos. And even won Motm in the Eredivisie and Belgium pro league. DarkJeddi: Osimehn was diagnosed with Covid-19..
That was the main reason he is not in camp..
That and the fact that he was already carrying an injury..
He is a human being..
One setback was enough..
Throwing in another was more than he could manage..
You have to be mentally in a right frame to give your best.. Yes that was why he could play yesterday |

safarigirl: Okay
I have told you the importance of character evidence when you want to sentence people who commit the same crime
I have also told you why Osimhen is different from Dennis, whether their situations are the same or not, the people involved are not same. The sentence will not be the same
Osimhen already had a place to return to, Dennis does not have a place.
They will not be treated same I understand your point but I just wanted to clear the misconception people here have for treating Dennis’s situation differently from Osimhen. I think that should be settled first before individuals treat them based on “their” prerogative or perception. |

safarigirl: He told him and pleaded with him and he saw reason
Difference. First point is, he practically told the coach by himself he was not coming. 2. The coach “tried” to convince him (not his club)......why? (1) because Eguavoen doesn’t “initially” thinks that excuse was tangible enough to stop him. (ii) because the bulk rest at his (Osimhen) table not his club. Apparently, Osimhen decided not to come on his own even when he could still come despite the Covic because Covid didn’t stop some players attending this AFCON. Is situation is not different from Dennis. |

safarigirl: Nah, not the same
NFF let us know with Dennis, that his club is stopping him from coming over, and although the buck stopped with him, he chose to forego it. There is an Eguaveon interview saying something of such. There are also multiple articles by journalists detailing Dennis's troubled relationship with the NFF.
If you have any such reports in relation to Osimhen, I'm open to seeing the . “ Osimhen, it’s a pity that he will not be at the AFCON. He told me practically and pleaded with me and I saw reasons. I tried for hours to convince him but his health comes first which is my concern“This was quote from Eguavoen. Apparently, Osimhen did the same as Dennis did. He had options to insist he would attend despite the Covid. |

safarigirl: I don't know which one happened.
Could NFF have still included his name? Yes
Did they? No
Neither of us are privy to what happened and NFF has not come out to say Osimhen made anything clear to them or his club to the best of my knowledge. Is that not the same with Dennis? |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by forgiveness: 2:12pm On Jan 18, 2022 |
safarigirl: The only reason he did not play is because of COVID.
There was no doubts he would have played irrespective, but they ruled him out because he allegedly had COVID, not because of his face injury.
Perhaps, if NFF had not omitted his name based on a COVID report, he would have gone for the AFCON irrespective, and would have played. Did NFF omit his name or he and club made it clear he would not be coming? |
