BrownLondon: And Sunshineg5 you have to stop claiming warri, we Yorubas are too great to be attaching ourself to small minority tribes.
We ain't Ibos that beg for unity, if you noticed the Yorubas in Kwara and Kogi are the one trying to be with their brothers not the other way round, we shouldn't be the one to beg like the Ibos. Sir Anthony Enahoro tried everything for Mid west region to be part of Western region.... That's Yoruba greatness.
Stop saying their are Yorubas in Delta, they should be the one to claim us. Warri belongs to Itshekiri and Itshekiris are Yorubas. |

Nowenuse: Igalas and Okuns (Kogi west) shared boundary until the Ebiras came from Kwararafa and put them asunder.
Look at the map of Kogi state below. There are Igalas in Ajaokuta & Bassa LGAs and there are Yorubas (Oworo) in Lokoja LGA. Tell me how far these places are from each other if not a stonethrow.
If not for Kwararafan colonization, Igalas (Okpoto people) would have been part of the Yoruba nation just like Okun.
Cc 9jakool forgiveness Can you show me proof to confirm Igalas are Yorubas? |

For them - everything is a big elaborate ceremony - this is common in most African tribes. They are just happy go luckly. Igbos are like Bantus - very hardworking - they can dig and dig - and have almost protestant work ethic. With all your maturity kukuyi are still dominating you all in Kenya. Kukuyi dat will be relegated in Nigeria as far as I concern. Who takes a changee drunkard like you seriously!? |

rvp20182: The Igbos knew from early that they were getting a raw deal in Zoo. Here we are dealing with Yorubas and Hausa. Yorubas are easy to spot. They are mostly the Lagosians and Abidjan. I'd put Sammy, Obaboon, and Daniel there. The Hausa are likes of Ibrahim, Enchanter, couple of ladies - they sell Abuja and the northern cities..Igbos are closer to Bantus. The Yorubas - extend all the way to Ghana - so Vaxx and likes. They are just typical African - likes to party and engage in elaborate ceremonies. Hausas are typical Muslim - nothing is important as Islam. Their religion is no 1 - and everything else 2nd. The highligt of their life is to visit Mecca and stone Ibilis (the satan). The most primitive people on planet earth. Them Muslims. Crap. We can't fall for this. Aluta continua .... fellow countryman. |

obaaderemi: This is true. After the Korean war of the 50s, South Korea was a very poor country for years. What lifted them out of poverty were the aids they received from America. You know the South Koreans had America as an ally while North Korea had Russia as its ally. Money, machineries and knowhow poured into South Korea. The Koreas were another testing grounds for the capitalism and communism systems to show the world which was better. A lot of aids had poured into Africa too but one difference between the African countries and South Korea was preparation and a sense of patriotism. Koreans valued education greatly. By 1970 their literacy level was close to 90%. And there was no tribalism unlike Africa.
I think people should stop using the negative influence of the west as an excuse for Africa's backwardness. We lack a sense of belonging to our different countries.
Look at Kenya, every election time people get killed wantonly based on ethnicity. Look at Nigeria and the menace of the northerners.
Ghana has a very good chance but it continues to squander it on the altar of poor leadership. Ghana can very easily be a beacon in Africa if it gets its acts together. Brilliant people, small country, gold, oil, cocoa, almost everything!
Black South Africa is a very peculiar case and it illustrates a good example of a people giving up in the battle of survival of the fittest because they erroneously believe they ain't as good as the other race. It can be very enervating when you dwell on Africa's case. I think South Korea was also very corrupt and experienced military coup like other African countries. The saving grace and turning point was when they got good leader in the person of Park Chung Hee who resume leadership of South Korea through coup. He turned things around after he met with the German counselor when he went to beg for funds weeping. The German counselor advised him to do three things that eventually turned things around for South Korea. He said Park, build steel mill, build cars/ships and highways, then your country will come out of poverty. Though there was no funds to drive those economy policy, but opportunity came when they sent 8,000 mine labourers and 10,000 nurses at the request of West German counselor in exchange for millions of dollars. The funds repatriated were used to build the steel and iron industry and established industrial city. Luck came South Korea way again when South Korea received tens of billions of dollars in grants, loans, subsidies, technology transfers, and preferential markets, all provided by the Johnson and Nixon administrations in exchange for 320,000 South Korea's soldiers participation in Vietnam war. Park used these funds to move South Korea from Agricultural economics to industrial economy with focus on export-oriented industrialisation. Park achieved these by using Koreans engineers, technicians, companies, etc unlike Nigeria or African countries that don't believe in themselves. Unless Nigeria starts utilizing and relying on local engineers, companies to build roads, railway system, bridges, steel industry, Skyscrapers, ships, refineries, offshore oil/gas production facilities, drilling rigs, intervention vessel etc Nigeria can't really progress. |

theenchanter: there's never a point in time when S. Korea was poorer than Nigeria.
African country only seem rich cos of their vast natural resources. unfortunately, a country's wealth isn't buried in earth crust, a country's wealth is in its people and not kms into d ground.
S.Koreans didn't come to Nigeria in search of job, as a matter of fact, they came to have a cut of the pie disguised as nationals. South Korea gained independent from Japan in 1945 and went into a devastating war in 1950 to 1953. The war recked and ravished South Korea into extreme poverty for a decade without remedy until Park Chung-hee became the president in 1962. As at that time Nigeria already gained independent and generated huge revenue from Agriculture products like Cocoa, Palm oil and grandnut. The revenue was used to build cities, industries, institutes, etc all over the country. Ibadan, Lagos etc were far more developed than Soeul with Skyscrapers, Tv station, trains, electricity, etc In fact, m Nigeria had all these before South Korea ever dreamt of having them Education was free in some parts Nigeria. Students graduate from university and got employed instantly. Nigerians bought tire rubber cars and not Tokunbo. Naira had more value than dollar and was equivalent to pounds. Nigerians only go for Study and shopping abroad, nothing like japa. Bros, South Korea was POOR and WRETCHED while Nigeria was VERY rich. Hence the reason many South Korean flocked Nigeria for greener pastures. South Koreans themselves admitted Nigeria was far richer and better than their country and confirmed they came to Nigeria to survive. Maybe you are not aware Nigeria was a very rich country until military regime destroyed it. |

Lionessza6: Dont know about South Korea ever being poorer than many African nations, perhaps you could educate me more on that.
Like I said before, Africans cannot go far without teaching its people who the threats are ,how they keep winning etc. Also,we have the issue of religion and adopted cultures. As long as we still have educational systems that teach us how to be great negropeans and Arab- niggas , we will always be looking for a master.
I will expand on this in the evening. South Korea was poorer than Nigeria in the 60s to middle or late 80s. Many of them lived in Nigeria to find job. |

Shma: there is nothing new that I don't know about Lagos, Lagos is not planned. Eko is a different project just like Konza, you can't call it a city when the land still lies dormant. You brought something about city planning which your dim-witted colleague( samorobo) failed to grasp. When comparing planned cities basing on urban planning, Nairobi still ahead of Lagos, zoning law has failed you., environmental factor, rehabilitation plans, coding, and some infrastructural indices. If we go by age, Lagos is older than Nairobi but still lags behind it, why? Urban planning is not favouring that city. Which Lagos is not planned? Lagos lags behind Nairobi in what aspects? Which Lagos? The pictures below is Lekki city. Apparently, it's planned.

Shma: @forgiveness, this is where we'll land if we go by your logic Some cities were planned to be capital, just like Abuja, and all projects applied was to be at per with capital city standards. Same to Konza, Konza is a planned city currently underway. It started from scratch just to suit city dream of its own. Take a look.
This is a project in kenya It's destined to be one of the cities in kenya. That is not my logic but the fact on ground. |
