Humility017: and to think.... that some folks here;
somehow forgiveness and Prof. Komekn
kicked against the inclusion of Icons4 in the selection committe speaks volume...
I have not seen any of the later names post this voting template or Komekn even made his votes (if he has voted) since that committe was inaugurated...
but this guys were kicking against the inclusion of someone ready to do the job.... it baflles me that some peeps won't work, still will not want others to work....
this should be an eye opening for some of us voting carelessly in this forum...this is the paramount reason why DemocrAcy has not helped Nigeria at all.....
because Nigerians are faced with the dangers of democracy, which is; it may enthrone mediocrity at the expense of competency if the majority are not enlightened or educated....
Thanks Oga ICON4s it shows you are a diligent man.... I won't be surprised if you're a project manager....because you've proved it...
and for those who were chanting Democracy hope they can now attest to the chants they made....
no issues though...just want them to see the reason why I took it upon myself to see you and Andrew inclusion in that committe.
I can see your mentality has been polluted and thereby become rotten going by the bolded. It needs redemption. Are you even practicing true democracy in Nigeria in the first place? Nonsense talk. Besides, who told you another person wouldn't have done better? You wanted Icons4, Icons4 you have. Keep mute. |

Mujtahida: You are reading today into the history of yesterday. Today's constitution is not the pre-independence constitution.
1954 was the time the opportunity presented itself not today when we have become set in our ways. Don't you think if that clause had been inserted, all Ojukwu needed when the situation presented itself, was to activate it?(admitted this is conjecture as nothing is guaranteed)
I do not believe in blaming the past because it yields nothing good but if we going to blame let's be true to history. Gbam. Instead of looking for way out, someone wants to blame somebori. |

safarigirl: There are many things in the constitution today that nobody is following, so, what would have made the secession clause different?
Like I said, let everybody face the disaster that we have found ourselves in today. The past is the past and both Azikiwe and Awolowo made their errors, a lot of Easterners still blame Azikiwe for the quagmire today.
A generation that cannot pry themselves out of the claws of an aged dictatorial leader and his henchmen (or is he the henchman?), would not have known what to do with a secession clause. You don't need a secession clause to secede, ask South Sudan.
Common referendum, FG refused to grant it, is it a secession clause they would have allowed? Is referendum in Nigeria's constitution? All he said was you erred big time for blaming Awolowo instead of Zik but you are trying to find a way out. |

edi287: It is mostly Igbos that call Yoruba "slaves of Hausa/Fulani" despite being ruled over by the same Hausa/Fulani. How many times do you hear Yoruba folks call us slaves? Go through NL for one and see if what I'm saying is a lie. Good you mentioned 4 Northern states which are good based on naija standards but if you listen to what some folks say, you'd think the whole North region is thrash despite some folks living in the said area. At the end of the day - 95 percent of this country is beyond bleeped up...the east is better off than the north but it's still nothing to write home about... There's nothing to brag about not having constant power, good roads, etc. All this tribal wars is juvenile when compared to the bigger picture - our dear country is nothing to write home about. I'm not saying don't be proud of your tribe(I'll always be proud Igbo man) but let's be more reasonable. How ever we want to look at it - "illiterate and unambitious North" is ruling this country. What does that say about the rest of us? What more can I say? The bolded said it all. |

Mujtahida: Ambitious in terms of making progress. Left for the North we'd still be under the colonialists.
Left for the North we'd still be under military dictatorship (in fact by temperament this is the kind of government they like)
So granted they dominate and control the major levers of power, but they are driving the nation back and not forward. What progress has the South made? Or are the Northerners the Governors in the South "driving the South back"? What progress did the likes of Obasanjo and Jonathan bring to the nation to drive it forward? Abi, dem no bi Southerners? The whole country is not ambitious in my own opinion. Mediocre is what I see everywhere. |

komekn: Your bitter deep seated rancour has completely befuddled your mind.
Many moons ago you threw vitriolic rhetoric and unrestricted abuse towards Tega. Your words were he would never make it in the EPL. He is not good enough bla bla and all sorts irrelevant Balderdash.
He does not even know you but you got so heated with your opinion and allowed your whole being to be carried away on an emotive roller coaster of hatred and dislike. It's incomprehensible why. I can not understand it.
Now he is essentially one of the best strikers in the world and it's too much for you to swallow.
Tega was the second highest goal scorer in Swansea with 5 goals in the EPL Jordan Ayew was the first with 7. The team was in free fall they had about 8 managers over 4/5 seasons confused and no direction in the club.
He promptly went to Villa and tore up the Championship again. I can say the rest is now history he is now numero one at Chelsea. And the world is his oyster.
My view is very simple you don't create IN- FORM from two games in the EPL or any other league for that matter.
Particularly when he has been essentially woeful for the past two seasons in the EPL.
If after 10 games if he has kept up his current trajectory you can say he has got some form or is striker IN- FORM.
I hope he does well because he seems to have improved on many fronts. The multiple handicaps are being addressed and Leicester have been exceptionally patient not many clubs will give any player that amount of time.
Nigerian Players with consistent form for over 10 years, OBAGOAL,YAK, YEKINI, IKPEBA, FINIDI, .
That's what we mean by consistent form. But you don't understand that. He has done well after 4 games. Still a pass mark. |

komekn: Me too.
Putting matters in context this is players who had not scored in the EPL for over a year.
Add to that he has played 50 plus games in the EPL for Leicester and scored if l remember correctly 5 goals add these two and it's 7 goals in three seasons and 50+ plus games.
Yes he is improving but he has a long way to go before we call him an IN- FORM striker and or forward player.
But of course it will be construed as blind prejudice and negative bias and therefore HATRED by quite a good number of contributors here. Bros, let us give honour to whom it is due. 4 goals in 4 matches with some assists. Haba! The law of here and now don dey activate. Mo we leave matter and forget about then and then. Here and now ti take over. If you continue, you can be labelled as hater oooooo. |

safarigirl: stop embarrassing yourself on the internet.
As far as the here and now is concerned, Iheanacho is inform. It was still yout that boldly claimed to us here, that a player is only as good as his last game. Based on Iheanacho's last game, any neutral person will agree he is truly in form, but since you stink of prejudice and emotive bias you no go gree, then you are here claiming you aren't a hater.
You are now rounding up all his games over the last five years to defend your bias, look at how you are making a fool of yourself and contradicting your own words. Come and give me a list of players that have been in form five years in a row. Going by this your useless analysis, even your Tammy Abraham is not in form, after all, not so long ago, he was a massive flop in EPL.
You should take an entire bottle of those Bitterness pills you earlier recommended. Tammy Abraham didn't flop in EPL. Except you want me to believe Iheanacho flopped in EPL.

Humility017: ibadan having the highest concentration of mad people is not something that will continue over time....
but you see alot of nigeria problems all started from colonial era even the repressive and draconian nature of the police force all stems from the colonial era... money laundering as well.... this subsequently follow the self rule that prevailed after.... try get PETER EKE (Colonialism and the two publics) it is an article...it takes about the civil and primordial culture.
many of this issue of illiteracy prevalent in the north is something that will linger on for a long time and will return hurt the nation and Nigeria at large...which it has already started. .... my undergraduate thesis was on insecurity and going through the numerous research works It goes to reveal that illetracyis partly response for the upsurge of the bokoharam activities and religion fanaticism
many of the average northerners I will say this a milion time...are not ambitious especially when compared to the southerners....
try engage many in discussion as regard the current economy woes and you'll be surprised at their response..... many will tell you it is not the government's fault but the will of God.... little reason why they can be easily deceived..... compare the quest for education and self improvement in each of the geopolitical regions and you marvel at your findings...
their preoccupation with the quest for political power have not gone to better the lives of majority of their people.... The desire to rule Nigeria is also ambition. Before Oyinbo came, some parts of the North don dey read and write in Ajami. |
