joseph1013: Rabzy my man! Long time.
It's funny reading Blacks use slavery as an excuse for lack of development.
Fact: More whites were brought as slaves to North Africa than blacks brought as slaves to the United States or to the 13 colonies from which it was formed. White slaves were still being bought and sold in the Ottoman Empire, decades after blacks were freed in the United States.
But let's not loud it. Excuse of slavery makes our backwardness sound tenable.
Ivory Coast or Algeria? Africa is not yet free from colonialism in regards to neocolonialism. I don't think that supports development. |

Even the ones that said awaziem can't do without a defensive winger in Simon Awaziem may only play that role in this competition because of stability and not because he is the best. He has his weakness but we can overlook for now. |

Badagry seaport wasn't cancelled because of the proximity with lekki port. but with initial bad planning and wrong designing. just quickly Google up to update yourself. having two sea port close to each other is not a big deal. Tin can port and lagos port complex are very close.
Ondo state seaport is not certain yet as it still a consideration.Federal goverment is yet to implement it. Is moving towards the ball with the intention of playing the ball? That SA player was moving towards the far post without any intention of playing the ball na. Haba, he was not the one that contested for the ball with Ighalo, he was not obstructing Ighalo and he did not have any intention of playing the ball rather he got involved in the second sequence of events which started from when his teammate contested with Ighalo and he sent the ball backwards to him. Mickael2: Offside offence
A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched* by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by: interfering with play by playing or touching a ball passed or touched by a team-mate or interfering with an opponent by: preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or challenging an opponent for the ball or clearly attempting to play a ball which is close when this action impacts on an opponent or making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball *The first point of contact of the 'play' or 'touch' of the ball should be used
or gaining an advantage by playing the ball or interfering with an opponent when it has: rebounded or been deflected off the goalpost, crossbar or an opponent been deliberately saved by any opponent A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball (except from a deliberate save by any opponent) is not considered to have gained an advantage. A ‘save’ is when a player stops, or attempts to stop, a ball which is going into or very close to the goal with any part of the body except the hands/arms (unless the goalkeeper within the penalty area).
In situations where:
a player moving from, or standing in, an offside position is in the way of an opponent and interferes with the movement of the opponent towards the ball this is an offside offence if it impacts on the ability of the opponent to play or challenge for the ball; if the player moves into the way of an opponent and impedes the opponent's progress (e.g blocks the opponent) the offence should be penalised under Law 12 a player in an offisde position is moving towards the ball with the intention of playing the ball and is fouled before playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the foul is penalised as it has occurred before the offside offence an offence is committed against a player in an offside position who is already playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the offside offence is penalised as it has occurred before the foul challenge

Mickael2: Thank you. When someone plays a freekick you don't just flag any player who is in the box offside. As a matter if fact some players stand in an offside position deliberately when a freekick is taken then they move backwards hoping for a knockdown. This guy here moved towards the back post waiting for a flick on, he had no business with the freekick, I don't know why that is so hard to understand Exactly my point. But he moved forward to challenge the ball. That na confirm offside. |

breezy147: No its not. Events overruled the snapshot position when the ball bounced off Ighalo. Ighalo literally passed the ball to the Southie player who scored. The moment the ball was played, he already challenge for the ball in an offside position. The other events can't overrule that fact. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by forgiveness: 10:46am On Jul 11, 2019 |
Mickael2: He did not move towards the ball na. That guy that was offside was the eventual goalscorer. He was standing close to the far post, he just ran forward for the knockdown, it was another guy who was not offside that contested with Ighalo and he unfortunately knocked it backwards. That guy didn't move towards the ball The moment the ball was kicked, he moved towards the ball and that should have been counted as offside. It shouldn't have been after it landed on Ighalo's back.

Ighalo, Musa etc often have poor first touches. I have not even seen Mikel or Ndidi control the ball the way Chukwueze does. I observed this long ago. You should see Iwobi and Musa control long balls first na. |

Mickael2: No Sir, the offside player was not in anyway interfering with play, he was meters away from where the ball landed na. You judge an offside based on if the player is interfering with play not just because he is active. You are active means you can be running like he was doing but you are interfering with play means you are directly concerned with the ball and it's movement. That was not an offside in anyway The fact that he moved towards the ball made it offside. Except there's a new rule on offside. |

So the foul that led to the goal wasn't the only foul recorded against us close to the penalty box. Watch the match again. You will notice the pressure from that place. |

somehow: They didn't get a goal from Collin's wing, it was a free-kick swung in, it wasn't the fault of Collins that we got a call against us. Collins was solid all through. Musa helped out a lot and the goal wasn't from any imbalance.
All in all, it was a good game. The foul that led to the freekick was as a result of the pressure from that side. I never said Collins wasn't solid. |

edi287: One way or the other - we needed the balance of having one wide forward and a winger if we wanted to eventually win. The Balogun sub should've been for covering whatever wing that was leaking. If we had gone to extra time - I honestly don't think we would've scored(maybe from open play) Balogun sub was to waste time and to help the back four. Your saw the giant they brought in. |
