your Nigerian railway network sterns from the British railway network design which Starts from Lagos and goes to kano to a point in sokoto(this runs on its own gauge line.then your railway link runs from Kaduna to connect another link which is Maiduguri to port Harcourt(this is another gauge)
what I am trying to say is that this rail lines are run by locomotives not electric.these rail networks are not electric power dependent but at the train stations where the offices are they run on power.

Ghana was colonized earlier. That's long before Nigeria yet all the regions had self rule in 1957 though it started since 1954.

Out of 198 million Nigeria's population 78 million are not connected. The remaining 120 million people are connected but it is still more than the population of Kenya and Ghana combined.

However, Kenya with 50 million population still has 28 million of its people living and wallowing in darkness.
