BascoVanVeli: He was aiming to block the shot instead of going for the ball. That ball was there to be won. Once Haller got a Touch there was nothing anyone could do. If Ekong had at least gone for the header it might have thrown him off. I saw that too. Ekong didn't know Haller had another option. He should had contested the ball since he arrived before Haller. |

komekn: Terem was not given any opportunity to show what he can do , he should be aggrieved. We had the opportunity to go 4-4-2 with VO and Moffi, but we opted for a negative defensive posture.
Aribo not really sure what he is midfielder or winger or what in the team ❓
Zaidu runs and has a natural left foot, what else ❓ He has zero end product and lack composure. I know the dogs abuse I got when I said he was poor. I said that about 3 years ago.
Onyedika is a very big strong and powerful brick 🧱 wall very immobile can he open up defences with clever passing and 1V1 dominance,a big NO.
It seems Onyemaechi was there for decoration, the same goes for Awaziem, Musa ( motivational speaker) Omeruo old time sake, KC was never match fit for a gruelling AFCON and had not been in form for ages.
Onuachu is an appendage it seems or a big tree 🌴 to lump the ball to when VO is exhausted. That's not very positive.
Alhassan is that player who does everything but is not good at anything. He huffs and he puffs but never blows the house 🏠 down. Very limited creativity, no physicality, nothing outstanding. That in itself is the problem, we need invention, creativity, and dominance. Alhassan promises but cannot deliver.
So what do we do ❓
We have to get quality players start early engage communicate and relate well before they BLOW 🌬️ The only playes left on my list are Onyedika and Zaidu. The rest should take a bow. Onyedika is DMF and that's primary role. If you're looking for a defence splitting midfielder, take to Oliseh to play for Nigeria. |

charlesemeka85: If iwobi haven’t made any impact in the super eagles since he made his debut under oliseh at least his goals against Cameroon in the second round that took the team to the quarter finals of 2019 afcon and the winner against Zambia at uyo that qualified us for 2018 World Cup is there for all to see
He also boast of over 70 caps in the super eagles, I wonder how a bad player will be important to a team close to a decade where every coach that takes over the team wants him Iwobi played well in some matches but yesterday, he wasn't in the game. Lost possession and misplaced passes several times but that was not his fault. It was the coach fault because he saw that with his eyes yet left him till they equalized. |

Even samu was a passenger in the first half but no one hv the guts to say that here
But if iwobi misplaces one pass or a tackle in the next few seconds it will be updated here The coach was the problem. Allowing Iwobi to continue before conceding when his tactics was to soak pressure was a very bad decision. It exposed our wingbacks and allowed them to dominate us from the midfield and wings. He should have removed him earlier and bring in a midfielder. The timing was too poor. |

They rather approach the game with brains. It is so simple but you just want to argue aimlessly.
Goodnight. But still possess it for survival. That's what Nwakali lacks. A bit of it. |

TheSuperNerd: Yaya was more power and physicality than brains. Anyone who watched him properly at Man city knew that.
Okocha could have made money at any other top club too but they just didnt want him. After PSG, it was downhill.
This Fact is proven overtime. The European clubs in the big leagues will only take in an African midfielder majorly for his workrate and physicality rather than bring him in to become the central creative brainhub of the team. They would rather bring a white boy with the cerebral qualities while the African MF compliments with his physical side.
This is the general trend but there are and have been very few exceptions (not so pronounced even). Yaya toure assists were not as the result of Intelligent passes, abi? I hear. Statis doesn't lie. The point is Okocha played for PSG a top club at least. Which one Nwakali play for? Why is Nwakali not one of the exceptions since you believe he is Pirlo incarnation? |

TheSuperNerd: I already knew the names you would name drop.
Now there were exceptions like Okocha who played for PSG. But after PSG, he went downhill... No top club wanted him. He had to settle for Bolton wanderers even in England.
Yaya Toure wasn't a Highly technical midfield player. He was an enforcer. A physical specimen who dominated plays with his power drives and physicality. He also packed very powerful precise shots. Yaya was more of a smart brawn. But he was no high cerebral.
Seydou Keita too was more workrate and physical than brains.
And yes ofcos, Our own John Mikel Obi was brains but was not picked for Chelsea because of his brains. He was rather used for his physicality and big build in a defensive role. This is why Mourinho had him converted from CAM to CDM. because of his physical stature.
The names you reeled out has proven my point with the exception of Okocha.
Physicality was the major reason they thrived for those top clubs. Mention the white cerebral players without physicality in their game. |

What stops Nwakali from playing in a top club or league? You say Yaya toure is smart brawn. If you're smart, are you not brainy? Oga no matter how you want to sugarcoat it, Yaya toure was smart, brainy etc. See his assist. Show me your brainy Nwakali assists and goals.

In the second game, he was slightly above average vs CIV in a 343.
Vs Guinea Bissau in the third game, he was just there off the bench in a 343.
He was truly out of his depths in a 343. More subdued in a 343 than he was in a 433.
The knockouts only proved it further and strongly deeper. Above average na pass mark. Meaning, he was not out of depth. |

Iwobi's best match came vs Equatorial Guinea in a 433. He was out of his depths in this 343. He was covered up for plenty times. He was not out of dept in the group stage. Please, go and watch the matches again. |

TheSuperNerd: Your words are not true from analytical viewpoints. His press resistance alone and quick Ability to switch plays won't let the Ivorians near him in the middle for all phases of plays.
The fact is the player who played the role in that middle for Nigeria underperformed because he is not a natural for that deep role. Nwakali is. Take it or leave it... 1. Peseiro's strategy is poor. Just score one and defend for your lives. Very lazy way to coach. No backup plan in case you concede, nothing.
2. Osimhen has been below par. I dare anybody to point at a single good thing that he did throughout today. Just causing fouls and limping around aimlessly. Ighalo was a FAR better and more impactful striker for us than Osimhen. Full stop. Osimhen was involved in 90% of our goals. Give him kudos. He gave Ekong the opportunity to win player of the tournament. If he took all those penalties by himself, na 3 goals and player of the tournament straight. Na Paseiro kill game. |
