"If it was not for Brendan, then I know I would not be the same player that you see at Barcelona today. Such a big part of my education is down to him and his management. Of course he works to make the team stronger but he really works on a one to one level with the players."... Luiz Suarez on Brendan Rodgers.
It doesn't change the facts on ground. Does it? grin

“If it was not for Brendan, then I know I would not be the same player that you see at Barcelona today."... Luiz Suarez on Brendan Rodgers.

"Playing in England where all the centre-backs are tall and strong, the long punt up the pitch is no good to me, but a quick ball to release me either side of them works well. Mostly, I need the ball on the floor and Brendan knew that and he also worked with me on the movements I could make to isolate defenders.

He was confident that if I could take them on one-on-one, I would be likely to beat them. He was keen to play to my strengths and my style suited his."... Luiz Suarez on Brendan Rodgers.

“He was very clever and told me that Liverpool would play possession football, as it would suit me."He helped me with my runs, arriving in the area at the right time and coming in from wide – rather than just waiting in the middle – which benefited my confidence.

“We worked hard on finding ways I could isolate players and then try to beat them, man on man. That was the only way I could succeed in England. […] If you punt a long ball up towards me and one of these [Premier League] defenders, I am not going to win it.“But the way Liverpool played, with the ball on the floor, and being released very fast to my feet, gave me a chance against the big guys. […] I wasn’t proven and I had to adapt to the Premier League, which Brendan knew."He knows all about English football and he educated me to become successful.”... Luiz Suarez on Brendan Rodgers
Does it change the fact that he was the 6th best player in the world and the highest goalscorer in the world (based on FIFA rating) before he met Brender Rodgers? Capital NO

Rules
Only the leading five countries – Spain, Italy, Germany, France and England – in the UEFA rankings have two as their multiplier. This is to emphasise the difference in (international) performance level between clubs from those countries and those of other nations.

A player cannot play first in a summer league (e.g. Norway) and then in a winter league (e.g. Spain) and combine the points totals for each season

http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/news/newsid=1639415.html

The first pic is of the 09/10 standings and the second is of 10/11.
Ok. You used UEFA rating but I used FIFA rating.

According to FIFA rating, top 8 are in the same level. grin

And that was why FIFA gave it to Luiz Suarez. GBAM. grin

Even according to this UEFA rating, Suarez was in the top 5 best in Europe according to UEFA rating. grin

Thank you very much. grin

So the best goal scorer in an inferior league automatically becomes the best in the world without proving themselves against the best teams?? So then Tresor Mputu was once the best striker in the world. Janko too.
Suarez scored 35 goals in the top 8 leagues in the Europe. Does that look inferior?

ACCORDING TO FIFA RULES. The award is for the best goal scorer in the world.

If you fullil the criteria and you are awarded the medal, you are the best striker in the world.

Pray tell me, what is the award for?

Did he replicate the same performance in the next season and a half?? Under which coach did he score over 20 goals in a much tougher league?
Again - based on the IFFHS stats you brought - do you agree Hunterlaar was the best striker in the world at 2006?? Remember Hunterlaar moved from Ajax to Madrid while Suarez moved to Liverpool.
The fact still remains that Suarez made name for himself before he met Brender. EOD

Brendan Rodgers put in a lot of work to make Suarez the player who became almost Invincible in the EPL due to playing a pattern that will bring out the best from Suarez and also took time in perfecting Suarez play to get the best out of the system. Brendan Rodgers played a big part in Suarez become a very top quality player in the EPL.
Was it Brender that made him score 49 goals in a season in Eredivise?

Was it Brender Rodgers that made him performed in the world cup?

Was it Brender Rodgers that made him to win the Most valuable player in Copa America?

Was it Brender Rodgers that made him to nominated as the 6th best player in the world?

My point is, Suarez was already made before he met Brender Rodgers. Facts

Lucas Barrios was playing in a league rated higher than Eredivise. Hunterlaar was in the same league. Again by your logic, do you agree that they were the best strikers in the world at that time?? Hunterlaar was better than Henry, Eto, Sheva, Villa, etc during 2006?
Thank you you said top 10 and not top 5. He was the highest goal scorer in europe while not playing in the epl, buli, Serie A, LA liga, etc.
No matter who you be, the rules doesn't favour any past glory. It is based on your goals in a season.

This award is not for the best player in the world. It is for the best goal scorer in world/Europe. GBAM

Actually Eredivise gets a 1.5. That alone should show you that the Eredivise wasn't a top league at that time. Suarez wasn't yet World class at Ajax. His first season and a half at Liverpool showed it. He only scored 23 and 31 the next season when surprise surprise - who was coach again?

So by your logic, Tresor Mputu, Lucas Barrios and Marco Janko were the best strikers in the world in 2007, 2008 and 2009 right?
I have one question for you - why did Messi win the european golden shoe in 2009/10 instead of Suarez despite scoring less than he did??
Was Eredivisie in the top 10 in Europe in 2010? Answer Yes or no.

Suarez was a world class striker with Ajax. It manifested in the 2010 world cup too.

Point still remains that Brender did not make Suarez world class player. Which ever way you look at it. Agree?

Why Messi won was because Messi's club played in the highest league(level 1) and that gave him 4 point while Suarez's club was in level 2 league which gave him 3 points. simple as ABC.

IFFHS is just for statistics.
That he won top division with 35 league goals in BLACK WATER league does not make him a world class.

It seems you forgot that that same 35 goals is below 27 scored in any of European top leagues. (UEFA Coefficient)

Relatively unknown players has won this top division scorer of a thing just like TP Mazembe's mputu (2007) and one Narva Trans' Cerkulajevs(2011).

Can we say that this two players mentioned above are world class?
Statistics is based on facts on ground and they are sanctioned by FIFA.

Besides, what was the ranking of Eredivisie in 2010?

Since, you are shouting back water league.

Can you name Ajax captain this season? Is he world class? How about last season? The season before?
Finally, Suarez came in 6th in the Fifa ballon dor in 2011 on the back of his performance for Liverpool and the Copa America title which he won as the player of the tournament. The accolade had absolutely nothing to do with Eredivisie or Ajax. Next time, do your due diligence before rushing to post.

Suarez under Rodgers was MUCH MUCH better than he was at Ajax and even his first season at Liverpool.

Sturridge exploded under Rodgers. Sure he was talented at Chelsea and City, but it was Rodgers that truly had faith in him as a CF.

Vic Moses just didn't work out under him. We have to remember Rodgers was after Vic Moses from as far back as when he was a youth coach at Chelsea. Rodgers even tried him out as a number 10. One thing Rodgers hinted at was that Vic Moses wasn't putting too much effort at training.
Better or not, Suarez was already a world class player before he came to Liverpool. Fact.

Suarez was the hero in the 2010 WC and that was when he was still at Ajax. Abi na lie?

My point still remains that Brender Rodgers didn't make Suarez one of the best in the world. Suarez was already one the best in the world at Ajax.

Suarez was nothing more than an interesting upcoming player while at Ajax.
He became a force and came into his full element while at Liverpool. Ajax was just a starting point for him. It's just like saying C Ronaldo was world class at Sporting Lisbon.

Youre being economical with the truth or of the hand ignorant if you believe Sturridge blossomed before Liverpool. This was a kid who couldn't find his feet at Chelsea and Man city. He hardly kicked a ball in anger at both clubs until his career turn around at Liverpool where himself, Sterling and Suarez formed a dynamic attacking trident who nearly won the league.
This unraveled before our very own eyes, but somehow to suit a narrative, you want to twist facts.

Did Salah work with Klopp, Guardiola or Simione while at Roma where he contributed something like 18 goals and 14 assists? A number Moses have failed to hit at any point in his professional career.
Do you mean the Suarez that was the 6th best player in the world when he was at Ajax was an interesting upcoming player?

Do you mean the Suarez of Ajax who was awarded the world best top leagues goal scorer in 2010 was upcoming player?

Suarez was already the best striker in World before he came to Liverpool. Fact

Ronaldo was nobody in the Portuguese league. Two different case.

Besides, you claimed Suarez could not perform the same thing in Barcelona after he left Liverpool but facts on ground proved otherwise.. GBAM

Nigeria is well known for producing some of the fastest and best dribblers in football but goalscoring is a problem for them..look at Musa,Simeon,Imoh Ezekiel.. even Okocha
As at today, Salah is miles better than Victor Moses and he could be crowned the best player in the world if Liverpool wins the UEFA Champions League or reaches the finals.

I don't know if Rogers is a good coach or not but at least under him, Suarez rose and became the best striker in the world a feat he hasn't managed to achieve since leaving for Barca. Players like Philip Coutinho, Sturridge and Sterling blossomed under Rogers, so I believe he must have known a thing or two about developing players.

I totally understand why Debryne and co left Chelsea. The club is structured on shape in or ship out, fire brigade, win or you're out, trophy mongering policy. When a club is structured on such quick fix ideals, talents wouldn't be groomed or encouraged to blossom. It wasn't Mourinh's fault entirely those guys left the club, Chelsea's policy is chiefly responsible for that.

My opinion is that Moses have worked under some very fantastic managers throughout his career that it will be demeaning if we say that he could only be improved to Sala level by only 3 managers in the world. It doesn't even make sense.
Suarez already became the best striker in the world when he was in the Eredivise before he went to Liverpool. Fact

It was not under Brender Rodgers he became the world best striker. Fact.

Suarez still became the world best striker in Barcelona after he left Liverpool. Fact

Sturridge already blossomed before he left for Liverpool.

Sterling is better than when he was under Brender. Fact

So, if you think Chelsea is hire and fire, why did Victor Moses suddenly became a world class player under Conte when he was nobody under Mourinho?

Na Chelsea's fault?

Chelsea doesn't like discarding players like that.

The truth remains that when Victor Moses worked under World class coaches known to develop players his stock rised. GBAM

Martinez and Conte are two case study.

Give Victor Moses chance under Guardiola, Simione or Klopp, he could be better than Salah. GBAM
