Just40: Did you say patriotism? 😂🤣
I've been to Abuja twice and you haven't, I've always said here that Abuja is the only place you got right even though it lacks a lot of what Accra and Lagos has but it is certainly not as beautiful as Accra. It may have a few nice properties in the FCT area but that is it I live in Abuja and I have been to Tema and Accra more than 50 times since 2000. Accra no fine reach Abuja and Lagos especially Ikoyi/V.I/Lekki axis. My Ghanaian friends who came here said the same thing though not too impressed with Lagos mainland. Even foreigners. Patriotism is good but this is reality. One oyinbo said he thought Abidjan is the most beautiful place in West Africa eventhough he has visited Accra several times and resides in Dakar but when he go VI/Ikoyi/Lekki side, fear catch am. He confessed that was the best he ever saw in West Africa. He never reach Abuja ooo. Another one who resided in Nairobi before visiting Abuja said its the most beautiful city in West Africa. He already visited Accra oooo. |

You lots who haven't been to Abuja hears Abuja and think FCT and that's it. Which Accra fine pass Abuja? Most of you don't know anything. You just open your mouth based on patriotism. All foreigners including Ghanaians that know both cities have declared severally that Abuja is the most beautiful city in sub Sahara Africa save some cities in South Africa. |

Korean economy experienced the same thing we are going through but they focused on production and citizens welfare. The reason they are very rich. Besides, Korea focused on patronizing their own products before any other. Can we say the same thing? Instead, you want to buy Italian shoe instead of Aba and Kano made shoes. You want to buy Ghana adire instead of Abeokuta Adire. You want to drive Japanese cars instead of Innoson and Nord cars and you're expecting your economy to grow. |

Just40: the person who compiled this list was drunk when doing so Who in his right Mumbai over Amsterdam and Singapore, Beijing and Montreal and Melbourne Lagos has been ranked as the 19th best city to visit in the world, according to Time Out, a British media and hospitality company that publishes guides and magazines.
Time Out said the conclusion was drawn from a survey of more than 20,000 city dwellers around the world, along with its own network of editors. Criteria used to rate the cities include food (quality and affordability), culture, nightlife, how the city makes people feel, strong community vibes, access to green space, historic sites, and much more. In the report published on Tuesday, Time Out said it worked with Potentia Insight, a research company, to strengthen the survey’s quality. South Africa’s Cape Town, Nigeria’s Lagos, and Ghana’s Accra were the only African cities that featured on the list. While Cape Town ranked second, Lagos was 19th, and Accra had the 44th position. “Whether you’re a staunch mainlander or from Lekki, there’s something for everyone in Lagos, Africa’s most populous city,” the report reads. Time Out encouraged global citizens to visit Lagos because: “Both the city and its suburbs are expanding – just check out live-work-play concept Eko Atlantic City. Just out of town, Epe, on the north side of Lekki Lagoon, is experiencing a boom”. “When it comes to standard of living, Lagos has a lot going for it – 96 percent of locals are happy, 98 percent would call Lagos beautiful and the city got a 92 percent friendliness rating, too,” the report added. The ranking also praised Victoria Island’s trifecta of swanky resorts, food haunts, and nightlife, recommended Lekki for brunchers, commended Ikeja’s Kuti’s Bistro, owned by the legendary afrobeat family, for serving up “reliably delicious food”, and cited Oniru Beach as a relaxation spot. Last year, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), a sister publication of The Economist of London, said Lagos was the fourth worst city to live in the world. |

gartamanta: Lagos is the economic engine room of Nigeria, and the most developed. It is the smallest but also the most populous state. The only state that has land border with Lagos State is Ogun State
Despite the wealth and potential of Lagos, its closest neighbour, Ogun State, never managed to tap into that wealth.
The capital of Ogun State, Abeokuta, is a glorified village. The only other places worth mentioning, Sango-Ota and Sagamu, are nothing to write home about.
Why is it that Ogun State never developed to the level of Lagos, despite being closest to Lagos? Abeokuta is far more developed than all the state capital in the South save Ikeja, Port Harcourt and Ibadan not to talk of Sango-Ota and Sagamu. Besides, Magboro, Mowe/Ibafo, Arepo, Ijebu Ode etc are very developed. Maybe you are not aware the first 3 aforementioned places are along Lagos Ibadan expressway. Travel. |
