For all the numerous mentions I have received here today. Guess what? I didn't read any cos I don't care.

I don't know how someone will bring me into an argument I was not involved in.

I will continue to analyze my football the way I have always done.
Not so fast. grin

@bolded suggest otherwise looking at your past comments. grin

You were busy looking out for who is from one particular section of the country. Abi dat one too na Football analyses? grin

Initially, they said I am PRO-YORUBA but when facts began to stair dem 4 faces dat I have defended players from all sections of the country, they coined 'na Igbo hater' smh! grin

Where dem see me mention Igbo for this thread, even in politics section, I avoid addressing people by tribe. In short, I coined the word Westerner, Easterner etc on this forum. grin

Record is there for all to see... Heee! Some has been deleted due to the attack on Nairaland. grin

I go show snapshot of all the parts of the country I have died for here and no one should change mouth when dem see the people dem suppose I hate. grin

One even said I stopped talking about Ebuehi because of Aina when it's dam obvious that I have not been active on this thread for months. shocked shocked grin grin

Is Aina even eligible to play for Nigeria? No shocked grin

Then, how can I talk about one who is not cleared by FIFA for a crucial match against Cameroon? grin

Some people mind shallow, Walahi! grin

Below is the snapshot of the genesis of name or tribe checker. Guess who? grin

Joseph and I had a heated argument about who is better between Solanke and Iheanacho.

My opinion then and even till date is that Solanke is a better player than Kelechi.

Remember, Solanke never win U20 World player of the Tournament ooooooo but I still knew he was that good.

Behold, Solanke is benching experienced and more expensive players than himself at LIVERPOOL.... I no go talk further.... grin

You all know the rest.

But Icon4s, with his google of tribalism started pointing to tribalism when there was nothing of such.

Abi na Tribalism carry Solanke reach where em dey. grin

People who cry tribalism are weak minded souls looking for the easiest way to shun and shut down a reasonable and constructive argument. grin

@forgiveness, always blowing things out of proportion to support your narrative.

First of all, Amokachi's claim was that people paid cash to play. That is not nepotism.

On "chance and opportunity happening to those in the National team", there is no occupation or nation in the world where this is not the case. Even in the corporate world in the most advanced countries, opportunity will have to be seized and not necessarily by the best people. The question to ask is "are they are good enough"?. David villa has been invited back to the Spanish national team. Are there no better strikers in the whole of spain? is that also Nepotism? Mutiu Adepoju made the 2002 world cup team list. What did he do to merit that place? It suits you to always highlight the isolated negatives to justify your view point. What you end up doing is poisoning people's minds. You are doing more to stoke the fire of tribalism than those you are accusing
People paid cash na still corruption.

How? I am only stating the obvious. This is a critical time to dialogue and not die in pretence as if all is well. grin

You have just bustressed my point that chance and only chance happens to all. grin

My friend, it is not someone like me that you can deceive with all these your comments. I know virtually everyone here.

Please try avoid making statements here that can spark off ethnic combats. You have no moral justification to make that kind of comment on Rohr and the NFF.

No section of the country will feel happy when such allegations are put forward against them.

Even if you feel aggrieved that your section of the country is not getting a fair share there are better ways of going about it and just know also that all sections of the country cannot have equal represent in the national team.
The truth is you don't know the cause of the debate. EOD

If I do not have moral justification to express my thought about a public officer as enshrined in the Constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria then who has?

I have told you plain and clear that, if Rohr and his cronies continues to ignore good players doing well in Europe, I will point it out. GBAM!

Today there was an agitation in Aba, why? Some people want to maintain the magogo way hence the ventilation of anger and agitation springing up left right and center.

Do not assume I feel aggrieved some section of the country is not having a fair share due to their inability or lack of talent but I feel aggrieved that such act can never propell our nation team to the greatest height.

This is simply my worries and I will do anything in my little way through this mighty forum to propagate my course. Shikena!

@forgiveness, it is unfortunate that the lens through which you view matters is this jaundiced. Does this make you a “tribalist”? I say No? Does this keep you from having a constructive argument? I think so.

If Rohr was an Igbo man, you would have accused him of tribalism. If he was a Yoruba man, tribalism wouldn’t fit the tag, hence the appropriate label will be that his selections are for pecuniary gains. Now that Rohr is not a Nigerian and it is clear that he is not here for the money, you needed to find another label to tag him.

This approach to explaining other people’s actions which are at odds with your world view will keep you from seeing the best in other people and further help you assess and reshape your own thinking. To the hammer, every problem seems like a nail. I have learnt to ignore many of your accusations, at the same time learning from you as well. One thing you fail to realize is that the human heart has reasons that reason cannot comprehend and it has nothing to do with tribalism. The yorubas will say “Differences in human preference is the reason why two brothers would not desire the same woman”. As someone who claims to throw facts around, please desist from making strong accusations wit, I mean things you are sure of and not hearsay
First @bolded suggested that I make comments from the bitterness of my soul and that I don't have critical thinking of my constructive argument. Far from it, my Oga. My mind is very clear and sound enough to make a constructive argument devoid of jaundice or parochial scope.

Let me make myself clear like I made myself cleared to Icon4s.

I don't have any problem with Rohr's list though raised eyebrows against Kayode's exclusion based on the obvious on ground.

Nevertheless, the same people pointing accusing fingers are those against Rohr's list. How? Fishing out Onazi, Simon Moses and Ahmed Musa from Rohr's list and tagging them 'past glory players.' They are bent on casting them out of the team without giving any cogent reason for this.

However, I just took dem by their word by referring to some players who have done nothing of note this season, and I also tagged them 'past glory players'. Do you know what happened afterward?

I was called a tribalist. grin

So, should I also call them a tribalist because the players they wanted to replace with the aforementioned players are from their divide? grin

My brain told me not to do that but rather go into a healthy debate before one pounced on me from nowhere with the attached label of a tribalist. grin

My point is for them to have a critical thinking about the so called 'past glory theory' and not necessarily to remove Iheanacho (I dey crazy) and Onyekuru from list. All my gesture was sacartiscm at best. E.0.D

I have seen the list days or hours before yesterday but I never mused or altered a word.

But I am bewildered that some see it as a sacrilege to omit Iheanacho from the list but as a privilege to omit Ahmed Musa from the list, on the grounds that Iheanacho is an old member of the national team. shocked grin

Is Ahmed Musa a toddler in the National team? grin

Now, to the second @bolded. Rohr to me is a puppet because he seems not to know the right players to use in a match set up. Using players wrongly in their positions is absurd and unacceptable.

If you say there's nothing like tribalism in the National team or no nepotism and corruption, please state it clearly or plainly for the world to see then I go mellow. grin

@bolded 3, By the grace of God, I know a sound judgment and I know what is good.

You can remember, I defended Dominic Solanke, Onomah, Ademola-lookman, Agbo, Tiago Ilori etc even when many didn't see any good in dem, but I stood my ground and today these players are doing well for themselves. As you can see, I can see the best in others hence my calm approach in dealing with people here. grin

And lastly, 4th @bolded, Amokachi said there is bribery and corruption in the selection of players. What does it mean?

Joebie:
The problem with tribalism is the same as racism. We are raised up to have these sentiments. We are not born with the sentiments. Which is why a section of the country may feel short changed in any specific sector in the country, even though evidences show that it is not entirely true. For example I am not an Igbo person, and I'm sure i've had only few people from my tribe ever play for SE, but the fact remains that Igbos have produced most of the talents in Nigeria especially in recent times. The Okochas, Nwankwo's etc did not make it to Nigeria's respective teams because of their tribe but their talent. If I am making a case for any player to be invited I don't think tribe, but when someone starts hyping a player I would start to think in my head, why the hype? You don't have to say much, let stats do the talking. The first thing that comes to my mind is to check that person's tribe because that's how we are. Stats speak. If you give me the stats, I will concede without suspicions. But for one to say this player is better than that player, what is your yardstick? These things are debatable, but don't ever shift the goal post next time when defending your tribesmen.

I've called for Adegbenro, who I believe is yoruba. I loved what I saw, and I posted the videos here. I've called for Emenike, even though I didn't like his style during his playing days. And my reason was simply we needed that energy in attack. And since we have someone like Nwakame, I don't think we have much to worry. That's got nothing to do with tribe. Besides, these are not my tribesmen. Aaron Samuel have been called upon. His past stats with SE is not bad. But at club level, he hasn't done much. So the reason, maybe his physicality again -- granted. No foul play.

I've called for our foreign-born players, because I believe we need to win the war because in future we may be lacking again, but we will have them at our disposal. Is Tammy better than Dessiers? it's too early to say. Are they better than our home based players? I can't say. But they are plying their trade at a higher stage, so they have the advantage especially as our league is whack.

Really, there is no need for the emotions, unless you have some sentiments. Discuss with your facts, and whoever can't back up their assertions, should concede. Then I don't think anyone will call others tribalistic.

John Obuh is not yoruba. But Kayode and Ajagun were among his boys. My brother there are so many examples that point to the fact that these coaches cannot ignore talent when they want to succeed. Even those saying Siasia has his boys, but how many of his players where Ijaws? Keshi wasn't tribalistic, although I didn't like some of his decisions at the time. I felt he was doing some underhand business with agents.

I agree that tribalism CAN be a factor with our indigenous coaches, but it's not a big factor in their selection, and there should be no room for those suspicions especially when we have Rohr in charge.
If you claim there's no nepotism in the National team, you can ask Amokachi. He was there and confessed oh ha!

In this light, at least drew my postulations and assertions to state my comments, and besides NFF is public office, therefore not immune or exempted from public criticism.

However, it's vividly clear that chance and opportunity happens to those in the National team. It's not necessary because they are the best talent in the whole Nigeria. This is because we can see when see many players doing exceptional well in Europe despite been ignored by the National team selector. grin

In short, they doing better than all we raised so far. grin

Your mission here is clearly defined. IE to kick against the perceived injustice against your tribesmen both in the NFF and Super Eagles. And more so to kick against the perceived dominance of a particular ethnic group in Nigerian football.

You dey fall my hand big time.

You have carried over the hating of the ibos from the politics section to this place. Mind you, I am not from the SE.

You are about the first person I was convinced about his ethnicity here. Right from your first few comments here your mission was clear. I recall oga icon4s clearly told you that from your comments he knew you are from a particular section of the country. I remember how you denied you were Yoruba. Lying.

Joseph1013 who has dissapointedly become your attorney also accused you of being a defender of "awon omo Odua". Joseph I lie? So why the turn around. It is very obvious you are both tribes men.
There are people I respect a lot on this thread. One of such is tbaba1234. From his comments on other threads I deduce where he is from but he does not display it here at all. Even the icon4s that you like pointing fingers at as being tribalistic, not until when he stated where he is from I didn't even know. I know you don't like him because he is the only person and perhaps safarigirl and recently humility017 that have openly accused you of tribalism. Please let's not turn this thread to a battle field of ethnic warlords and tribal champions. As an adult I have my own political views which I forget about when I talk about football.

I have had disagreements with forgiveness in the past especially when he claimed Thiago Ilori was better than the current defenders we have in the Super Eagles. I had an incline that there was a tribal colouration to his position but I countered him facts and figures.
If he says Kayode is better than Onyekuru or Nwakaeme and you think otherwise, bring your data to back up your claims while he brings his. That way we maintain the integrity of the thread and bystanders can actually learn a thing or two.

I actually don't take it too serious what forgiveness says sometimes, I see him as the chaos factor and court jester of the thread. Every successful forum have these sort of posters. Even Kickoff some people are making reference to have posters like forgiveness whose diverse opinions made Kickoff what it was.
Personally I wouldn't want forgiveness to quit the thread.

By the way, Congratulations to D'tigress. The team looks good to make a statement at the world championships. They have been shooting teams into submission throughout this championship, they can easily blow out Senegal just like they did at the group stages.

brother do you actually know the meaning of tribalism? I am pretty sure that you have seen the messages where he was saying that when the coaches of the youth teams will be released only one part of the country will be favoured, is that not a comment borne entirely out of tribalism? see, are you this unintelligent that you are arguing that until you prove him wrong, his tribal-inclined comments are no longer what they are? oga, once you make a comment that suggests your preference towards one part if the country, whether it was countered or not, that is pure tribalism.

now let me dissect that coaching aspect. Manu Garuba was the coach at some point, same goes for Obuh and even Ladan Bosso. the problem with that comment is that we have been doing well at youth level, does it matter which part of the country these guys are from? I thought what we need are the best, not just the best people that have something to offer, does it matter where these people are from? I cannot draw a formation for the SE without including Kayode and excluding Iheanacho entirely, talent wise Nacho is easily the best and on top of that he is from my part of the country, but I believe Kayode is more suitable for that position so I vouch for him. I have been calling for the inclusion of the younger wingers like Olayikan ahead of Iwobi as a winger in fact, the point here is that the best is all that matters. if the NFF decides to hire Yoruba coaches for all the national teams what do I care? so long as they function well we pop a bottle together and celebrate the team. coming here to tell us,without any meaningful fact I must add, that the NFF favours one part of the country portrays tribalism, EOD

Na dere I begin observe his words. Before then and even now, I care less who or where the coach comes from so far decorum and distinction are used as the yardsticks for picking players.

Recall his comment when asked abt y he took Adepoju(hu was virtually called back frm retirement) and Opabunmi to the 2002 WC when it was obvious they were nt good enough at that time to make d team.Remember he dropped Finidi George, Sunday Oliseh, Tijani Babangida and Victor Ikpeba. The Nigerian press tagged him a tribalist nt jst bc he picked Opabunmi and Adepoju ahead of the above mentioned Golden generation Eagles bt bc of the ethnocentric reason behind his decision. It was d Ibadan connection though Onigbinde is from Modakeke bt was based in Ibadan jst like Adepoju and Opabunmi.

U remember what he said when appointed Shooting stars coach for the 2003/2004 season? He said he wanted to build a 3SC team that will comprise only of the Yoruba players. 3SC managed to escape relegation that season and Onigbinde was fired grin.
Have u noticed he is d last Yoruba to coach d Super Eagles.

Although i still respect that man a lot. U know he laid d foundation for the rise of Gambian football.
I said it clearly that I am only addressing those who believe Onazi, Simon Moses and Ahmed Musa were called based on past glory theory and that I never wanted Iheanacho, Iwobi or Onyekuru to be dropped. Simple. grin

But I am surprised how people here reacted and are still reacting on top nothing. grin

Hate kwa! Bhuuuhahaha! shocked grin

What part of the divide are you for or against? Don't lie. grin

How come you do not hate the man who brought up the tribalism topic when it was obvious that I was sarcastical in my comments?

Oh! Hate has block your sense of reasoning!? shocked grin

My guy today na Sunday and I believe you went to stand before almighty God with the hate in your soul against forgiveness whom you know not. *sign of cross*. Asibokwa!

Well, I am too busy to spend valuable hours digging up one I formation from over a year ago.

Just call your Yoruba brother to order. He is messing up this thread.
That makes you a babbler and a slanderous fellow if you have no tangible facts to back it up. grin

However, what makes you different from a confirmed tribalist? grin

This is public forum created by.... finish it. grin

On this note, I go continue to answer my mentions judiciously. grin

Chai. So what paints me as a tribalist from that comment. I only stated the antecedents that played out then.

I am not a member of the NFF board. I just stated the obvious about the coaching appointments.
Volen ti non fit injuria meaning he who consent can't complain. grin

You are guilty from all point of view. grin

I recall telling forgiveness that I accused Siasia of having his boys. Same goes for Keshi but I never called it Nepotism. Look at the mix of boys we call Siasia's boys are they all from one Ethnic group? But forgiveness called it Nepotism reasons for which we know.

You can call me a tribalist for all you care. You can ignore any tribalist chants from your Allie also but we know the truth.
Who are the we? grin

List dem for the world to see. I hope they are not from your.....? shocked grin

Excuse me.

Please don't bring me into this current matter.

I have been on this thread now since inception and I can tell you I know the thinking pattern of almost everyone here.

You don't need to defend anybody. Let him defend himself except if you are telling us you share same sentiments with him.

He went on self imposed exile and we have been enjoying discussions without seeing that word 'tribalism'. He is back and that word keeps coming up.
Even accusing Rohr of cultism just because he didn't include certain players from a certain part of the country. I don't blame anyone for accusing him of tribalism.
Icon4s:

Hahahahahah! An initiator, an actor, a mover and a perpetrator of tribalism trying so hard to exempt himself from his evil devices. shocked grin

How can you be forgotten so soon, just like that, and not be remembered for your inventory skills in the act of tribalism, oh ha!? shocked grin

Your report card is ready. It's yours but some of your cronies are sympathetically behind you despite your obvious title bestowed on your head as a crown, written 'I AM THE KING OF TRIBALISM'. grin

forgiveness my guy
you don come back?
Hahahahahah!

Honestly speaking, I just dey peep this thread before I see where people dey clamor for the exclusion of Onazi, Simon Moses and Ahmed Musa because they believe they were called based on past glory theory but when I begin teach dem say pass glory theory no go favour dem bois, and wen dey begin see see facts, na em dem eyes clear, come dey call me tribalist. grin

I am just taking them by their theory but they are now fighting tooth and nail to save dem bois from the same theory dey coined. grin

If the aforementioned players are 'past glory' then I am right to say Iheanacho, Onyekuru, Iwobi etcetera etcetera are past glory players according to their theory (nobi my own ooo) because they have done nothing of note this season. grin

About me coming back, I dey kampe full ground. grin

You and forgiveness are obviously from the same ethnic group. This is just a solidarity comment.
Firstly, you exempted yourself by declaring you are not from one particular section of the country. Na who ask you? shocked grin

Now, you are obviously been sympathetic towards Safarigirl, Icon4s (even though he was the initiator of tribalism here, you want fact?) and others who coincidentally and obviously are from the same ethnic group. shocked grin What a coincident? shocked grin

Can I say your comments are just solidarity on their behalf? shocked grin

If u truly were there at kickoff ( which I was one of the e-war Lords fighting Ghanaians and SAs), then u must know this moniker "denonso1", the exact replica of honorable sir Forgiveness here. I miss Game147 and my fellow warrior Colynzo though
denonso1 ideology and mind are like two separate polls.

I followed kickoff for donkey years as an observer though became a member few months before it was closed down.

My point, I no dey cause trouble but I go give you facts. grin
