Guardiola To Iheanacho – You Will Leave Man City On One Condition Not Buy-Back ClauseJune 13, 2017 Nigeria IMG_2892 Kelechi Iheanacho could remain at Manchester City beyond this summer despite interest in his services from top clubs like West Ham, Everton and Crystal Palace, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal. 20 year old Iheanacho has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad since Gabriel Jesus became eligible to play for the team as he is now third choice forward with Sergio Kun Aguero ahead of him. West Ham United agreed a fee with Manchester City for his transfer but disagreements over the fee and duration of a buy back option City wants in the deal held up the proposed move. From then till now, City have hardened their stand on his possible exit following the frustrations they have suffered in their bid to strengthen their squad in the attack. ” Guardiola is no longer keen on letting him go unless a replacement is signed. As it stands now City only have Jesus and Aguero, considering the amount of games the team will play next season they need more than two strikers”, his intermediary told Owngoalnigeria.com. ” He could yet leave but the club must have his replacement signed before he leaves, he has been told in clear terms and he understands that is why he has said severally that he is staying at the club. ” Iheanacho wants to play but he has a five year deal with Manchester City, so they hold the ace. He is very young and still has a long way to go, even though he wants to move to where he is sure of getting games, City will have the final say”. West Ham Readying Second Bid For Arsenal Linked Striker Henry, Remain In The Hunt For KelechiPublished: June 12, 2017 West Ham Readying Second Bid For Arsenal Linked Striker Henry, Remain In The Hunt For Kelechi Premier League side West Ham are preparing a second bid for in-demand Nigerian striker Henry Onyekuru. A seven million pounds bid from the Hammers was rejected outright as it failed to meet Eupen's asking price, but the London Stadium outfit remain keen on the youngster. ''West Ham are going to put in a second bid for Henry Onyekuru, they will also bid for Kelechi,'' a top source told allnigeriasoccer.com. ''The first bid was rejected because Eupen believe he is worth more money, but West Ham are very keen on Henry.'' Onyekuru, 20, has yet to make his competitive debut for the Nigerian national team, therefore, interested Premier League teams must pay a hefty fee otherwise he won't be issued a work permit in England. Arsenal, Newcastle United and Swansea City are believed to be monitoring the situation of Onyekuru with a view to a transfer in the summer transfer window. Youngest-Ever Nigerian To Play In Premier League Confirms Liverpool, Arsenal InterestPublished: June 12, 2017 Youngest-Ever Nigerian To Play In Premier League Confirms Liverpool, Arsenal Interest Liverpool are among the Premier League teams interested in signing Sweden U21 international of Nigerian descent Joel Asoro in the summer transfer window. Reacting to reports linking him with a move to these teams, Asoro told Fotbollskanalen : ''It's crazy. I've heard that the clubs are interested, but then they do not know if it's more than that. ''It is clear that it is always fun that teams like Arsenal show interest. It raises self-esteem, but I can not run around and think about it now. ''I'm in the Euro and maybe there would have been another thing if I had been in England. Now I'm here and try to think about it.'' Asoro became the youngest player of Nigerian descent to feature in the Premier League when he came off the bench against Middlesbrough in August 2016, aged 17 years and 117 days. Forget Iheanacho... Ex-Super Eagles Coach Gives NFF One Last Chance To Grab Genuine No 9 OhiPublished: June 13, 2017 Forget Iheanacho... Ex-Super Eagles Coach Gives NFF One Last Chance To Grab Genuine No 9 Ohi Ex-Super Eagles coach Lars Lagerbäck did his former employers, the Nigeria Football Federation, a big favour when he did not hand a debut to former Manchester City trialist Ohi Omoijuanfo in Norway's 1-1 draw with Czech Republic in a World Cup qualifier last weekend. Assuming Ohi, who wore the number seven jersey on the bench, figured against the Czechs in Oslo, he would have become cap-tied to his country of birth Norway. The window is still open for the Stabæk frontman to represent the Super Eagles and he has refused to rule out the possibility. ''Hey, hey. Yes, that means so,'' Omoijuanfo told Nettavisen when asked about the possibility of playing for Nigeria. He added : ''I do not think I was far from getting my debut against the Czech Republic either, but an early injury to Reginiussen meant that we had to make an early swap. 'If we had had three changes to the end, I'm pretty sure I'd also gotten a debut.'' With Lars Lagerback expected to make some changes in Tuesday's friendly against Sweden, everything indicates that Omoijuanfo will make his senior debut for the Norwegian national team. http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/889634068?-21310:11479:1 |

Then u have mind to come put Iheanacho in the same bracket, a £24 million rated player at that. Don't u think u are contradicting urself? Isaac Success was player of the year at his club in Spain, if his manager doesn't like him what do u expect him to be able to do? There is nothing wrong if Isaac Success manager doesn't like him but there is problem if Solanke's club doesn't like him for refusing to sign contract. How much was Iheanacho bought by Manchester United? Chikili money. |

TheGoodJoe: Another nice info that has bothered me since the appointment of Coach Rohr. His back room staffs from Nigeria. Most especially Alloy Agu and Salisu Yusuf. Rohr needs a tactician to work with him. Mourinho had Villas-Boas, Benitez had Pako Ayesteran, Rijkaard had Henk Ten Cate, Ancelotti had Paul Clemens etc.
My pick is Emmanuel Amunike because of his modern methods fits the pattern I feel Rohr intends for the team. With ball playing/passing defensive set up (including the defensive midfielder). Amunike actually played under such system and always coaches his team to play that way.
Although Siasia plays a similar brand of football, I am more comfortable with Amunike.
Rohr needed a simple advice. Iheanacho is making the runs when the pass is hit and always ahead of the defenders. We need someone in the hole to give him more accurate passes and we will tear the South Africans apart.
If we are maintaining the same formation, either Etebo or Onazi leaves (preferably Onazi),Etebo takes a deeper role and Iwobi takes the attack midfield position. Musa comes in for Onazi. We would have been stronger with the set up.
_________________Akpeyi __________Ekong_________Awaziem Shehu______________________________Echiejile _______________Ndidi _______________________Etebo ___________________Iwobi Musa_____________________________Simon _________________Iheanacho
This was the first preferred switch I expected. I know wan see Emmanuel Amuneke's leg for that team. Person wey no fit win for U20 na em go come dey coach for the National team? Siasia or John Obuh (my favorite). Alloy Agu should be thrown out of the national team. He's not interested in the progress of the national team but his pocket else he would have gone for better keepers in the National League. |

TheGoodJoe: At least you are getting to see my Point but missed to highlight where the problem came. Let us start with what you said about Kayode being in good position but not getting a good pass. That was what I said immediately Rohr did the changes.
The problem was not in the striker. You admit this after a third time watch. That is why I kept saying watch the game again because most missed the problem.
Now to Iheanacho. You say he was standing in the exact spot. I have said that repeatedly. Watch when the ball is hit. He was not offside, moved for the ball but the ball was over hit. It was there for the taking. He was shoulder to shoulder with the defenders. Every time the ball was over hit barring the later one where he moved early to try to meet the over hit ball. The young man knew at that point he was not going to get a good pass with the midfield. Notice in that offside run, Iheanacho got the ball. With better timed passes, he would have gotten repeated clean chances to tear the South Africans apart.
Next time watch the failed final balls. That is the key. In those balls, with the runs Iheanacho made. You will see clearly the chances we had to wrap that game up in the first half and why the young man got frustrated. Because Iheanacho knew he was not going to get good pass from the midfield, he decided to stand like tree for one place, ba. Bhuuuhahaha! Your analyses is not doing the boy any good. You are just compounding the issue and making him look like an arrogant kid who thinks he has finally arrived. We saw his arrogant reactions when he was yanked out. Oga, Iheanacho will not start the next match because he despised everybody including your humble self. This is my line up for the next match ................................. Enyeama/Ikeme ...... Aina.......... Ekong....... Balogun........... Echiejile ......................... Agu/Onazi .................. Mikel ........ Victor Moses................Aluko/Iwobi ......... Simon/Etebor ..................................... Ideye Modified |

That was obviously an error. But you saw where I mentioned that Kayode combined with Musa.

Icon4s: Your first paragraph is just the summary of why our attack could not break down the SA defense.
For eg in that first half Iheanacho was practically kept off on several occasions. There were through balls from the midfield in that first half but they were either intercepted by their organized CB pairing or they kept Iheanacho off.
To rescue the situation, Iwobi had to play wide to pull usually two of the defenders to him. Expecting a disorganization of the CB pairing which could have given room for Iheanacho to operate. But his lack of athletism limited him to wide positions plus the SA defenders made sure he never made progress into the their 18yards box.
Etebo in an attempt to break the defence started making solo runs - what he is known for but his finishing touches let him down as he was always putting himself in a difficult position to aim at goal. Etebo's problem now I think is the 'Jack of all trade but master of none'. I think we need to define the role he will play for the national team and confine him to it. I recommend the CM. The role he played against Algeria.
Simon Moses has not improved a bit. He is not a starter IMO. He tried to use his skill and pace to outwit the SA defenders but his crosses were either not timely or too wide. At a point he was just playing crosses not directly targeting any player and expecting a miracle to happen.
Iheanacho was not much involved in the game. The major highlight I have of him was the pass he gave to Etebo that he missed. Secondly were the countless times he was caught in off side positions. The SA coach probably after seeing Iheanacho at City has understood that the only way to stop him from playing is not to allow the balls to get to him. We saw that happen several times at City this season. Iheanacho rides on the back of good Atracking midfield and wings play. He is still our most lethal finisher.
Kayode substituting Iheanacho was when the game ended for Nigeria.
Let me analyse Rohr's thinking before the substitution: We were on a 4-3-3 formation and under sparadic attacks from SA. Depleting the midfield further by removing either Iwobi or Simon would spell more doom. In the balance of play SA was having the upper hand in the midfield at that point in time. He left the two wingers and pulled out Iheanacho with the expectations that Kayode who is more of a natural striker than Iheanacho would have been able to use his pace and skills to outwit the SA defenders on a one on one basis. Alas it turned out that Rohr over estimated Kayode's abilities. At a time in the game I asked if Kayode was still on that field.
Musa's introduction was to introduce more direct play as Iwobi was practically kept wide and we made more incursion into the SA defense as he was even able to combine well on one or two occasions with Kayode. But the player to finish those moves was not there. Had Iheanacho been kept in the game.... who knows?
Osimhen, was the final trow of the die. We were 2-0 down already and so he just had to gamble by pulling out Simon. Osimhen made some good touches and edge of the box moves but not good enough to make anything happen.
Mikel and V. Moses would have obviously made the difference. What the SA defenders did was to keep Iwobi and Simon in wide positions something Moses would have been able to break with his dribbling skills, pace and direct play. Mikel would have been able to break down the organised SA defense with his dribbling skills, ball holding and shielding abilities plus timely release of the ball for Iheanacho.
If it is doable I would have pleased with God to take Mikel's age back to at least 25!. We are not ready to move on without him.
All these wahala was bc we met a very organized defense.
Then also I think Rohr spent more time focusing on our strength and not much on SA's weaknesses while reverse was the case for SA.
I have the belief that we still qualify. We can also beat SA away.
I wish Ikeme, Balogun, Mikel And Moses quick recovery. They are the back bone of the team. August in not far away again. . Mickael2: oga is it that you cannot comprehend simple English?
He said Musa and Kayode linked up well, he said the SA defence confined Iwobi to the wide areas alone. Guy you are getting outta control I swear Can you please explain the @bolded Mr grammar? |

I wish Ikeme, Balogun, Mikel And Moses quick recovery. They are the back bone of the team. August in not far away again. Seriously! Did dis man watch the match? 1, There was no time Iwobi moved to the wing to rescue the game. He was designated to play on the wings from onset. Likewise Iheanacho was designated to play the no9 role. 2, Etebor was designated to play as the ATM role from the onset but he failed woefully. Now, ya eyes don clear he is jack of all trades made possible by the Nigerian coaches. He is neither good as a CM. Play him as a left winger then you will see the American wonder in him. Take it to the bank. 3, Simon Moses was the only player opening the space but his crosses are for big strikers with ability on the air and he was the one that tested the keeper who made a fine save. As you can see, Iheanacho is not a complete striker. In short he is not a striker. Period. All analyst rated Moses highly but na for here I dey read different thing. 4, Iheanacho is not a starter for the no 9 shirt in the National team. He brings nothing to the table since he was moved to that position. If there is no space for him as a second striker then he must sit on the bench. Period. We can't continue with this try and error wey dey kill people. 5, Oga, Iwobi was not on the field when Kayode came in for Iheanacho. I no know where you saw Kayode played with Iwobi. When Kayode came in for Iheanacho, it was Ahmed Musa and Moses Simon on the flank and we saw we almost scored goals which was practically missing when Iheanacho was on the field. Ndidi and Etebor wasted those chances with their selfish play. Go and watch the match again with open mind and stop being confused. Thank you. |

Na still wetin we don wey many people no fit see because of settlement. June 11, 2017 5 Reasons Why Super Eagles Got Humiliated By Bafana BafanaThe Super Eagles lost for the first time in a competitive game to South Africa on Saturday in front of the Nigerian team's home fans in Uyo. Completesportsnigeria.com's JOHNNY EDWARD, who was in Uyo to witness the hugely embarrassing Africa Cup of Nations qualifier defeat, outlines the major reasons for the poor result… 1. Iheanacho can't play as a false nine for Super EaglesKelechi Iheanacho has been the most prolific forward for the Super Eagles since he made his debut in 2016, scoring six goals in nine matches. But he has failed to click playing as a false nine. The Manchester City forward has thrived playing alongside a natural striker who could run into spaces for him to operate. Iheanacho sparkled in training for the Super Eagles because the Eagles had no recognised striker with pedigree playing with the senior national team. Since Rohr was taking a big risk of his young side he could have well taken the gamble on Kayode Olanrewaju or Victor Osimhen whom he listed on the substitutes bench for the Eagles. 2. The defence of the Super Eagles not organised enoughChidozie Awaziem made his competitive debut for the Super Eagles and was average against South Africa. The Porto B defender did not form a good understanding with William Troost-Ekong who he partnered in the heart of the Eagles defence. Awaziem was caught off guard several times when the South African launched counter-attacks. He also did not also fill in for the left-back Elderson Echiejile when Echiejile joined the attack. Echiejile also was far from his best during the game. As the most senior player in the team, Echiejile failed to marshal his defence. The young Eagles defence were culpable for the first goal while they lacked the pace to catch up with South African full-back who got behind the Eagles defence at will. 3. Eagles lacked creativity in midfieldDespite the array of attacking talent Gernot Rohr had at his disposal, the Super Eagles lacked creativity from the midfield. The likes of Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho were off colour during the encounter and John Ogu who was left out of the squad for the game could have offered the Eagles some sort of attacking threat going forward when the Oghenekaro Etebo and Wilfred Ndidi fizzled out in the second half. There was no creative move orchestrated from the midfield and coach Gernot Rohr paid dearly for his overreliance on Iwobi, Iheanacho and Moses Simon in attack. 4. Gernot Rohr got his tactics wrongKeeping a versatile player like John Ogu out of the the squad cost the Super Eagles quality substitution options during the game. The midfield trio of Ogenyi Onazi, Oghenekaro Etebo and Wilfred Ndidi fielded by coach 5. Lack of experience in the team It was obvious that the Super Eagles lacked experience to maintain the pressure to break the resolute South African side who were determined to get something from the game. The big players like Mikel Obi, Odion Ighalo and Victor Moses that missed out could have offered valuable options in midfield and in attack. There was no game calmer in the starting line-up neither was there any game changer. Read more at http://www.completesportsnigeria.com/64668-2/#GdhzLGl3mldkFsQK.99 |

BascoVanVeli: Why do u keep asking such a childish question? Our whole argument started with me saying I don't think he deserved the award so of course I have acknowledged who the golden ball winner is. Thank you. EOD |

BascoVanVeli: If u say Dominic Solanke is better than Iheanacho then u must be smoking crack. Iheanacho has more talent in his left toe for crying out loud. Bhuuuhahaha! Who is the current best player of the upgraded youth competition U20 WC? |

BascoVanVeli: I don't blame FIFA because the golden ball winner is mostly taken from the last 4 but it would take not having eyes to even talk out loud that Dominic had a better tournament than Fashion. The quality of their goals scored is like comparing Tiwa Savage to Beyoncé.
U always say good things about past legends even wanting to bring some back but u never say good things about the current crop. U are very sentimental, u are the same guy who made the Dominic is better than Iheanacho argument, even the boy's uncle would know better. Who is the best player of the Tournament? All those ones we you dey talk na story. I say good things about what I know is not complete. At least, yesterday you got the message. If I say Dominic Solanke is better than Iheanacho, what is the problem? At least, Dominic is living the hype. Take heart. |

Dedebanky85: Which Tammy Anraham is in the bag? Cos thw only one I know of that was on loan at bristol from chelsea is in the English under21 camp training with them for the Euros. So you can appreciate his talent but don't mix fantasy with reality. That guy's not in any Nigerian bag and would not. As long as it's U21 no problem. He is in the bag. |

EEGA: Super Eagles lack quality upfront - South Africa coach, Baxter mocks Nigerian players dailypost.ng Jun 11, 2017 9:03 PM Stuart Baxter, coach of the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, has mocked Nigerian Super Eagles after their 2-0 loss in Uyo on Saturday in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The Englishman said that much as the Super Eagles controlled the match, especially in the early stages, the team lacked the required quality upfront.
Speaking to South African media on Sunday, Baxter noted that with good cutting edge in front of goal, the score line would not have been bad for the Super Eagles.
“We are still relishing that result and it is good that we win. I am so happy because I just joined the team back and it is good we start well for the AFCON qualifiers.
“I will still say kudos to the Nigerians because they stretched us and made some dangerous movements. But if I may sound very respectful and modest, their attack was not the very best they could have presented.
“They were without quality frontline, otherwise, they could have scored in the early exchanges but like I said earlier, it is good that my players responded very well in the match,” he said.
Nigeria is currently third in the qualifying group behind leaders, Libya, and South Africa and will play Seychelles, who lost 1-5 to Libya in their next encounter. I no tell una. |

BascoVanVeli: Guy I will never be a victim especially of urs. If u don't have one good thing to say about a single SE player then u should have ur own national team that's just the way I see it. I don't mind u asking for Dominic to be given a chance but saying he is better than anyone one is a lie.
Best player in the tournament was Fashion Sakala u can't even compare their 4 goals with each other. Fashion Sakalu is the best player of the Tournament according to the gospel of BascoVanVeli and not FIFA. Bhuuuhahaha! Many good things to say about the national team but I don't spare sentiment. Simple. |

goldfish80: Danny Mills Takes Stick For Strange Comments About Nigeria
Danny Mills has never been one to waste too much time dallying with restraint. After Luis Suarez bit Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 World Cup, for example, he called for Suarez to be locked up. He's once again taken some stick today for some strange comments made on BBC Two. Mills was doing co-commentary with Guy Mowbray on the U-20 World Cup final, which has ended in glory for his native land: they beat Venezuela 1-0 thanks to a goal by Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Such success will naturally excite the English media for the future, although during the game Mowbray did sound a note of caution: playing for England at U-20 level will not prevent a player from declaring for a rival nation at senior level. Mills was having none of this on commentary, claiming that players should stick around for England, to play in the Euros and the World Cup, as they are the competitions that "really matter".
“ Again, I'm going to be biased but if you have the opportunity to play for England, you have to take it. The quality of England, for me, far outweighs the chances you will have for Nigeria. OK, you might go to the African Cup of Nations, you might pick up a medal. But in terms of competitions that really matter on the world stage, the Europeans, the World Cup...England would be your first port of call. Of course I'm going to be biased on that.
https://www.balls.ie/football/danny-mills-366852 When an African wins the world cup then the African cup of nations will be taken seriously. I think this is what he meant. |

Napoleon55: so who is to be blamed for,as they r not yet playing for super eagles? Of course, NFF has to be blamed for their lackadaisical attitude towards getting players before they turn out to be World class. They don't seems to have a scouting team or they don't receive the recommendation of these scouts. |

Humility017: just leave him....He is not someone that should be engaged in a discussion..... I read....his comments when he said that the truth is people often accuse others of doing what they're guilty of Even if I show you evidence of how he boldly said 'that is why Onigbinde tribe will never coach the national team again' your brainwashed head will still pat him at his back. Of course, I have seen you don dat recently when you exonerated Omobala your cohort. |
