TheSuperNerd: Hmmmmm...... you gat a point dia finally ooo..... *thinking* Well.... let's see how things go.
If they all choose to play for England then I can only wish them the best. But England should be thankful to the #PowerOfNaija.... without Naija blood, dem for no near quarters sef....
....more than 90% of their goals and assists have been Nigerian-bloods-inspired....
Where is Forgiveness sef?? It is in moments like this, We see his big grins..... but truly Solanke came to the party today.... really deserving of that no.10 jersey. He is one player I hope will turn out for The Super Eagles and not England.... But beware of Penaranda's Venezuela oooo... England have that big hurdle to cross if they must lift their first Fifa title at any level since 1966.
Forgiveness oooo.... food is ready darling.... Honestly speaking, when I talk about a player, I must have heard alot or read alot about him, and I must have seen his movement, touches on the ball and his perseverance enough to give mmy final judgement. I don't need to see the player more than two times before I give my final verdict. Truly, all those Nigerian boys are very good. |

TheSuperNerd: But why naa?
because of bragging rights? or because of Future reference points to the win in future possible debates by Forgiveness? Looolll
....because of possible statements like, "Wetin Mikel, Iheanacho, Success, Yahaya, Adepoju, Siasia, Odiaka and many more no fit do at Fifa U-20s.. Solanke and co don do am...." Something like that? Loooolllll
Naaah.... if they win... it's cool really....
But That Venezuelan Team is wicked oooo.... It could easily have been Uruguay in the final sef... but the two south american teams have been pretty outstanding that anyone could have won.
England will be playing the best attacking side of the tournament.... so it will be tough. But not impossible for England to win...
Personally.... I see this new wave of Venezuelan football led by penaranda, Cordova, Soteldo and co sweeping to the title.... but never say never with England Nigeria's extension.... Honestly, I don't want them to win butvif they do goodluck. |

TheSuperNerd: Well said O jare.... ur head dey dia....
This is #PowerOfNaija at work biko.....
Solanke has chosen the most crucial stage of the competition to strike the real blows... he has four goals now at the U-20s.... Fine player indeed.
Ojo impressing... Lookman doing great things...
Tomori rock solid.... Ejaria also when given his chance have done his bits.
Abeg..... England... we say thank you for letting us see these lads in action against their Peers in South Korea... thank you for the sponsorship.....
We will take it from here now.... after the final with that exciting new generation of Venezuelan jogo bonito youngsters....
Ehmmmmm.... True... all will not play for us.... but ehmmmmm... we may yet get two or three of them or maybe just one... anyhow shaa.... time will tell. As for me, I already know this Nigerian boys are exceptionally good . You saw how Lookman played in the last match. You saw how Onomah played like a champion in the last match. Today you saw Solanke and Ojo brought to the table when going got tough. They played like champions. The other two i didn't mention are also very good. Though, I want all of them in our National team. However, I think they nolonger in our reach if they win the cup. |

safarigirl: Ngwa people are short and look like ikpeazu, Arochukwu men are so much better looking
Besides, I have never met one reasonable Ngwa person and I have met more than enough. Only Ngwa people have nice things to say about Ngwa people
History remembers Arochukwu as renowned slave traders and the most formidable opponents the British encountered in the East, nothing much on Ngwa people aside cannibalism.
Now that you know, I suppose we can return to the football. Ngwas aren't short, dark skinned and ugly as you have described. It is a very wrong misconception that I can't just swallow it down my throat or pretend not t, see it. Ngwas are the most reasonable and most hospitable set of people across the Niger. That is why an Nwaga dashed people lands to develop their city. Forget about the marginalization that brought ruins to their city, education, business etc There are many things to say about the Ngwas. They have turned Aba to a city known for large scales productions of shoes, bags, belts, suits, etc mention it. Now that you know, I suppose we return back to discussing football. |

If Wolfsburg were to play Austrian Wien what do you think the result will be.
So on what basis can Osimhen be considered above Kayode. Drills by Rohr or past glories or maybe more time spent on the bench.
A fully fit Kayode top goal scorer verses a confirmed bench warmer recovering from Injury with just 45 minutes of football over a whole season.
The comparison makes a mockery of common sense. .. u mean common sense I no common. |

Point of correction. Kayode has been prolific for 3 seasons in a row if you include his 13 goals in the Israeli league before he scored double digits goals in the past 2 seasons in the Austria league. |

He said because Austria Vienna beat Roma, we should take the league seriously. I disagree because the point is that the competition in the league for the top goal scoring position is weak. So a team doing well does not change the fact.
So please, tell me the point he was passing across that changes the fact that the Austrian leagueis weak. In every league there will always be champions. |

I am asking, how many goals did he score or how many matches did he play for his club that warranted his call to the national team? Was Kanu a professional Footballer with regular playing time or a newbies like Osimhen with only 2 or 3 (total 50 minutes) matches of club professional league Football before he was invited to the national team? I am not interested in those history of yours because it is inconsequential to the debate, why call Osimhen who only played 3 matches with very few minutes to the national team? |

I will submit that it is legitimate to conclude the basis for his invitation was the interaction Westerhof had with him when he was working the U17 team prior to their final qualifiers against Algeria a year earlier. At least, there was 'he played about 6 matches'. Besides, he played regularly in the NPFL then, even scoring goals. Kanu situation is different from Osimhen. |

A lot forget that d same Onigbinde made young Stephen Keshi his captain in Afcon 84 over Muda Lawal a yoruba man who was making 5th Afcon appearance at Afcon 84.
Good Rohr is not a Ibo man,he could have been tagged a tribalism for inviting Osimieh to camp. @bolded you dey mind those ones. eterisan: On the Osihmen debate! Here is my take. Please before you criticize Rohr's decision put yourself in his shoes. This is what I feel he is doing. He is building the team for the now with an eye on the future. Osihmen is our 3rd choice striker now n my guess is that slot is reserved for our best youth team striker. Awoniyi and orji will come to mind but osihmen is at a higher playing level than both coupled with the fact that he is the poster boy of the nff thus he will always get the call up to train with the team. That is what he is there for..for drills..it is a no brainer. You can't call up an ideye or ighalo or a newbie to sit as 3rd choice striker in a lone striker system when you are still running the rule over a top potential like osihmen. Same idea goes for alampasu and awaziem. They are been eased into d nt environment gently. So please do not expect them to start yet. I just love this Rohr. For the ajagun matter I got no comments abeg. That one na mumu debate. You want to call up an old man to replace who? Who is he better than? Keshi 2014 all over again abi? You want questionable team selections abi? Rohr has a master plan for Nigeria nd he will implement to the fullest. Sorry if you can't see it. You go just they shout up nd down. It won't change anything. Very very very very disappointing, biased, unacceptable, confusing, disheartening and baseless points up there. When did Osimhen become the 3rd choice striker? When did we start reserving the 3rd choice striker slot our best youth team striker? Jesus! How is Osimhen at highly playing ground than both Awoniyi and Orji? Chinekemeee! Hilarious If Tores and bigger players they play 3rd choice for Spain, Germany etc, who be Ideye and co? Besides, who is our first and second choice striker? Commot Aweriem for this matter, he is not Osimhen mate. If Alampasu is warming the bench in a 3rd rated Portuguese Liga, I don't see why he should be invited. How old is Ajagun that you are calling old? Eleleeeooo! A wood! And 5 people liked your post.... Awuuuuu! |

goldfish80: Those invites haven't been coming on a platter of gold. Kayode have had to work twice as hard as anyone to get any form of attention.
Speaking to LIB, he said: 'For a long time now, I have not been invited to the National Team, maybe due to politics' "But I know very soon, Coach Rohr would look in my direction because my position remains vacant. I'm ready to score for Nigeria, I am ready to score for Rohr but all can come through only if I am invited. Some people said I play in a far league, some said I play in the cold, some said I play in Austria and Austria is not English premier league , but I will tell you, football in La-Liga is the same in Austria. I played in the Europa league last season, so what experience do i need again, I have represented Nigeria at youth levels and my mates like Onazi , and Omeruo are the ones playing currently for now.''

ChrisKels: Maybe a few people think through this line with me, but I think it is worth the mention. To the powers that be, the bigwigs in here, I direct this question, please why don't we read of NFF's push to cap Manuel Akanji as much as we read of their pushes for other guys his age? I have seen him play severally and from my own standards, he is okay. He just won his place as a starter with Basel and I think we should have arms round his neck as we do Awaziem now because we don't have that much options at the back and Balogun ain't getting any younger. The boy doesn't hide his Nigerian heritage, evident is the presence of Nigerian flag on his instagram handle (I guess). He might love the prospect of playing with this young, vibrant Eagles team. They(Awaziem and Akanji) wouldn't make bad partners *future wise* in eagle's defense if we got him in the fold. The problem is the coaching screw of Rohr. They are the only ones who can identify and introduce Nigerian players to Rohr because Rohr doesn't know or can't identify Nigerian names especially those players using another country's national flag. They will only introduce their boys. Manuel Akanji is supposed to have been invited to solve our defense palaba. |

Joebie: The problem is when we think a player has done better at the club level and should be considered ahead of another right away. Guys there are several factors in play. Invitation and dropping of a player is not based SOLELY on club performance.
Personally as a coach, if Osimhen impresses me in camp, the likelihood of me inviting him again is higher than inviting someone who JUST STARTED shining at club level. Coaches know that club form does not automatically translate internationally, which is why they give it time, until they are convinced they should give a new player a chance. Guys lets not forget that Mikel Agu has been in form all season. He just got his chance. But Orji just started shining..
If some of us here were coaches our player invitation list will change drastically every time because we go by the players performance after every club match. na wa oh.
And to the Ajagun matter. It is one thing to say he deserves a call up. It's yet another to say he is better than someone who have been flawless for SE, just because he seems more versatile. If Okocha were playing today will you say Ajagun is better because he is more versatile? Rohr may not need that versatility in the team at the moment. A jack of all trade is not necessarily a master of any. Versatility does not always mean better. Yes Ajagun could be an option in the future. I'm not saying he is not good enough. Just because he is #10 in his club does not mean if he were in SE right now he will be considered ahead of Mikel, Iwobi, or Etebo in that role. We are talking about Roda JC for God sake. Can you name another player in that team? Are they even still in the Eredivisie? If it isn't 'solely' on club performance, then what is it? Why have you not clamored for Sanni Emmanuel? Why was Onazi who played very little part in John Obuh's U17 team invited to the National team ahead of Sanni Emmanuel? If club form doesn't automatically translate to international performance, how do you who will perform at the national team? Do you mean the one cleaning and warning the should be called to the national team fast fast while the that just started shining should continue forever until he convince the coach he is old enough to retire ? Make em just convince with hard labour while de other dey come collect allowance even em no dey kick ball? Orji just started shining because dem dash position for Seria A!? Is Etebor Okocha? Ajagun is up against Etebor not Okocha because if we talk Okocha then Etebor na small pikin. Now, that you've seen that Ajagun is more versatile than Etebor, you've started singing another tune.isorrite! It is nolonger about been versatile it is about been favored ba! Ajagun is better no 10 than Etebor, you can take that to the bank. Can you please mention the name of Etebor's club? While you're on it, list the names of his team mates. Thanks |
