@poster Na wah for your logic!!! Women are naturally ugly!!! Maybe the ones you have been coming across. Think about this; when you buy a new car, as shiny and nice as it is, you spend so much time washing and waxing and cleaning it. (according to your logic, this is done because the car's paint is defective and the car is "ugly" . The old car you have you treat like rubbish.Women are beautiful (unless you are gay). PERIOD. And becase they do themselves up is even proof of that. ![]() |
earthrealm:Diesel is now 145. And from what I have seen, they are more expensive than the equivalent petrols (mile for mile) |
For all concerned, my mechanic is called Tunde, (08023786254) and my Part seller is Chibogu (08033229691). You can tell them the man with the Blue Diesel Passat in Alausa gave you the details. All the best. ![]() |
sas11 My Mechanic is in Gbagada, a place called 2nd powerline in Soluyi. My spare parts guy is in ASPAMDA. When you decide, I will flow you their numbers. OK then. |
nkc:What do you mean?? ![]() |
Till then!!! ![]() |
UPDATE: Am now on the prowl for some effizzy for the pathy. Have already spotted some LED projector headlamps, some chromed handles and some wire mesh grill stuff. You'll see the changes soon. Meanwhile, yeasterday we went to a friend's party with the pathy. Na so pathy turn to theater as rear seat occupants donned on their wireless headphones and where thriller by the on-board movie. Time in traffic passed by so quick and they were unwilling to disembark at point of destination. ![]() AHHH Oyinbo!!! ![]() |

chieyvonne:You dont need to convince me. I am already sold out on the idea. I have just been waiting for all the 3 cars to come together. The jeep only came out of the port last monday. I am just trying to decide what to do with the jeep cos for the two cars, I have brand new tyres while for the jeep I have tyres with 50% of the thread left. I will decide though and will be calling you for us to do this early next week. |
jenju:nkc, brace up!!! You no go see that car with eye till ending of next week. Cos even when the car comes out, there is still paperwork of about 2 to 3 days to get the "yellow card" so dont hold your breath. pele!!! but in the words of jenju, another couple of days is nothing. Just consider that God has used this experience to teach you patience. ![]() |
Ahhh Jenju, you don wake up Make you try drink your kenyan coffee while I prepare to wolf down my iyan and egusi with okporoko, kpomo and ogufe!!! ![]() |
@iceman, I didnt get you wrong. The issue here is not if a car is good or not but the cost of maintenance. If VWs are unreliable, bad or have a high running cost, you can be sure that they would not be on the road today and the factory would have folded up. I personally have also had 2 MBs and I cannot say the cost of mainteneance is the same as my VWs. |
How far with your car na ![]() |
Thank you all.!!! ![]() |
icemann:AND earthrealm:Black man!!!! Na wah for una !!!! ![]() Why we no go use common sense judge matter How can shocks cost over 20% of the cost of a car ? Even if na classic car![]() My guy sas11, I have used passats for over 6 years now and I have passed through 4 different models. They are not only more cost effective to run than the equivalent japanese cars but offer you germany build quality that is unsurpassed. I can tell you two things about the spares: 1. Sourcing parts locally is simply a matter of knowing where to go. For example, everyone knows that for Honda parts the best deal is in oyingbo in lagos. If you go anywhere else or your mechanic senses that you are a mugu, he will clean you out!! 2. Cost of parts in the US and Europe is very different from cost of the same parts in Naija. I had to change my cylinder head about 2 years ago and I got it , brand spanking new in Naija, for 40% the list price in Europe. But then again there was a small plastic hood opener but that was being sold here for about 3k which I got in Europe of 2.5euro. so there you go. When you buy your passat, I will be very glad to hook you up with my parts supplier, (who even delivers to my office) and my mechanic, who is the only one, apart fro my wife, that Ican give my car to and not thing about it. Forget the bad belle people!! And if you are in Lagos, I can let you drive my passat, which is a diesel, and it will turn you into a beleiever, instantly. God pass them. ![]() |
UPDATE: On road Test. I just got back from Osogbo. I went with the Pathy and a friend. You can imagine that not a single police man stopped us. It was only on our way out of Osogbo that my friend stated what must be the reason; THEY THINK ITS A BRAND NEW CAR so nothing to chop ![]() I am very impressed with the performance, its fast and yet there is no real sensation of speed. Some things I noted though: 1. The cruise control will not engage at speeds over 90mph and2. The stereo volume actually increases with increasing vehicle speed .Did I make a good decision to buy this car?? ABSOLUTELY YES!!! ![]() Do I have any regrets; Again yes; that I didnt do it earlier!!! ![]() And everywhere we went, heads were turning. Apparently its not yet a very common sight!!! All the better. ![]() My insurance people have agreed to insure for 5% of the value and install a complimentary tracking device. |
As we say "GOD PASS DEM" ![]() |
Wetin or who be Honda ![]() Na food?? Them dey chop am?? |
It looks like I will only be talking in millions of word!!! ![]()

whats the big deal ? If you use this car for Naija, na so sun go show you shege with that glass roof!!! ![]() This one no be nuclear but Glass ![]() |
Thanks Lusky!!! A true well wisher ![]() |
Thanks so much V8. But as an Chemical engineer, its hard for me to accept to pay for branding. Toluene, which is the main octane boosting hydrocarbon used in octane boosters sells at 40,000 per 160 liter drum. There's no way you can match this price!!! ![]() |
UPDATE Hi all concerned. ![]() Car came in yesterday night about 9pm. It was delivered to my friends house, from where I took it later in the evening. The pictures below are from my phone in his house. I was out of Lagos at 645am this morning and only got back in the evening with enough time to just fill the tank (I think it takes 80 litres when its completely empty) and take a 2km drive around my area. My conclusion; I am completely satisfied. I will send more pictures tomorrow in the office.
