The Sly:Does this mean "I persin own no spoil, another persin own no go better"?? ![]() Siena:There's still time!! |
Siena:Thats so much like "I told you so" but I guess you are right. The thing is that I have used stuff like this in the past with fair results. Like I said, have it in my bike's tire (and there are quite a few nails and studs on it) with very good results. I have never had a catastrophic loss of pressure. Usually I need to put in some air every 2 to 3 weeks but even that on a count of a few PSI loss in pressure. So to have this thing (at the cost that it is) fail so catastrophically is not only a big surprise but I actually feel like I have beeen duped!! ![]() Thats why I have decided to share my experiences with others here. Everyone here can now make their own choices. How far with your trip?? Is there a time table yet. September draws near!! |
About 2 months ago I asked one of the guys on this forum to come put the advertized tyre sealant into my tyres. I went as far as having 3 cars done. I have used similar products in the past (and even have it in my bike's tyres) and thought it was a good idea. I have nothing but regrets right now. I had to actually change my tyre in traffic!!! yesterday. This thing cost me 15K for the jeep tyres I had done. The service from the installer was excellent (If I am to judge that) but loosing two tyres to punctures in 1 day is simply unacceptable. The claim will be that the holes were too big etc, but i had a screw in one tyre (with diameter of 3mm) and a nail in the other tyre (with diameter of 3mm too). If the sealant cannot take care of holes like that, and even allowed me to loose air so fast that I could not even get to the next "vulca" , then its a complete waste of my money. I wish I could have my money back because to me, the product is not worth the time I spend putting it in. ![]() A picture is worth a thousand words. Here I give you two pictures.

sultaan:This is the ECU!! ![]() |
Siena:Just demonstrates God's infinite abilities ![]() |
where you go see am?? ![]() Forget the idea and go get yourself a new brainbox. |
Either way it's going to cost you soome. Its possible that the transponder chip in your key is acting up. You could try replacing your current key with a new electronic key. This should cost about 30K and I might solve the problem. The way it works is that when you put your ket in the ignition to start the car, a signal is sent to your car's ECU by the transponder in your key. This signal is checked, and if found to be the correct one stored in the meemory of the ECU, the engine will be allowed to start. My suggestion is on the premise that your transsponder is the culprit and the ECU is in order. With the electronic key, you will be duplicating the signal sent by your transponder key. So this signal will always be the same and your ECU should see it all the time. All the best. |
komekn:Seconded ![]() |
But why kwanu Nna pally, this moto di too much!!! |
cgift:Ask anyone; they'll tell you. e no easy!! I have a diesel passat (diesel is 150 a liter while petrol is 70) And I have the kind of pathy you were drolling over (it got a V6 4.0 engine which I cane regularly) . Running them cost. So either way, I get to pay the dough. But the pleasure I get is worth it. Man no die, man to rotten and dont forget, no pain no gain!! ![]() |
cgift:cgift, abeg no vex but a point for you to note; there is no such thing as an "economical" off-roader in today's world. These vehicles typically weigh over 2 tons. This means they need VERY big engines to push them around (your idea of a 4 cylinider 4 runner is hilarious ). The pathfinder that has you all so excited sells in Lagos for between 4 to 5 million. So my advice, wake up to reality, adjust your budget to reality, and then choose. So now when you see all those guys with "jeeps" on the road, make you know say them dey spend an average of 5K for every 300km. And for you to commute between island and ikorodu, be sure that you will be spending close to 10K per week. Hope your pocket is that deep!!! e no easy ooo!!! ![]() |
delay is dangerous oo!!! ![]() |
$$Rhino:Its not impossible na. Its probably the "second time around"!! ![]() |

Nigerian used or Toks?? Whats your budget?? |
Stress for you, if you don't get it done properly!!! Nevertheless it can be done. Used to do this a couple of years back!!! |
Pittbaby:I am surprised that you are surprised. While the statistics you've rolled out may be true in the US they certainly do not apply to naija where the car is to be used. I am not very sure that there are so many people interested in having a reliable engine with unreliable running gear, which is what the asian car manufacturers offer. The European and American manufactureres have something else in mind but really in Naija the first thing to go is the running gear. And the "others" are so much better at that than the asian can makers. |
ogogo24:SRS mean supplementary Restraint System, aka Airbags. The airbag system has a problem. Did you buy the car this way or is it something that started recently?? Go for computer diagnosis to find out what exactly is the problem. If you bought the car this way, then I can guarantee you (99%) its a car with a bad history, ie accidented or flood damaged etc) CHECK; emissions problem from the engine. probably a bad O2 sensor. This will usually not affect performance and I am not sure of where you can get a replacement sensor. But then again it might be some other thing in the emissions loop. Again, diagnosis will tell you tell exact problem. |
xpensiv:xpensiv, you suppose change your name to cheapo!!! ![]() I suggest you take it for free in the night at the location where it is kept!!! Midas, well done. Looks really nice!!! |
spikedcylinder:becos na black man dey involved |
