On a more serious note, let us be real about these things cos they exist almost in every home now.
you see so called men relaxing and waiting on their wives to be the provider, it is wrong traditionally
spiritually and morally. A woman is supposed to support her husband and not take the position of the
breadwinner, a situation whereby the man is ill,out of job could be understood but then he must hustle.

You cousin is lucky. I watched my mum cry severally cos of the embarrassment she received from my dad. I watched how my dad would cross certain things off the market list to reduce the little amount needed for feeding. It got so bad that I'd go to my dad's superstore to steal cash just so my mum could have some money in her purse( that I'm not proud of). She was just a secondary school teacher then. My dad has never bought anything for my mum. She worked hard, got promoted , became an academic supervisor etc. Fast forward to 2014: she retired n received her gratuity. Meanwhile dad who was a rich banker then, lost his job n was duped in a business deal he ventured into. Now mum is the one in charge. No more tears. She now runs the show. The jeep she bought, dad drives it. Everywhere they go, mum tells whoever cares tho listen that dad bought the car n not her. She has begun her building project n will soon become a landlady. She doesn't hesitate to give whenever dad needs cash. She has forgotten how it was. She has forgotten how this same man who is greatly benefitting from her now, used to abuse her n call her lazy n a liability. Lol. Now who's the liability? She doesn't hide her money from her "beloved'' husband. I get mad at times n wished she would retaliate. But my mum would have none of that. She now has more thasn enough wrappers n jewellries. No more tears. Hmmmmmmmmm I believe that's how marriage should be. So pls advise your cousin to do what she can. She's even blessed with money n can comfortably provide for herself n kids. If need be,let her do same for her husband. Things will change for the best someday. And of course, now that mum has some money, dad is not even contributing a dime anymore. Lol. Mum still believes he will change some day. But as we wait for that day to come, mum is smoothly running the home n everyone is happy.

GOD BLESS HER AND REWARD HER THROUGH HER KIDS AND GRANT HER LONGEVITY TO REAP HER HARD EARNED FRUITS OF THE LABOUR OF LOVE.

That a married couple haven't been together in 8yrs is a huge joke, the man is probably tired of the marriage and has moved on. In this day and age of the internet and globalisation it is difficult to be apart for so long. It is not so difficult to get a spousal visa,moreover most companies encourage their staff to be with their partners whenever they are posted outside their station. Give me that lady number make I help her open her eyes.

Really sad. I have had an encounter with a doctor who was supposed to be head of a dept.only for him to be struggling to give my dad drip. Dude was sweating profusely trying to fit a needle in my dad's arm for intravenous drip. I had to scold him seriously as in para well well, because my dad was in pains after the dude had pierced his arm like 10 times. Meanwhile there were veins all over his hands but dude couldn't just fit a needle. A nurse eventually did it. The way these dudes talk to patients as if the patients deliberately fell sick, no empathy whatsoever. If not for my age, I would have gone back to school to study medicine to show these peeps how it should be done.

Age shouldn't be a constraint my friend.

And when I complain about these hacks we call medical personnel here in Nigeria, they are quick to respond with all their jargons. Only a few of them are really qualified professionally and psychologically. Just go round our hospitals and you would see why the rich would always fly out for medicals. Just a pity. Go to LUTH, Igbobi, FMC and you would pray with every fibre of your being never to fall ill here in Nigeria.

i urge anyone who has money to travel abroad even for the simplest medical cases, our hospitals are death traps, i repeat death traps
a colleague had an accident recently and was rushed to general hospital Wuse zone2, a quack stitched her deep cuts without any form
of anesthesia or sedative, they stitched her with her eyes open, imagine the pain and trauma but that wasn't end of the story. She was
transferred to a private hospital due to unbearable pains and the fact that she couldn't straighten the hand only for the private hospital
to reveal that the previous doctor had stitched this girl's vein to the wounds, meanwhile it took several trials to get her stitched in the
first place, until a nurse took over from the doctor and now she would have to get surgery to correct their mistake.
