Have you heard of mutual fund money market. You can lodge it there for accrue of daily interest until you figure some more thiñgs 5o do with it.

What I keep wondering is what happens when these guys transfers to a country that drives on the opposite sides...just like our own Mikel is in China now....what happens to all these expensive collections? Sold off and start buying another set?

From Feb 1 to date, I don't think there's any equity fund in Nigeria that has returned half as much as the average MMF. As a matter of fact, most are trading at losses from their Jan end prices.

balanced funds are often a mix of bonds and equities. so I expect their performance to lag MMF still.

For bond funds, I am expecting them to have better performance than MMFs.

These are my views.

Is it better than the balance funds or fbn smart beta and other equities? Just asking to have an idea.

Kudos to you for dropping this. Kudos to our fund managers too for yet delivering yields above T-bills. MMFs are the best money market vehicles currently. Glad I'm in.

Don't blame them . I was once like them. They are many on nairaland, some eventually got the logic while some are still chasing their shadows and are yet to understand that false knowledge is more dangerous than ignorance. In all, investing your money in anything is your personal choice.

It’s pointless to set goals if you are not going to try to hit them. For instance, whether Treasury Bills and Mutual Funds are nonsense or not, i love locking my money there for a reason .

Thanks a lot. One more thing I keep hearing is high risk of capital depreciation, capital loss. How prevalent is this? Any personal experience?

I invested in stanbic ibtc balanced fund since January not impressive if u dnt have d patient to wait for years. Money market suits me better as I see appreciation daily.

Talking about this table is it really necessary as a yardstick to comparing how individual countries perform in an event like this because I have come to realise some countries will feature almost half of athletes in a particular event as against some other countries who may have only one or two in the same event. Say for instance in a male or female 200m swimming event you will see some countries having about three of the 10 or 9 athletes competing and at the end of the day isn't there a greater chance that countries that have more athletes will surely have more medals in the index competition.
I know Nigeria competed in very few of this sports (I didn't see anyone flying the nation's flag in swimming as well as a couple of other games yet they made it to 8th the same for other few nations too). May be someone will help enlighten me how its awarded.

To burst your bubble....the pope doesn't have any private jets. He uses Alitalia a national carrier. And be notified that he is even a world recognised Head of state (president if you chose that) of the Vatican so he could afford a jet if he desires but no he doesn't live such mundane lifestyles like some self proclaimed pastors.
