PoliticsRe: Murray-bruce Declares For Senate, Laments Widespread Poverty. by Franchise21(m): 8:39am On Oct 28, 2014
rocgirl:
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Silverbird
Group, Mr. Ben Murray-Bruce, on Monday declared
his intention to represent Bayelsa East Senatorial
District in the National Assembly. With his declaration, Murray-Bruce has the likes of
Senator Barigha Amange, Clever Ikisipo to
contend with for the senatorial seat. Though Murray-Bruce is from Akassa speaking
group of Brass Local Government where the
senatorial seat has been zoned to, Amange
cautioned recently that zoning should not be at
the expense of merit and experience. Ikisipo on his part said there was no zoning in
the Bayelsa East, insisting that there was never a
time stakeholders discussed zoning in the district. Murray-Bruce said if his people believed in him
and support his aspiration, he would ensure he
sponsored bills to tackle poverty in the country. He said, “I am running for the Senate because I
am interested in the laws of our land; I am
interested in making change and I am not
interested in business as usual. “I have always been concerned about the
poverty of the mind, about women who are not
being protected, children who are being raped,
men who are paedophiles, a society where there
is no order, we must bring order to our society. “There are too many poor people living under the
bridge. Nigeria is too rich for people to be poor
and Nigeria is too poor for the super upper class
to be so rich. That has to stop.” He regretted that most wealthy Nigerians were
not paying their taxes, insisting that if they were
paying their taxes, it would be rare to see an
individual having three private jets. He added, “If they pay their taxes, an individual
will not have three private jets and the poor man
on the street will have a chance to make a living.
There is no way I will be a happy seeing my
children go to private school and my staff do not
have their children at school and cannot eat three meals a day. “This society will explode and implode, there will
be violence, there will be mayhem, unless
politicians start thinking rationally.”

SportsNigeria Faces Fifa Suspension Again by Franchise21(op): 10:48am On Oct 27, 2014
African champions Nigeria could be thrown out of international
football by the governing body of the sport, Fifa, this week.
The football federation of the West African nation, the NFF, has
been given a deadline of Monday, October 27, 2014 to resolve
its governance issue or face automatic suspension from Fifa.
Caf president was quoted in a statement from the NFF saying to
the Nigeria sports minister, Dr Tammy Danagogo: “I had to
plead passionately with Fifa President, Mr Sepp Blatter not to
take action on Nigeria on Friday, because Nigeria was in the
final of the African Women Championship and a ban on your
country would have been bad for the competition and our
sponsors. We all heard the news of the court ruling on
Thursday, and the football world is angry with Nigeria. That is
the truth.
“The Fifa letter that came to your federation before the elections
of September 30 was very clear about an automatic suspension
should there be any interference with the political process, and
after the elections went ahead, we all thought you had settled
your issues.”
A Federal High Court sitting in Jos and presided over by Justice
Ambrose Allagoa had last Thursday week declared the elections
of September 30, 2014 that brought the Amaju Pinnick executive
committee into office as null and void.
The court also warned the troubled NFF executive committee to
quit parading itself as the country's football authority which has
led to the Chris Giwa group that filed the suit to stake claim as
being the authentic executive committee of troubled Nigeria's
FA.
The governance crisis was further heated on Friday when it
emerged that Pinnick was stopped at the Murtala Mohammed
International Airport in Lagos from travelling to Namibia for the
African Women Championship (AWC) final between Nigeria and
Cameroon following the court ruling.
The Pinnick-led NFF has already claimed that it has filed a stay
of execution on the ruling by the court in Jos, which will be
heard this Wednesday.
Fifa and Caf say they recognise the elections of Pinnick and his
executive committee and even congratulated him on emerging
the NFF president.
But Nigeria, who hold the men's and women's titles in the Africa
Cup of Nations and AWC respectively, now risk missing out in a
handful of 2015 international tournaments as Fifa will not revisit
any sanction meted out on the country's FA until May 2015
when the Fifa congress holds in Zurich, Switzerland.
PoliticsGoodluck And Patience Jonathan Reply Toamaechi by Franchise21(op): 10:39am On Oct 27, 2014
It would be recalled that on Saturday Amaechi accused
Jonathan and his administration of failure to implement the
projects initiated by the governor , of encouraging corruption.
Moreover, the politician insisted that his problems with Dame
Patience started when he refused to share “Rivers peoples
money ” with her .
According to Punch, October 26, both spouses replied to the
member of card holder of the All Progressives Congress
(APC).
Goodluck Jonathan made a statement through his Special
Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, calling the
allegations “baseless”. The country leader expressed shock
over the fact that Amaechi had lost the sense of responsible
political behaviour adding that he was pursuing his
selfish political interests. “Governor Rotimi Amaechi took his obnoxious willingness to
denigrate the highest office in the land in a reckless bid to
advance his selfish political interests to a new level of
irresponsible and rascally behaviour yesterday (Saturday) in
Port Harcourt with his totally false and baseless vituperations
against President Jonathan, the First Lady and the Federal
Government.”
Jonathan also accused Rivers governor of losing the “touch
with reality”.
“We can only assume therefore that he is deliberately
spewing malicious falsehood in a desperate effort to incite
the people of Rivers State and Nigeria against his assumed
political foes.”
He warned Amaechi against crossing both legal and moral
limits by such claims, which aim at tarnishing his wife’s
reputation.
“The immunity which he currently enjoys notwithstanding,
Governor Amaechi should be under no illusions: A day of
reckoning will surely come when he will answer for all his
actions and false allegations against President Jonathan, the
First Lady and the Federal Government. He should also know
that Nigerians are aware of the truth and will never be fooled
or swayed by his arrant opportunism and anti-Jonathan
ranting.” On the same day Patience Jonathan reacted with a statement
made by her media assistant, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, describing
Amaechi’s allegations as a lie meaning to rubbish
Presidency. “Having waited patiently for Governor Amaechi to refute the
statement credited to him about the First Lady, (with the
assumption that he was misquoted), it has become clear that
it was a deliberate attempt to malign Dame Patience
Jonathan and score cheap political point. The governor may
have been beclouded by the political uncertainty surrounding
him to make such a jaundiced and unsubstantiated allegation
that the First Lady asked him to bring Rivers State’s money
to share.”
President’s wife shared her opinion that Amaechi “is looking
for a cheap excuse for his failure in the governance of the
state”.
She debunked the claim that she had ever requested him to
giver her Rivers money, either directly or indirectly. Patience
Jonathan, who comes from River State, stressed the
importance of setting peaceful, free of political wars,
atmosphere in the state for improving socio-economic
development in the territory.

RomanceTo The Ladies : 16 Truths You Should Know by Franchise21(op): 8:45pm On Oct 24, 2014
1 – The way to a man’s heart is no longer his stomach but the
quality of your brain.
2 – If your man must be Tall, Dark and Handsome then be ready
to be the 2nd best because what you desire, others’ seek too.
3 – If you allow your parents’ pressure push you into marriage,
you may end up a single-mom.
4 – A man that slaps you before marriage will build a boxing ring
after marriage. Guess who his opponent will be – YOU!
5 – If you are yet to know any member of his family after 6 – 12
months of courting him, then, is either he wants you as his baby-
mama or a back-up plan.
6 – If what attracted him to you are your bosoms and the sexy
legs
you flaunted, the contents of your brain had better keep him, else,
there are too many well-rounded and bigger bosoms waiting to
snatch him away.
7 – Men love sex, at least 95% that I’m aware of. To him, if you
can’t continue, don’t start! If you start, don’t stop! Be careful!
8 – If he doesn’t discuss future plans with you in the picture, he
just want a fling.
9 – Even when you trust each other, a little jealousy reminds him
that you care.
10 – Men love a listener. No matter how much you want your
opinion to push through, listen to his details and don’t counter it.
11 – When you are already living with him before marriage, he
won’t propose quickly.
12 – Don’t waste your years waiting for an unserious man to
propose just because his parents loves you, you’re going to be
married and living with the man, not his parents.
13 – When you seek his advice, you make him feel more of a man
than he is.
14 – Your encouragement or concern about his career or job
works faster than listening to a motivational tape.
15 - An engagement ring isn’t an assurance for marriage, it could
possibly make you his regular sex-mate.
16 – Don’t endure domestic abuse in a marriage because of your
kids and what people will say. If you die as a result, the man, the
people and the kids will bid you dust-to-dust, he will marry
another woman and she will take your place as the mother of your
kids. It’s that simple!
