Stop with this sort of whining, already. Unless you can show me one country whose problems were solved by Allah. It is we the people that must say enough is enough, that if Buhari does nothing about the vermin we will march in the streets and chase him out of Aso Rock before descending on these people as well as corrupt judges. Allah has given us the brains to solve our problems, if we won't use them, we're on our own.

You deserve a gold medal for this comment.

People like you are as guilty as Dasuki and co. and deserve similar years in jail. The spirit of the woman killed in that video will haunt you if you continue on this path.

Spirits don't haunt people Bro, it is the duty of the good people still alive to fight for justice and to free the oppressed.
We should stop leaving our problems for some imaginary spirit beings to solve, we've done that for so many years with no result.

So you see why things aint working? In advanced societies their citizens support activists... In Nigeria the citizens don't care but still expect activists to push for their cause.

Do you think it's easy for some of us? Not everyone is morally bankrupt to look at the direction of politicians. So what's left for us activist?

If that's a problem, there should be a solution. That takes us back to the number one point I raised. People don't care cos they don't know what corruption is doing to them. They need to be told repeatedly (the method politicians use when they want votes), one day they will get the point.

That is what I wish the centre of discussion on online forums will be instead of discussing how much Sambo dasuki, high chief alero dokpesi, almakura others stole, we should be discussing how we can all gather in various states secretariat and local governments headquarters to mount a continuous persistent protest against corruption. But like izonowei said, it seem we are doomed because Nigerians are lazy. I think we need to learn from the Ipob guys in Anambra and onitsha. Although they are fighting a lost cause, the way they are able to gather and persistently demand for their biafra is a model for us to learn from... I wish all of them here TonyeBarcanista, cramjones, menix, wailers and mastubators alike can come together to fight a common enemy. Corruption

I really don't think laziness is the major obstacle., after all, those protesting for Biafra are Nigerians too.

A persistent match/fight against corruption would encounter many obstacles, I will highlight some;

1. Getting people interested. Many of us seem not to know how bad corruption is affecting us.

2. Tribalism (d father of our pikin attitude).

3. Partisanship. How do we get PDP or APC fanatics to protest against their party member who is in power?

4. The powers that be (local and foreign). For sure, these corrupt elements will try anyway possible to dissuade people.

5. Fund. Buses would be hired on a daily basis, water to drink, the cost of reaching out to people etc.

6. Religious divide.

7. Lack of trusted personalities to lead the movement.

These are just few.
The IPOB protesters don't face many of these problems...they are more emotional too. If Kanu was not arrested, there wouldn't have been this kind of protest.

You are free to edit the list. And most importantly, provide possible solutions.

Please we shouldn't give up on Nigeria...by giving up, we've paid a lot already. I believe it can be done.

ALL leaders, were once followers. And as long as the leaders know that we have docile, zombie followers, they will never change. Let's start, what happened to trade union? What happened to NANS? NLC? Human right activists (post gani fawenmi)? Musicians of common sense (post fela)? These and others were the followers that kept the government on their toes. They were the real opposition. So I daresay that leadership failed because followers failed. Even a little child will be naughty if there is no one around to watch and correct him.

I believe so much in revolution. Not media revolution like we are doing right now but real revolution. The French Revolution of 1789 changed France and the entire Europe years after leading to the rise of Napoleon Bonarpate in 1795. We need people to demand (not just ask) for accountability

I agree with you. The big question now is as followers where do we start from?

it is possible if only we have good followers. The elites understand Nigeria's problem and they are comfortably playing with our heads. Our problem is not corruption...our problem is that the Nigerian citizens are sick. ALL of them..all of us. We are all suffering from Amnesia.. that is the main problem. We make noise for a day or two and we move on like nothing happened. We don't have leadership problem, we have followership problem.

At the inauguration of the eight assembly, we made noise as usual for a few days about their salaries and allowances and suddenly, we went quiet again.
I recall with nostalgia during GEJ Era, how Nigerians screamed about the subsidy scam (otedola and Lawan), maina and pension scam, police fund scam, Halliburton scam and many others. But as usual the noise lasted a few days and then gross silence...

NIGERIA needs good followers...followers who will not only ask questions but also sustain the questions until answers are provided. Followers who understand their rights and duty as Citizens. Followers who know they can recall their senators if they are not well represented.....

Good followers, make good leader tomorrow and it's only with good and resilient followers that corruption can be properly dealt with

Thank you for this comment. You made a nice point.

But this is what I think: I think the issue of bad followership is making headlines cos leadership has failed. If the leaders were up and doing, followers will have only little to worry about.
Our leaders had perpetually failed in their leadership role and with no hope of anything good coming from them, this is the very reason we now have to go for the second best option; good followership.

Now, we have to resort entirely to educating our minds on how to be good followers, with the ultimate aim of pressing for good leadership (by of course, holding dem leaders accountable at all times.
We are only calling for good followership to enable us "teach" the leaders how to be good leaders, instead of the leaders leading by example.
Bro, we cannot deny the fact that we have leadership problems. We have more of leadership than followership problems.

Don't get me wrong, both leaders and followers have roles to play if this country must move forward. None should neglect her duty.

Alot of people on this side of the world are mentally lazy!

After seeing how states allocations are squandered year in year out, someone will sit down and assume that a brand new country will just wish away all our previous corrupt antecedents and problems. We need to get the basic right where we are.

Is it not the same Dasuki, Dokpesi, Fayose, Aregbe, Atiku, Bala Mohammed, Tompolo, GEJ, Odili, Asari, Ekweremadu, Peter Obi, Saraki, Ibori the convict etc that will be in the newly formed countries?

Spot on!

This has been my point.
Even if governance at the federal level is failing, almost every state has what it takes to orchestrate its own development. But no, in our leaders eyes development is a sin, looting public funds to store in foreign banks is the way forward.
These godamn bloodsucking leaders are impeding the growth of this nation in any way possible.

N.B: I added Ibori the convict, his name deserves to be there.

Imprisoning political criminals in Nigeria is a mistake becaue one day, his/her fellow criminal will assume power and grant him/her pardon. They should be killed immediately, they are very deadly.

Only ten (5) years for N51.5 million embezzlement, yet an armed robber got a death sentence for robbing 14 thousand naira. Just like the robber, the ex-criminal should be sentenced to death...his death should be by gradual mutilation, his right palm should be cut off, if he is not dead after 3 days, his left foot should follow.

I don't want Biafra cos the Ibos want to forcefully include our lands. As someone from a small ethnic group in the lower Niger, I am dead scared of belonging to a country where over 70% of her citizens would be Ibos. The oppression we witness today would be a child's play compare to what we will obtain under Biafra. Also, It is frightening to realise that those shouting "Biafra" "freedom" don't have a single plan of how the freedom would be of benefit to them yet they are ready to waste their time, energy, resources and lives.

Sincerely, I'm tired of the way things are done in this country, but I still don't believe Biafra is the solution. Those we call leaders are our major problem. Even if because of our different ethnicities and cultures, we find it difficult to forge policies that will move the entire country forward at the federal level, what's stopping us at the state n local govt. level?

We've got leader that would prefer to crumble every sector while they send their kids abroad to get the best of what life has to offer. Leaders who would prefer to merge forces with the Westerners to impoverish their own people, leaders without visions, without ideologies....These criminals feeding fat from the country's budget for doing nothing are our real problems.

The amenities you listed are not free in any part of the world. But then, even with all your money in your wallet, you wouldn't have been able to get them still if they didnt exist in your environment; if you had N1m in your pocket, you wouldnt be able to still purchase mobile internet if it didnt exist in Nigeria (as was the case just some years ago).

May I also remind you that it was through those numerous foreign junkets which OBJ embarked upon those days, that's how Nigeria was able to secure a debt relief of well over $20billion from the Paris club. It is sometimes surprising to see supposedly educated people asking what the essence of these foreign trips or diplomatic relations are.

Bro, PMB need not travel every other week to bring in these goodies... He has pressing issues at home too.

We are not saying he shouldn't travel, all we are saying is the traveling don too much, make dem reduce am. But if APC n PMB insist on junketing, pas de problème cos 2019 is just around the corner!
