I was in Maputo, Mozambique one hot afternoon. Dropped my car off at a car wash and strolled to the water front a few meters away. Two policemen stopped me and demanded for my passport which was inside the car. I asked that they follow me to the carwash but they refused claiming passports should be presented on demand.
