BinamRex:

I taught in a private school for six consecutive years, but I have nothing to show for it. I have never seen someone who made something out of his life as a private school teacher. I went to a govt hospital last year and lo and behold, my former student was the medical doctor. I came back home feeling like a loser. I quickly drafted a resignation letter and resigned the next day.

I still haven't gotten a good job, but I am working part-time and I am learning a trade, and I also have ample time to think about my life and the direction I want it to go. My life has never been this good.

You should be happy that a student you taught is now a medical doctor

These are the things you should consider
1.The teaching job provides you guaranteed income of 40k that leaves you with net income of about 30k.Though I don't know how you sort your accomodation, but since you didn't mention it I want to believe accomodation is not a serious concern for you in Abuja .

2.The marketing job in Ota, is it for a new company ? Think about business continuity , how long can this business continue operating, no good company will pay 25k per month . They are offering you 25k with accomodation with a possible review of salary which will be based on your performance . What are the chances that you will get a pay rise even if you exceeded their targets ? What are the guarantees that they will allow you to stay in the accomodation provided over a longer period of time ? Do you have passion for marketing ?

3.I think for now the teaching job is still meeting your present needs and its full of potentials , your salary is not tied to any parameters , the chances that the school will keep operating is higher .
What the marketing job is offering you is not enough for you to trade-off the guarantees you have at the moment . Just be patient better jobs will come , "keep that which thou has lest any man taketh it away from thee "

Many Nigerians find it hard understanding English probably because it's not our first Language .
There's nothing wrong with the man pushing his cows' feed himself and the man never said he's suffering . For him to own some cows / cattle even suggests he's doing fine .

If you never applied for admission to the school, then it's likely some fraudulent guys might likely have used your personal details (which you may have provided on some fraudulent website some where recently or in the past ) . They have collections of peoples' email addresses ,they send out bulk emails to these email addresses. They are trying to get more information from you ( both personal and financial details) and once they have all your data that they needed they will use it elsewhere for their ill motives . please be careful , trust that quiet voice telling you it's not real .

Did you apply for their scholarship programme or did you apply for admission to the school ? If your answer is No , then it's most likely a phishing scam email .

I think they should be clear about this .

Please never scratch or scrape open the bumps , if you do you will regret it . This is because the bumps will become swollen, infected and painful. It's Keloid acne , all you need is Epiderm cream and if you can afford Selsun Blue shampoo buy it and always use it to wash ur head, regular use of Dermatol cream can also help

The last time they promised to pay Whistleblowers, they refused to pay the guy that informed EFCC about money hidden in 1004 estate and if at all they paid him eventually we knew how long they dragged the matter.

Hi Naptu,
The moment I started reading your rejoinder/ correction , without looking at the name I knew it must be you .

Nice one ...thumbs up.

naptu2:

Algeria hosted AFCON in 1990, not 1992. Senegal hosted in 1992.

Rashidi Yekini was the joint second highest goal scorer at the 1988 African Nations Cup (Maroc '88) with 1 goal.

He was the joint second highest goal scorer at the 1990 African Nations Cup in Algeria (Algeria '90) with 3 goals.

Yekini was the highest goal scorer at the 1992 African Nations Cup (Senegal '92) with 4 goals.

Yekini was also the highest goal scorer at the 1994 African Nations Cup (Tunisia '94) with 5 goals.

The moment we lost our goalkeeper : Carl Ikeme to sickness and Victor Moses resigning from international football I knew the team will begin to struggle to win matches .

The coach should try and watch our local league and look for good goalkeepers or better still keep faith in Uzoho .

My guy , later in life you will thank God you didn't get the useless job . A place where they can disqualify you for not fully buttoning up to the neck is not a good place to work . Employers like that are users , they are the type that can hire and fire for no good reason .

Better jobs will come ur way by God's Grace , don't just relent you are nearly there.

Religion / Re: 2019: What Is Your Church's Theme For The Year?? by franktolk(m): 1:32am On Jan 01, 2019
I think we've had enough of all these yearly theme or watchword etc . Its all brainwashing , why should you that has Christ in you who is the hope of glory be waiting for one pastor to declare for you what the year will be . When the Bible itself says "I know the thoughts that I think towards you ..thoughts of peace and not of evil" . So what else are we looking for outside this .

When Moses ask God what he should say to the Israelites if they ask what God has sent him to them in Exodus 3:14, God replied him " say this to the people of Israel I am who I am " . So my people , the year will be what you confess it to be ... the year will be whatever you work it to be . God has made everything available to us, its left for us to work it out .

Happy new year and welcome to 2019.

Crime / Re: How My Sister Was Sexually Violated By A Doctor At Alimosho General Hosp Lagos by franktolk(m): 12:16pm On Dec 29, 2018
No2SexViolence:
My Sister went to this hospital on 28/12/18 to have HIV & hepatitis tests. She had no complaints whatsoever as she was in a perfect physical state for a 25 year old lady that she is. She only wanted to know her status for these diseases for personal reasons. She was asked to open a hospital card and wait to be seen by a doctor.

She met with this doctor whose name is Bankole, and was expecting to get a pre-test counselling as is the usual practice after the doctor-patient interaction of history taking. The doctor however asked her to go lie down on the examination bed instead and without specifying what examination he was performing on her or why, he moved swiftly towards her, raised her gown up and started pressing her tommy. At this point, she wasn’t suspicious of anything yet as she only thought its merely a doctor with bad bedside manners, but then, this doctor suddenly went further raising her blouse higher above her breasts, raised her bra and exposed her breasts all by himself! ‘’Oga’’ doctor then asked her with a ‘’rapey dirty old man smile on his face’’ while squeezing her nipples if it was painful. There was nobody else in the room! At this point, my sister was so shocked and confused and didn’t know what to do. She described this incident graphically how she had never felt so violated before in her entire life. She has had HIV tests before and what she was expecting from this doctor was a pre-test counselling and education on HIV and hepatitis but she didn’t get any of that, because nipple examination was more important to this doctor. The way this doctor pounced on her intimidatingly and went to town on her breasts without warning despite her not complaining of any problems with her health or her breasts left her in trepidation. She felt helpless and sexually violated, such as no patient should ever feel after been seen by a doctor.

We started looking for ways to flag up this incident and lodge a formal complaint against this doctor, who possibly has been getting away with this kind of unprofessional behaviour. Unfortunately, we stumbled on Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) contact online to seek for advice and contacted the chairman, but without hearing the details of what happened, the Lagos state NMA chairman started defending this doctor and throwing tantrums, saying he has been disrespected and dared us to take it to wherever we like. He expressed no sympathy for the patient who has gone through this horrible ordeal in the hands of an unprofessional doctor, who should normally be a trusted custodian of the healthcare institution, but instead, Mr chairman turned himself into the victim.
Does anyone have an idea how to report this kind of incident and who to report to. Thanks. Please see the chats below.

Very sorry to hear about the unpalatable experience your sister had with a randy doctor .
Its unfortunate that Nigeria does not really have functional complaint and redress establishments. You have started well , post it on different social media platforms and also try and put it across to Dr Joe Odumakin @Dr JoeOdumakin twitter handle. You can also post it on her Facebook page Dr Joe Okei -Odumakin I know she does a lot about Nigerian Women's right .
