And In 1953, Chief Anthony Enahoro became the first to move the motion for Nigeria's independence and consequences,he has been regarded by academics and many Nigerians as the father of "Nigeria State" Though his motion was rejected by Parliament and the northern MP's staged a walkout as a consequence of the attempt. The actual successful movement of the motion for Nigeria's independence did not take place until 1958. After Enahoro's initial attempt in 1953, Chief S.L. Akintola attempted to move the second motion for Nigeria's independence in 1957 and though his motion was passed by Parliament it was not acquiesced to by the British colonial authorities and it therefore failed. The successful moving of the motion for Nigeria's independence did not take place until August 1958 and this was done by Chief Remi Fani-Kayode. Fani-Kayode's motion was not only passed by Parliament but it was also acquiesced to by the British. His motion had called for independence to be granted to Nigeria on April 2, 1960 and though it was passed by Parliament and acquiesed to by the British a slight amendment proposing that the month of independence should be moved from April 2 to October 1 was proposed by a fourth motion to Parliament by Sir Tafawa Balewa in 1959 and it was passed. As a consequence of that Nigeria gained her independence in 1960.

It was meant to be an Indirect kick (that was signified by the referee by raising up his hand )but Stoitchkov played a direct kick instead.

One of our National Treasures is gone......so so painful. How long will we continue to lose souls like this? No social welfare for the citizenry. Its high time we did something fast to help Majek Fashek on time before we'll start commiserating on the pages of newspapers and social forums like this. May his gentle soul rest in Perfect peace in Jesus Name. Amen !

Education / Re: Is Ican Recognized Globally? by franktolk(m): 10:56am On May 02, 2012
My Guy dont get deceived oooo. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant under ICAN in 2003, and I can boldly tell you that in reality ICAN is not 100 percent globally accepted. For Instance, I live in the UK and I've never been considered for an accounting Job simply becos I dont have ACCA or CIMA. The only instance where I've seen its acceptance is Australia, and that is when you want to join one of the accounting Bodies; they do accept accountant from an accounting body registered under IFAC.

My Best advice for you is to go for ACCA,CIMA or even CFA. once beaten , twice shy ooooo.

He that lives in a Glass house should learn never to throw stones. I am a Nigerian , but I woukd want d OP too to think of any tangible achievement made by Nigeria since d British left Nigeria. Not a single centimetre of rail track has been added to d one left for us by the british. All sectors are dying, the only thriving and growing sector of the Nigerian economy is Corruption, Greed and Jealousy !

I'm just wondering... of what benefit will it be to Nigeria if she becomes the world Bank's President? Infact what will the average Nigerian,African or somebody from the developing nation benefit from her presidency. I dont believe in sentiments at all, I would want the best/ better candidate to clinch the post.

I tire for we Nigerians oooo, do we think this is Nigerian politics where we want our kinsman to get the Job even if he's the least qualified.Abegi its high time we woke up from our slumber and wake up to reality.
