St_Ichimaro.Gin:

Maybe you are those Nigerians who get carried away with the presence of foreigners!!...... i mean this opinion of yours is an aberration to common intelligence (no offences meant please).

Don't let ur ego be cloud ur sense of judgement my dear. It's a proven fact that Nigerians cherish anything foreign . Go round all sectors in NIGERIA u'll c foreign influence.
It has nothing to do with being carried away wth the presence of foreigners, the world is a global village, why do you think ur government is clamouring for foreign investments. If you don't know the world system and economies have gone far.
More so, where in the constitution of Nigeria is the office of first lady written. Is it the spouse that is contesting? I don't know y we tend to leave the real thing and be chasing shadows.....

It will rather boost ur chances. Nigerians get easily fascinated when we see foreigners especially Caucasians that can spk our local dialect and know our cultures, norms and values. It's a plus

pri3stess:
Must you try to insult everybody? Do you think everyone watches Yoruba movies?

Yeah we love the yoruba movies. The other Nollywood movies are they English movies?
Nah! They are not, I'll rather prefer they speak igbo or pidgin English than to subject us to the pain of trying to pick the heavy accents. Better still they can still sub title the supposed English in proper English. The summary of my message is we shouldn't throw away our cultures, if Indians can do their movies in indi language and it's well accepted world wide there's nothing wrong with yoruba movies, moreso the supposed English Nollywood are not English movies, its very hard to understand the accents.

Naptu yeah ! I remember them very well ! that was in the late eighties or 90 - 91. I will try and remember their song and possibly find it . I'm really enjoying this...

May all their souls RIP . I was fortunate to have sold the room allocated to me as a final year student in Awo. The guy that was occupying my supposed Bed space was murdered that night . The room is on the ground floor just by the stair case . I'm always thanking God for his Grace and also praying for the repose of the souls of the fallen heroes...

Properties / Re: The Making Of The "Port Harcourt Mansion" by franktolk(m): 2:18am On Jun 27, 2013
Its high time Nigerians stopped erecting new structures in an unplanned environment . we are quick to jump into any forest (unplanned area) and build our so called Mansion and after that we would then start clamouring for government to bring in necessary social amenities . I feel our urban Planning department should ensure that no new housing project is embarked on an unplanned area. To me its more like an encroahmennt. What is the benefit of having a beautiful edifice in an area without accessible road.

Nairaland / General / Re: Bus Preacher Beaten To Coma In Lagos After Condoms Fall From Bible by franktolk(m): 12:06am On May 27, 2013
Even if the story is true , there's nothing wrong and I say again nothing wrong in keeping condoms inside the Bible. Like the Bible says my people perish because of lack of Knowledge(Hosea 4:6) , Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth(2 Tim 2:15).
If he is married and he chose family planning as an option there's nothing wrong in Keeping the condoms in his Bible. Do you even know your body is the temple of God (Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?1 cor 6:19), so what will u say if he had kept it in his pockets? It high time people got to understand the scriptures very well and also understand the concept of sin. So many things we regard as sin, which in actual fact and with God are not .
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.(Eph 2:cool Our new life in christ is not by our good works and you dont need to struggle trying to do what you feel is right to please God , we are living under Grace.

Education / Re: Can Bsc Physics Do Is Master In Economics Or Any Business Course by franktolk(m): 12:41pm On May 18, 2013
With a B.sc in Physics you can adequately do ur masters in Economics. Economics as a discipline was actually a brainchild of Physics. If you check most Universities in UK,canada and US they do admit Bsc Physics for Masters in economics. I did my Masters in Financial forecasting and Investment in the dept of economics in the UK and I can tell u that many of my classmates then in quantitative economics and financial forecasting and investment were Bsc holders in Physics. There are modules like financial engineering, financial modelling, advance econometrics etc that u need strong physics and engineering background to handle. Best wishes!

Stay away from antiseptic soaps for now . Use mild liquid soap like palm olive brand , if at all u'll use bar soap and u live in Nigeria go for Lux and pls dont use the bar to rub ur face rather rub it on ur palm and then use ur palm for ur face.
If you're using sponge on your face pls stop, it causes the pimples to spread. I can say that hormonal changes is more or less the cause of ur pimples but overtime infection sets in . Try my suggestion for a week or 2 and u'll see a remarkable difference .
Stay blessed !

Nairaland / General / Re: Funny Ways You Communicated Before GSM Came To Nigeria by franktolk(m): 12:25pm On Feb 10, 2013
It used to be a very funny world then. In nigeria then, few homes had landlines. People used to send letters through the post offices or postal agencies near them, or through a friend or friend's friend ,relatives, drivers, word of mouth etc.
Then few people with telephone in their offices sometimes use the opprtunity to make urgent calls. Those days u'll go and wait for ur calls in a neighbour's'house.and I dont want to forget when we used to que up at NITEL office to make phone calls...
Then came the 090, which was still analog, then the business centres started coming up. Then we had internet coming to life at about 99/2000 , even then u'll have to go into a cafe to check ur mails. Employers then used to send letters to applicants through courier companies before they adopted emails. Its a long flashback into the past ... To be contd

How to Treat Scrotal Itching

By Samantha Volz, an eHow Contributing Writer
Itching in the male genital area can be caused by a number of things, including fungal infection and general irritation. It may be embarrassing to talk about, but face the facts: rash, irritation, infection and other problems can occur on any area of the body, even the ones we don't always want to talk about. If you are experiencing itching in the scrotal area of the groin, there are a few methods by which you can treat this uncomfortable itch.

Difficulty:
Moderately Easy
Things You'll Need:

Cotton underwear
Hydrocortisone cream
Instructions

Wear loose-fitting cotton underwear when you experience scrotal itching. This type of undergarment will increase ventilation in the groin area, which will prevent the growth of fungal infections. This alone may alleviate the itch.

Purchase an over-the-counter 1 percent hydrocortisone cream from a pharmacy or grocery store.

Apply the cream twice per day to the affected area; continue for at least 10 days, or until the itch is completely gone.

Bathe at least once per day, and always after activities that involve a lot of sweating. Dry the scrotal area well before getting dressed.

Tips & Warnings

Use plenty of lubrication during sexual intercourse to avoid chafing or drying in the scrotal area.
Consider washing with fragrance-free soaps, as certain perfumes can irritate sensitive areas of the body like the scrotum.
If symptoms seem to flare up only after sexual intercourse, check to make sure your partner does not have a candida or yeast infection, as these can be spread by sexual intercourse. You may also want to try a different brand of lubrication or condom if these seem to cause the irritation.
If the itching does not go away after two weeks of these treatments, or if symptoms get worse, consult a doctor.

I used to work with a bank in Maiduguri 2002 to 2005.after work there are loads of places to go ;GRA,unimaid,Ramat poly, maimalari barracks,Baga road and Baga fish mkt, custom area, london chinki,Lagos street,Bulumkutu area ,Post office is the city centre It was such a beautiful place. Saturdays when am off work I used to tour loads of cities and Villages around Borno,Adamawa,Yobe and even Taraba then.
In Borno state I can still remember lovely places like Biu,Mongunu,Gworza,Baga fish market... I remember entering Border town called Marwa ... And loads of other places that I cant remember now.
There used to be religious tolerance in Borno then because its a Xtian and Muslim state . Many southern Borno indigenes are Xtians.
Another thing I cant forget to mention, the native name of maiduguri is Yerwa and we call Maiduguri Home of Peace . I pray the Peace of God that passeth all understanding reign again in Borno state.
