so? Must they vote your choice or they don't have the right to have their own choice?

Same thing applies now . Let everyone vote whomever he deems fit . Everybody cannot vote for Obi , neither can everybody vote for Tinubu or Atiku .

I was merely correcting the OP who claimed that the south Easterners voted Obasanjo , but forgetting that Obasanjo was not the Yorubas choice but Olu Falae . If election that brought in Obasanjo had been between Obasanjo and a northerner , the south east wouldn't have voted for Obasanjo.

The S.E always vote against the S.W and I guess same applies vice versa.

Nobody should come and distort the history for us . The

Olu Falae was the Yorubas choice not Obasanjo go and check your records.

The South East always vote against the south west .

Abiola got massive votes from the Igbos in 1993, He won the election but his victory was truncated by the powers that be in abuja

Go back and check the records, the south Eastern states did not vote for Abiola rather they voted for Tofa( the south east always vote for the north against the south west) and by the way that's not Kudirat Abiola , the person in the picture is Simbiat Abiola.

Good job naptu.when I saw the topic I knew before opening the thread that the original poster must be you.
One more thing , Naptu you know this gospel song ( "Ese gan ni" or is "Adupe Baba" by Pastor Chigozie Wisdom)? I know it's an adaptation of one old highlife . I've tried so hard to remember the old highlife song but can't find it , it was originally done in Twi or Ga (Ghanaian language) or Igbo . Do you have an idea? ...
Listen to the tune of the "adupe baba by Chigozie" and try and see if you can remember the old highlife song I'm taking about ?

Politics / Re: Kashim Shettima's Emergence, Performance At NBA AGM Ruffles Feathers by franktolk(m): 8:40am On Aug 24, 2022
Faiththatworks:
I always start by making my bias very clear,I will vote Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for president of Nigeria next year.
I shudder at the noise coming from the camp of the opposition against the suit worn by his Excellency Sen Shettima 2 days ago at the NBA conference.
I have always been an advocate of allowing the citizens hear what the transformational plans of the presidential candidates of the different political parties for Nigeria will be next year, alas the mob crowd shifted from critizing their presentations to clowning about Sen Shettima suits.
From Asiwaju's Tinubu certificate to Sen Shettima connection with Boko Haram,to Muslim-muslim combination, now it's the suits, all of these while we allow the crazy mob crowd deprive us of the opportunity of listening to policy decisions that will affect everyone's life for another 4 years.
Asiwaju selection of Sen. Shettima is nothing short of that of a calculating political strategist, for the 1st time since Democracy was restored back in 1999,the real Hausa citizens have a shot of getting into the power.
From Alh Atiku in 1999 to Gov Yaradua in 2007,Alh Namadi Sambo,to Baba Buhari,it has always been one Fulani man exchanging the baton of leadership between themselves, while the Hausa men were just left as appendages of the Fulani.
I keep saying the silence of the Hausa men on the BBC Bandit of Zamfara documentary should scare any Fulani man,the Hausa men are plotting, reorganizing and strategizing on how to take over power.
2023 is a power struggle in the North,Sen. Shettima represents a break away for the average Hausa from the hegemony of the Fulani.
That's why I'm sure it will be a battle in the North, Alh Atiku and Sen Yisuf Datti represents a continuation of the old order,I also think it will be a terrible mistake for anyone to underestimate the prowess of Sen Kwankwanso up North.
2023 election will be very interesting especially in the Northern part of Nigeria.
God bless Nigeria.

Kashim Shettima is a Kanuri man

There's nothing wrong with brown roofs. When those houses you see with brown roofs were built they were the best of that era , even some places at that time we're still using thatched roofs.

Moh247:

Nigerian immigration and customs always give the impression that Nigerians are chronic beggars at the airport

The demarketing of Nigeria starts from the Airport, foriegners suddenly pick the negative vibes at the airport and think majority are like that

This same effect happens in Ibadan where people on transit pass through outskirt of Ibadan from Iwo Road to to Toll gate, seeing brown roofs from old building, and think a city with Towers, Malls , estates , airports, military base , 4 star hotels, worldclass Universities like U.I is all brown roof

[quote author=haslaw post=112859506]I condemn the killing of Deborah Samuel but we must also point out this evil attributes of Christian extremist who go about insulting Muslims at every given opurtunity.

There are no differences between the girl and her murderers. They are basically two sides of the same coin.

Christian extremist like Deborah Samuel should understand that it is not nice to be insulting or even making blasphemous statements about other people's religion as this are inflammatory statements that can quickly lead to religious crisis.

Christian clergy should teach their followers the doctrine of live and let's live.[/quote

Have you bothered investigating the matter before jumping into conclusion. please ask yourself or tell us exactly what the girl said or how exactly she said something derogatory about prophet Mohammad (Pbuh)?

Politics / Re: Niger President Thanks Nigeria Over $1.96bn Kano-Katsina-Maradi Railway Project by franktolk(m): 5:17pm On Apr 01, 2022
Can someone please explain why Nigeria is constructing rail line into Niger Republic . I understand that Niger Republic is a land locked country with no seaport once the rail line is completed will there be any payment receivable from Niger Republic or this is just a freebie gesture again ?

Did they weigh the economic advantage of constructing rail line linking the SW to the SE or another one linking SE to NE or NC against the proposed rail line to Niger Republic ?

This is a clear example of what is called corruption
"Corruption is a form of dishonesty or a criminal offense which is undertaken by a person or an organization which is entrusted with a position of authority, in order to acquire illicit benefits or abuse power for one's personal gain."

BBC Pidgin

I've always thought Nigeria is a secular state . Why will Nigeria be allowing the application of a separate kind of law on her citizenry. This is the genesis of Boko Haram and fanaticism .
At the end of the day , the same set of people will want a share of VAT on liquor , they will go about crying the north is bleeding . They kept a blind eye when the children of the northern elites show flagrant disregard for the tenets of what they are professing but are quick to pick on the commoner.
I pray one day , the average Nigerian will take his destiny in his hands , break off from the shackles of wicked leaders using religion and ethnicity to becloud the sense of judgement of the people and as excuses whenever it suits them to win over the naive citizenry.
