@ Efisher, I guessed u never knew that Pastor Tunde Bakare is a Lawyer called to the bar.

Friday, April 1, 2011Tunde Bakare's Profile: Meet the Lawyer, Pastor and Now Politician
It is not common in our world, or at least in this part of the world, to have somebody combine these three titles: Lawyer, Pastor and Politician. But that is exactly who Gbolahan Sindiku Babatunde Bakare is.

Born on November 11, 1954, the converted Moslem, now a church founder is widely recognised as a no-nonsense preacher of the gospel, often using the gospel to constructively criticise various Nigerian governments.

The fearless preacher was born and bred in Abeokuta, Ogun State, South-West Nigeria where he had his Primary and Secondary School education.

He furthered his education at the University of Lagos where he read law. He once served in the late Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Gani Fawehinmi's Chambers. Dr. Tunde Bakare was converted into Christianity at the age of 20. Got married at the age of 30 to Mrs. Olayide Bakare. The family is blessed with 5 children, 2 girls and 3 boys. The popular Preacher is the convener of the Save Nigeria Group and currently the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Congress For Progressive Change.

Romance / Re: Was I Wrong? Am I To Blame For All This? by franktolk(m): 10:10am On Mar 26, 2011
My guy, the fault is not your's at all. If she was meant for you,she would have stayed. We tend to over celeberate cosmetics at the expense of reality. If you had married this girl earlier and things aren't going the way she wanted the marriage would have ended abruptly. This is becos neither her or her family is patient and love and marriage is all about endurance and tolerance.
Remember this about love; if I have all faith so as to remove mountains,
but have not love, I am nothing.

And if I dole out all my goods, and
if I deliver my body that I may boast
but have not love, nothing I am profited.

Love is long suffering,
love is kind,
it is not jealous,
love does not boast,
it is not inflated.

It is not discourteous,
it is not selfish,
it is not irritable,
it does not enumerate the evil.
It does not rejoice over the wrong, but rejoices in the truth

It covers all things,
it has faith for all things,
it hopes in all things,
it endures in all things.

Love never falls in ruins;

Thank God you had a broken relationship and not a failed marriage.A girl that could be entertaining other guys in ur absence is not good enough for u. I know she'll realise her mistake very soon. Please move on, plenty fish in the ocean. Is this ur first relationship? If yes , never mind, many of the first relationships hardly lead to marriages, most times first relationship is a learning process. Now ur a man.

Wishing u the very best, as u put this story behind u, there's that lovely, beautiful and tolerant lady there waiting for you and when u meet her u'll realise how lucky u were that the other girl and her family went their way.

Cheer up!

Religion / Re: The Truth About Christ Embassy Healing School by franktolk(m): 8:01pm On Feb 09, 2011
Hello Sir John! thanks so much for ur long epistle, but its high time you started believing in John 14:13 "Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son"
The Bible in Psalm 118: 6 - 10 states that
6"The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?
7 The LORD is with me; he is my helper.
I look in triumph on my enemies.

8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD
than to trust in humans.
9 It is better to take refuge in the LORD
than to trust in princes.
I was able to see in ur post that ur faith had been built in Man and not God. All Pastors and ministers are gifts from God, they are there just to maintain checks and balances and not for us to mistake them for God.They are mere mortals like you and me but they deserve all respects. What has just happened to you is what befalls a xtian/person that places his faith in his Pastor and what his Pastor tells him.The Bible says like the Berean xtians you should search the scriptures.
Acts 17: 10-12
“And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable woman which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.”

I can understand ur pains , wot u got was not wot u had expected, but that does not make God A liar. I want to tell u that if U had exercised faith ur person would have got his Healing even without you taking him to the Healing school. The bible in Luke 9:1 says "When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases". So dont let our attitude and unbelief Make God a Liar.

It is well with you in Jesus Name. Amen! With Love from me to you!

Romance / Re: Guys Only: What Do Men Really Want In Ladies? by franktolk(m): 1:17pm On Oct 15, 2010
Hello,My Dearest lady

Without mincing words and deceiving ourselves, most guys would want to taste ur 'horney well'.Note my words, most guys not all guys.A lot depends on the way the lady shapens her relationship. When a guy becomes insecured in a relationship he thinks of nothin more than sleepin wth the girl, so as not to loose totally. But when a girl like u that doesnt really want to get involve in sex b4 marriage gives enough assurance and makes urself relevant in the guys day to day routine,he'll feel more relaxed wth you and think less bout bothering u about sex.Funny enough most girls too get commited in a relationship after the guy must have tasted their 'horney well' , call it different strokes for different folks.

Every guy needs a girl that is ready to show him respect, accepts that he's the head not a competitor or rival, guys dont really need your 'I luv you', rather it is ladies that need the I love you statement from the guy. That is why the Bible says husband love your wife and not wife love your husband.

I'm very sure there are many guys interested in you, but ur not interested. So dont just say ur not gettin suitors.Rather uv not met ur taste.Try and be more accesible, dont keep to urself alone,if ur a xtian join the choir, join youth groups, attend programmes.Learn to tolerate jokes, cos this is where most girls get it wrong.Keep an open mind and lastly never sell urself too cheap, u are too good to be wasted.I luv ur courage.

Best wishes!

I graduated from one of the federal Universities in Nigeria 11 years ago with a B.sc in Economics.Worked as a banker for 9years,qualified as an accountant in the course of work, but all through my banking career I was only in Banking operations, all attempt to change roles were futile. The job became so monotonous, the Lagos traffick hold ups never helped matters either likewise witch hunting and bad blood at work.
I knew I needed a break and a rebranding, so I left my job for a masters in Finance in the UK. Am grateful to God the M.sc programme is over now and its like am starting all over again from the scratch but I know the future is very bright though very challenging. If I dont lose hope I will surely eat the good of the land.Once there's a will there will always be a way.

A very wrong decision by Goodluck Jonathan and his advisors, are we now saying that even when a credible election can't be guaranteed in the nation called Nigeria,we cannot even have one in just a sporting Association called NFF.I strongly believe with a credible election the right set of officials can come in and revamp the NFF.Why are the opposition so weak that even before the election they're already anticipating a defeat.
Shame on Nigeria, this goes to show that we should forget about any credible National election come next yr.
SHAME!

If this forum called Nairaland is an avenue for some unscrupulous tribalists to plant seeds of envy, hatred, tribalism and jealousy in the hearts of men, then I gats to quit the forum as quick as possible.
I believe by now, with our level of exposure and enlightenement we should have relegated the issue of tribal sentiments to the past.I dont care where you're from;be you white, black, red, hausa, ibo, yoruba, efik,Tiv,Idoma,Ishan,Kanuri,Fulani, whatever, as long as you share same Red blood with me you are my Brother. Your character and personality determines the rest.
Let's make this world a better place, please expand your horizon and come out of your presumed comfort zone and enclave , learn to appreciate other cultures, there is a great pride in diversity.

It could have happened to any country.Read this from Guardian Newspaper,

[b]Super Eagles Denied Landing In Benguela, Travel By Road
From Ezeocha Nzeh, Abuja

ANGOLAN security agencies yesterday handed the Nigerian contingent to the Angola 2010 African Nations Cup an ugly reception when the Super Eagles' chartered flight from Durban, South Africa was denied landing at the city of Benguela, venue of Nigeria's group matches.
The Super Eagles' Team Coordinator, Emmanuel Atta who confirmed the story in a chat with The Guardian, regretted that the Angolan authorities requested that the team fly direct to Luanda rather than flying direct to Benguela for what they termed as security reasons.

According to Atta, Benguela has only one air space which is constantly used by the Angolan military which refused to allow the Eagles chartered flight to land.

The team, which left their Zimnbali Lodge Hotel in Durban yesterday at about 10.15 am, Atta said, had to re- route its flight to the Angolan capital city, Luanda where the players and officials were subjected to the agony of traveling by road for hours to Benguela.

"It not encouraging that the team will have to land first in Luanda before traveling by road to Benguela because of the refusal of the Angolan military and security authorities to allow our chartered flight to land direct at the Benguela military air base," Atta lamented.

The Super Eagles' team coordinator however assured that the road travel would not affect the mood of the team. He however regretted that the Angolan military and security authorities could not even change their decision even as the Nigerian ambassador in the country intervened to plead for the team to be allowed to land in Benguela to avoid being stressed up by the road trip from Luanda.

Before departing for Angola, the team was treated to a dinner party on Thursday by both the Nigerian Embassy in South Africa and the Mayor of Durban who noted that the Super Eagles would expressed hope that the team would come back to the city for the World Cup in June.

Meanwhile, Esperence of Tunisia striker, Michael Eneramo who was dropped by coach Amodu Shaibu for Chinedu Obasi, left the Super Eagles' camp before the team departed Durban for Angola.

Eneramo was said to have boarded a flight direct to Tunisia on Thursday where he is expected to rejoin his team.
