Did you see me mention PDP there and it was for a reason; they are not hypocrites. I mentioned the APC cos they are the majority and the party in power who promised change and a departure from the past and, alas, what we are seeing is them doing the same things they preached against. So tell me, who is the hypocrite here?

He is always having problems with positions occupied by easterners. . If he is not kicking for the replacement of the census boss , he is railing against the creation of more states in the east. Now it is the hopeless position of one hapless Ekweremadu. . Not to talk of his total neglect of Sabon gari kano as the governor and his endless confrontations with igbo traders there. Very polarising politician.

With 44 or so LGAs sprinkled all over Kano state, Kwankwaso's Kano is the greatest beneficiary from local govt allocations.
Kwankwaso's far north is the greatest beneficiary from the skewed distribution of states in Nigeria - states were unduly proliferated in the far north.
All these shenanigans by Kwankwaso and Co over who heads the NASS are pointers to tactics to sustain the present political structure as it is until PMB finishes his tenure. It is aimed to avoid talk of revisiting the reports of the last CONFAB by the present NASS.

Can you tell me any country in the world the citizens will tell a politician seeking elective position and having certificate scandal "Even if you present bread paper, we go vote for you"?

Which country will you find people cheering a politician who publicly said he took a loan by calling a bank ( without collateral ) and people be hailing him?

Which country will you find people hailing a man who's utterance resulted in the death of over 800 compatriots and show no remorse but followers be chanting Sai buhari?

The fact is, Buhari is ruling over animals, yes that is what Nigerians are, that is the effect of exalting a politician to the extent you gave him reasons not to show up in court to clear allegations surrounding his certificate and he had the nerves to tell Nigerians "Go to court and remain there"

What change were you expecting with a man having all the crooks surrounding him? i was surprise to read from APC goons on nairalander shortly after Seraki clinch SP yesterday, that EFCC should go after him, now this same animals ( buhari's cows ) knew all this while Seraki is corrupt, yet was happy since he could dole out billions of public funds to support buhari's election.

The Dele Giwa case was the tragedy of our times. I recall the case faintly....even though I was very young...as another scary event in a year of violence for Nigeria.

In 1986....Nigeria lurched from crisis to crisis. Our economy was in dire straits...so much so that we had to take SAP. Lawrence Anini was terrorizing parts of the country in his Volks Santana. 19 Students were killed in ABU Zaria...sparking off a nationwide student revolt that lasted one month, and the religious fabric of the nation was under severe strain...Sharia and population figures were in the dispute(This religious fight reached its pinnacle in 1987....with the burning down of several churches in Kaduna State following an offensive anti-Islam comment made by a cleric in Kafanchan). And on top of that comes the letter bomb death of Dele Giwa...something which had never happened in Nigeria...something which you saw on videos of American films...something which happened only outside the country and was associated with oppressive governments. (in 1982..Ruth First..anti-apartheid campaigner, and wife of Joe Slovo and comrade of Nelson Mandela was killed by a letter bomb in London...sent by the BOSS...the intelligence agency of the Apartheid South African govt). I recall as a young child feeling scared and frightened one fine sunny day in June 86....and wondering...when will it all end.?

The tragedy of Dele Giwa's death was not that it happened , but that it has never been solved.Indeed...today, we have a lot of people excusing otherwise seriously corrupt activities ,and even violence...because Nigeria has not changed in any way from 1986(Well...you can make a decent phone call outside the country easily...and computers have become smaller and more ubiqutious...and there are more channels on TV...but that misses the point!). Dele Giwa's blood is still crying for vengeance....as is the blood of Fatima Mustapha and the 18 ABU students, and the many others who have died because Nigerians refuse to hold their governments accountable. Perhaps if we are to move from the ghosts of 1986...we must,as a nation get some things right. We must call every Nigerian....to account.

But,as in 1986....I doubt that is going to happen.Nigerians prefer.....to turn away and get on with our business. It did not affect us after all.

Welcome to the Country of Poorville. How on earth do they plan to achieve that? There are about 100 million persons in Nigeria that fit into the defined category.That means you are giving or plan to give N 500 billion every month or N 6 trillion yearly based on the existing estimate of the number of Poors. Now if you factor in the monthly influx of undocumented across the borders, you are fundamentally renaming Nigeria as Poorville. Nigerians have historically been deceived by their phantom resource blessing. This is simply not true.... Religious invocation that you must multiply and fill the earth is perhaps ill advised. Maybe the Vice President is cognizance of that fallacy when he alluded to increased fertility outdoing the available resources to sustain the resulting population increase. Mr. Vice President must visit his church and Mosques more often with a counter message that that section of Koran, Bible etc. will not fare well with the present economic realities. Rather than give out N 5000 to every poor Nigerian, institute a mandatory Birth Control to strict Border management (Immigration Control) to stem the geometry increase in population. Factually a limit of 2 children per family must be enforceable through sterilization. Next, massive infrastructure repairs and superhighways constructions to link all parts of Nigeria must be pursued. Instead of spending $2.5 billion monthly as handouts this money can help invigorate the planned project and further ensure full employment. Corruption is a dedicate dancing routine engaged by those who practised it. The reality is that it has been made a part of Nigerian culture and strongly rooted in it. Most of those who vow to fight it are paying only lip service to the cause and unfortunately they are ones who benefit most from it. Of those cited in Halliburton's Scandal, the two principals are in the Buhari's delegation to AU conference in South Africa. This is an indication of the nature of things to come and that is Fraud and Corruption are part of Nigeria.

The repercussions would be felt all over.
Bashir committed war crimes, but it would be left for a subsequent Sudanese govt to repatriate him or not, not to a foreign govt he was allowed to set foot on.Its like kidnapping a foreign president,it's not done.

The more recent bill proposed by Ms Anyanwu increased the punishment applicable to having sex with a girl below 11. It didn't say that one can have sex with a girl above that age. There's a lot of falsehoods that seem to fly around in Nigeria and which poisons debate. Sadly, even the highly educated and accomplished are not immune to the sensationalism.
