It shows that APC Leaders in Osun are heartless and hv no human feeling. what is Aregbe doing wt d security votes, what are d APC Senators and REPS doing wit peoples constituency Allowancehuh
emmasege:
Osun is and will continue to be a subject of discussion because Aregbese once claimed that he needn't wait for FG allocations before paying salaries. Two, no state currently owes more than Osun. Get your facts right. Don't tell me about Benue state because the current SSG was on Channels earlier in the week and claimed that their civil servants have been paid up till February. The 11 months only applies to primary school teachers who ideally shouldn't be paid by state governments. But for 'corruption' reason, most states hijacked their salary payments and divert the funds elsewhere, which is most likely the case in Benue and Imo. But in Osun state, our O'Governor is owing state civil servants including primary school teachers to the tune of eight months now.
PoliticsRe: Buhari's Age Limitation: Nigerians Mock Femi Adesina by free13: 11:36am On Jun 18, 2015
mrmetoo1:
The point is, it wasn't the right defence for what Buhari was trying to say. Buhari said he wished he became president at the age he was governor, his spokesperson is talking about fine wine. What both are saying doesn't gel. Femi's defence almost seemed like he's trying spin what Buhari said. All he could have said was "obviously there are limitations that come with age but that won't stop this administration from achieving all they intend to achieve". He could go on to talk about the trips Buhari has undertaken since he became president just over two weeks ago as evidence that Buhari is still very strong and healthy.

However, the best thing would have been not to even defend it at all. I don't think it was such a big issue.

VOICEOFJUSTICE:
[b]Calls for 'total' Sharia in Nigeria
2001-08-27 21:32

Lagos - A former military ruler of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has called for the introduction of 'total' Islamic law across the country, reports said on Monday.

Buhari, who ruled Nigeria from a coup in December 1983 to his ouster in 1985, told a seminar in Kaduna, northern Nigeria, at the weekend that the strict Islamic law code known as the Sharia should be introduced in full across Nigeria.

"I will continue to show openly and inside me the total commitment to the Sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria," Buhari said, quoted in press reports.

"God willing, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the Sharia in the country," Buhari said.

Northern Nigeria is mainly Muslim but southern Nigeria is mainly Christian and has led criticism of the introduction of Islamic law in a dozen northern states in the past 18 months.

Africa's most populous country has been shaken repeatedly in the past by religious unrest. In February 2000 between 2 000 and 3 000 people were killed by Christian-Muslim riots in Kaduna over the introduction of Sharia.

Call for Sharia across the country

Buhari's comments were interpreted by the southern-based papers as a call for the imposition of Sharia all across the country, even in the mainly Christian south.

"Buhari calls for Sharia in all states," was the headline of the respected newspaper The Guardian.

Buhari's comments were defended by supporters as simply a call for the full implementation of Sharia in areas where Muslims predominated.

But the comments are the second by Buhari that have courted controversy after he called earlier this year for Muslims to vote at the next presidential elections only for someone who would defend their faith.

This was criticised by the press as a call for voting along religious lines, as well as an attack on the current president, Olusegun Obasanjo, who is a Christian.

Buhari made the latest comments at a seminar organised by the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria, a newly set up body attended by northern state governments and Islamic scholars.

"It is a legal responsibility which God has given us, within the context of one Nigeria, to continue to uphold the practice of Sharia wholeheartedly , and to educate non-Muslims that they have nothing to fear," he said.

"What remains for Muslims in Nigeria is for them to redouble their efforts, educate Muslims on the need to promote the full implementation of Sharia law," he went on. - AFP

We don't have civil rights activists in Nigeria. Gani was the last breed of those worthy to bear that name.

Falana in particular has been a huge let down. Choosing to speak when his pay masters and political allies are affected and keeping an undignified silence when they are culpable.

I am very sure if the NASS elections had favoured his pay masters, he wouldn't be ranting.

I have lost confidence in him and others that parade themselves as activists.
PoliticsRe: Fg Picks Geregu, Itu As 2,400mw Nuclear Power Sites by free13: 10:13am On Jun 18, 2015
yemi15:
Good, I thought I was the only one. The going rate for a 1,000MW electricity is $1billion and could be less. The most for that same amount should be $1.2billion. How come $4billion per 1000MW electricity construction costs?
yemi15:
I am on board with coal power plants, India is a good model for coal power plants. Nigeria has a large deposit of coal which should be utilized to bring electricity to Nigerians. Besides, it is way cheaper than nuclear power but unfortunately, not environmentally friendly (better in terms of industrial accident consequences than nuclear power in my opinion).
Added advantage is there is no pipeline vandalism - the main problem with gas power plants (a possible solution could be liquefied natural gas instead which can then be transported in rail tracks to the power plants), railway tracks can be routed from the mines to the power plants. Nice idea, the government should be looking into instead of a potentially unsafe and hazardous nuclear power.
major466:
Exactly. With coal, generating 10,000MW of electricity can be achieved within a short peroid of time, maybe 10 years or less.
The risk associated with coal are much much less compared with Nuclear Energy. Some will argue that Nuclear power generates clean energy compared to coal. Yes its true, interms of green house emissions nuclear power standsout. However the waste produced by Nuclear energy sources are non biogradable and highly catastrophic compared to coal energy.

My sympathy for Borno people is dieing gradually, the corporation of the natives in the fight against terror has been weak.

Abubakar Shekau has a family, where is his family?. who is his father? where are his children? where are his classmates?, primary, secondary and higher institutions. how come we don't have the profile of this man. he reads fluently, meaning he went to school.

I remember, in 2012 when this madness was at its embryonic stage, GEJ was told to pull back the military by Borno elders as he visited the area. at the meeting he requested the elders to sign an accord that they will call their sons to order and he will pull back the military. He told them that people can't be dieing and all the elders are asking is that the military should be pulled back.

they refused to sign that agreement. Here we are today

Arrest that Shetima and Ali Modu Sheriff and we are half way in solution to this madness.>>

what i find shocking is that, Bokoharam at a time released a video requesting GEJ to convert to Islam as part of their demands.

Today PMB is in power and the blood suckers wont stop.

May terror visit the children and lineage of those calling for amnesty for these bastards

The genius in tinubu make lagos stand tall" i cant believe i just read thrash!! Someone that have destroy the economy of the state through Alpha-Beta is a genius? Lagos is now owing a debt of 415 billion Naira because of wastage by this genius. Under Pa. jakande administration, Lagos use to borrow states and neighbouring countries money but all that is a story now. No single input into education, LASU is one of the worst university in Nigeria in terms of infrastructure, thank God for federal government projects "TEDFUND AND PTF" E.tc yet they will tell you that FG neglected Lagos. Goto Laspotech for example and check, most ongoing projects are FG projects under GEJ administration. Fashola only manage to carry out some project all because he just will and not the party. Lagos as become a private firm to him where he can just take at will..and you are here hailing a man that have contributed nothing but corruption all over Nigeria. If truly his a genius he should bail out aregbesola that he help ruin. Look at all the politician that was doing well under PDP, it was when they associate themselves with him that they become worst. Rochas was doing fine before, now his owing 11months salary. Ameachi was competing with awka ibom before, he started a metroline and mouth watering project, when he join tinubu he left serious debt in the state which is inexplicable. How come! That rich state. Fayemi in ekiti almost ruin the state, a state earning lower allocation was forced to buy helicopter by your genius which fayose cancel immediately he come on board. Fayose is a tout but is first term in office he left N30 billion in the state account without no debt. Fayemi under APC ruin the state, squander the N30 billion naira and failed to pay workers 5months salary. If fayose had not come at that critical time, ekiti will be owing 7month salary now just like osun. Now the 5 months salaries owned by fayemi has been reduced to 2months by fayose. I dont understand the genius in a man that care less about development but corrupt ambition. Thank GOD ekiti and ondo are free from slave trade. A man that went to ondo state and tell them that they dont need all this mega schools mimiko is building! and you still call that man genius!!
