A suspected Boko Haram member has been apprehended in a failed attempt to detonate an explosive device in a crowded area. Imam Imam, Media Aide to Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state today, 25th of December, tweeted a photo of a suicide bomber who was
arrested in Gombe state. Reports have it that the male suicide bomber in the Billiri area of the state who disguised as a woman was nabbed before he was able to detonate a bomb attached to his body. The suspect was malhandled by the angry mob before he was handed over to security
operatives for investigative purposes.

Tragedy was averted as a major bloodshed would have taken place barely 48 hours after the honourable Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed declared that the Federal Government has won the war against Boko Haram insurgency in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria.

2015 Prophecies That Never Occurred

ABAH ADAH, Andrew Essien, PAUL CHIAMA

— Dec 25, 2015 3:46 am

A prophecy is a message of revelation which a prophet or clairvoyant, believed to be in divine communion with God, receives from God and passes to people concerning what is to happen in future.

Nigeria has had a bumper harvest of prophecies in 2015, majority of them predetermining the outcome of the 2015 presidential election. In this edition,
LEADERSHIP Friday highlights those prophecies that never occured.

Abah Adah, Andrew Essien and Paul Chiama write.

1. Prophet Olaniyi Odutayo

Prophet Olaniyi Odutayo of the World Prophetic Church, Ikeja, had in the countdown to the March 28, 2015 presidential poll affirmed that God revealed to him that President Goodluck Jonathan would defeat three strong contenders to emerge victorious. Odutayo, who was said to have fasted for 40 days, declared that God revealed to him that
although the opposition would win more
states in the election, President Goodluck
Jonathan would still remain in power till
2019.

2. Prophet Joseph Oladipupo.

Prophet Joseph Oladipupo is the shepherd in charge of Faith and Victory Church located in Akure, the Ondo State capital and one of those whose prophecies concerning the 2015 presidential elections never were. According to him, God said Muhammadu Buhari, the major challenger of the then incumbent president, Jonathan, would not
win. “The upcoming election will be very tough for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but they will win the presidency,” he said.

3. Primate Elijah Ayodele

In January, 2013, founder and General Overseer of Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, predicted that God showed him Jonathan would continue to rule till 2019. “The 2015 elections will hold but will be peaceful in some areas and not in other areas. As it is, from what I see at the moment, PDP will win, amidst serious criticism,” he said.

4. Apostle Johnson Suleman

“With the level of bloodshed I saw, it is better Goodluck goes now to his village quietly. 2015 election is another June 12. The man who truly won will not govern or rule,” was how Apostle Johnson Suleiman put his own.

5. Alhaji Musa Ayeni

Alhaji Musa Ayeni was the Presidential candidate of the African Peoples Alliance (APA). Like the prophet of old, he had before the election claimed that he had been ordained by God to take over the mantle of
leadership from President Jonathan after May 29.
The politician told newsmen in Akure, that his decision to join the presidential race was in obedience to divine call from God. “I came into the race because God directed me to contest the election. God told me categorically that I will succeed President Goodluck Jonathan and I believe what God
says, hence, my resolve to contest the forthcoming presidential election,” Ayeni, who was former deputy governor in the old Ondo State said.

6. Prophet Paul Okikiiesu

A Lagos prophet, Paul Okikijesu was not quite clear with his prediction, but said correctly that Buhari might be voted for. He said “If Buhari can surrender his heart to me, he will win the election. Nevertheless despite people’s mandate, they will neither release
power to him nor swear him in as the president of the nation. His situation will be similar to Abiola that had people’s mandate, but was not given the chance to rule the country.” .

7. Guru Maharaji

The spiritual leader of One Love Family, Sat Guru Maharaji, stated categorically “There is no vacancy for Buhari at Aso Rock. President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is the verifiable divine choice of the forthcoming presidential election.”

8. Prophet Micheal Olubode

Prophet Micheal Olubode, the prophet of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) was also sure of Goodluck Jonathan’s victory. “I want to let the people of Nigeria know that The Lord will return His Excellency, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to his presidential seat” he declared.

9. Apostle B. B Frederick

From Ghana came Apostle B.B Frederick who declared based on ‘inspiration of the Almighty’ that “President Jonathan is the set man for Nigeria and his next term on the seat will bring liberation to Nigeria”.

10. Prophet Godfrey Gbujie

Prophet Godfrey Gbujie, who had predicted the deaths of former military ruler, Gen Sani Abacha and former president, Shehu Yar’Adua, told newsmen in Owerri that neither Goodluck Ebele Jonathan nor Gen
Muhammadu Buhari would win in 2015. He added that “Buhari has a mission divinely imposed on him, but he shall not rule this country again; even if he wins, God has not determined him to find His favour. Jonathan is the last elected president of this country.”

11. Pastor Dapo Adeniyi

Pastor Dapo Adeniyi stated that while Buhari may have good agendas to eradicate corruption in Nigeria, it was unfortunate that he would not win the election. “Though he will give Ebele Jonathan tough time, he will accuse the PDP of rigging the election, go to court but justice will not prevail. What a pity!
I see him fainting and uncooperative to ensure the peace of Nigeria after his defeat.”

12. Dr Okhue Iboi

The most bizarre came from the National coordinator and spokesman of Witches and Wizards Association of Nigeria (WITZAN), Dr Okhue Iboi. He said “I don’t see General Mohammadu Buhari ruling this country. We don’t have a political party but if anyone seeks our help, we shall render it. There was
a time witches in Benue State invited other witches across the country to offer prayers for the Senate President, David Mark, against impeachment. We flew to Otukpo and later to a village called Owetor. That was where we offered the prayers” he said.

13. Reverend Saviour Awusi

Reverend Saviour Awusi is the founder and General Overseer of God’s Divine Favour Evangelical Church, Okota, Lagos. His voice was not missed when prophetic utterances were rising from the pulpits at the dawn of this year. Awusi prophesied, “Thus says the Lord: ‘By my mercy, President Jonathan would surely win this year’s presidential election. And all those who are against him shall be put to shame.”

14. Babatunde Elijah Ayodele

The founder of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke-Afa, Isolo, Lagos, Babatunde Elijah Ayodele, came up with some prophecies too. He foretold ahead of the election: “Kaduna is going to be very bloody. PDP may take Kaduna, but it’s going to be by narrow margin. Yobe, Gombe, Benue, Delta, Akwa Ibom, all those states will be won by PDP.” After the election, Kaduna was calm and not bloody. APC’s candidate, Nasiru el-Rufai, won the governorship election, beating PDP’s Ramalan Yero. Also, the PDP missed clinching Yobe and Benue governorship seats as the
primate had predicted.

15. Archbishop John Obiokeke

Archbishop John Obiokeke of God Pentecostal Mission Churches is reputed to have made some predictions which came to pass. However, his predictions on the 2015 presidential election seem to have missed the mark. At the early hours of 2015, he made predictions which foretold the coming back
of Jonathan after the election. He had prophesied in January, “God is saying that there is no vacancy in Aso Rock.

16. Pastor Success Ibeakanma

Senior pastor of Royal Choice Ministries, Lagos, Pastor Success Ibeakanma, made a prophecy early this year pointing to the 2015 election. He foretold, “In the presidential election of 2015, APC will try but PDP will win.”

17. Primate Theophilus O. Olabayo:

Theophilus Olabayo, the founder of Evangelical Church of Yahweh, Lagos, somehow got it wrong on who had the divine seal to win the presidential election. He also missed the target on who was to become Lagos State governor. He had earlier predicted, “God has revealed to me that if at all there is going to be a presidential election, it will be inconclusive just like the June 12, 1993, election that we had during the time of late Chief M.K.O Abiola.”

18. Pastor Emeka Agwu

Pastor Emeka Agwu is the General Overseer, Voice of Evangelism International, Houston, Texas, USA. Also, he organised Diaspora Prayers for Dr Jonathan’s Victory ahead of the election. His prophecy concerning the election came thus: “They want Jonathan resigned or changed, but God has given
Jonathan the 2015 election key of victory.”

19. Brother Joshua Iginla

Prophet Joshua Iginla is the founder of Champions Royal Assembly, a new- generation church based in Abuja. He is among those who missed the message on
who will be Nigeria’s president following the 2015 elections. Joshua once said in an interview in January
this year, “I am not a politician nor do I belong to any political party. I am just speaking God’s mind. The person sitting on the seat might not be perfect but he will retain the seat. It’s not guesswork… President
Jonathan will win, but he has to pray about his health and so many political blows.”

Nairaland GeneralRiding Bmw Bike From London To Lagos: I Won't Do It Again - Andrew by Freegift75(op): 12:39pm On Dec 24, 2015
www.abelabel.com/2015/12/24/nigerian-man-who-rode-a-bmw-bike-from-london-to-lagos-says-he-will-not-do-it-again-shares-his-story/

Andrew Began from Britain to Spain and From Spain to Africa. He shared it all and his experience on the way;

“I first got a ferry from Portmouth, UK to Bilbao, Spain. It was around November, then, the weather was cold throughout Europe, assuming it was during summer, I would have ride from London to Dover to France then to Spain, but the ferry played a big role in cutting the journey short. It took one full day to cross Spain from North to South. At the Southern part of Spain, I took a ferry to Morocco. Upon my arrival to Morocco, I was happy that I am in Africa.

“In Morocco, I had to process a visa to go to Mauritania since Mauritania is no longer part of ECOWAS. The visa processing wasted part of my time in Casablanca. I spent 3 days inside Morocco because it is a big country. Bear in mind that I was still a learner, although certified and tested, I fell off the bike once inside Morocco because I forgot there was a stand in the bike which I didn’t pull down. So from Morocco, I got to Western Sahara, this is a region controlled by Moroccans. From Western Sahara, I got to somewhere called ‘No Man’s Land’. This is a stretch of land between Western Sahara and Mauritania. This was the worst and hardest part of the journey because there was no road; it was just mountains, sands, rocks, toxic waste, and land mines e.t.c. I had my second fall here.

By and large, I made it to the capital of Mauritania and stayed in a hotel owned by a Cameroonian. Mauritania can be described as a place where the Arab world meets the black world. Something occurred to me when I was leaving Mauritania, the people at the border wanted to collect extra money to stamp my British and Nigeria passport but I
ignored them till I made my way to the Senegalese border.

“They said Ghana was going to be a problem and behold it was! I slept at the Ivory Coast- Ghana border for 3 days because I had to wait for them to do the necessary paper work before I can enter into the country; also they had to put a tracker on my bike so they can track my movement in the country. I paid $300 for the tracker. On the 3rd day after all the
paper work was done, I rode to Elmina where I stayed 2 nights. I visited the Elmina Slave Fort popularly called Elmina Castle; it was a depressing tour because I toured the gate-of- no-return where the white men used in transporting our people as slaves. It’s an emotional place that can make any Blackman to fight every Whiteman he sees on his way.

From Elmina I rode to Accra where I lodged in a big
hotel called La Palm Beach Hotel, the workers there were rude, it was in the hotel that I noticed the animosity of Ghanaians towards Nigerians, they don’t like us. I only spent 1 night there because the attitude of the staffs there doesn’t seem hospitable. I left Accra the next day and rode towards Aflao border where I met with the immigration officer who has been calling my phone to monitor my movement while I was in Elmina and Accra. The immigration officer removed my tracker and I proceeded towards Togo without any problem.

Togo was nice; the hotels are beautiful with moderate rate. I had to fix my bike in Lome because I notice some of the wires had melted, it took 3 days.”

Where was the emotional part of the journey for him?

“That will be within the borders of Senegal and
Mali. There is a small border town where a lot
of activities take place; it’s a busy place because
Lorries and trucks pass through there to make
it to Mali which is a landlocked country. I was in
the border town when I suddenly heard some
girls speaking Pidgin English; I called one of
them and ask where she came from, she
replied by ‘I am from Nigeria ooh’. This girl
looks like an 18years old, as young as my
daughter. I asked her what she’s doing there,
she replied by saying ‘I be prostitute oooh’, I
was shocked and at the same time inquisitive.
She opened up to me and explained how those
traffickers tricked them that they are going to
take them to Europe, upon getting to that
border, they seized their passport and told
them that this is where they will start work.
They have no passport, no means of getting
home and no hope, all they do is prostitution,
and the proceeds from prostitution is shared
among those who are controlling them so they
can’t save enough to return home. They are
used as sex slaves. If I can remember well,
there were atleast 30 Nigerian girls in that
border and they range between 16 to 40 years
old. It was shame and very depressing, I always
reflect on the memory of that border every
time. The only thing I could do for those girls
was to empty my pocket and give them money,
some of them even gave me their phone
number and told me that I should remember
them when I get to Nigeria, I almost criedsad I
felt sober and weak.”

He got to Benin and Togo before reaching Nigeria;

“I got to Benin Republic after days of fun and
relaxation in Togo. I did not feel too good in
Benin Republic, though, I don’t know why, my
vibes were bad, and my instinct told me to get
out of that country as soon as possible. I just
headed straight to the Seme border, where I
was asked to pay 40,000CFA which is around
$60, I had no choice than to pay. I left Benin
side and rode to the Nigerian side of the
border. To my astonishment, I was given a
grand welcome, I didn’t pay anything, everyone
is just welcoming me, I even wanted to give
them a tip; they said ‘no you’ve suffered,
welcome home’.”

Will he do this again?
“Definitely not by bike, I will do it by car and
for a longer period. I will travel more
extensively within each country.”

President Jonathan May Spend 7 Years In
Prison After Tenure!!***

These are some of the predictions of
Prophet Marcus Tibetan, the Parish Head of
Celestial Church of Christ, Elisha Parish, for
the year 2013. Respected for the accuracy of
his predictions, Prophet Marcus Tibetan who
is widely referred to as the Nostradamus of
our time predicts that ten Ministers in the
cabinet of President Goodluck Jonathan
would be dropped this year for being
ineffective and incompetent. President
Goodluck Jonathan, says the prophet, should
pray against losing loved ones in this year
2013.

The President should pray very hard against
a situation that would arise and make him
spend at least seven years in jail after his
tenure as President of Nigeria.

He further predicts that the Senate
President, David Mark, should begin to wind
up and prepare for his exit from politics as
disgrace is imminent.

Christianity EtcPHOTO: TB Joshua Prophecy Against Buhari Not Real, RCCG Indicted by Freegift75(op): 6:40am On Dec 19, 2015
A Nigerian, Bolanle Niyi sent a mail with some allegations leveled against the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Pastor E. A.Adeboye.

Bolanle, who claimed she is an ardent follower of the
man of God, called the attention of the public to a certain
publication which was sold exclusively in camp
(according to her) during the just concluded annual
congress tagged ‘Floodgates Of Heaven’. Read the mail
below, as sent to Laila Ijeoma’s mailbox:

”My name is Bolanle Niyi. I have attended the Holy Ghost Congress with Daddy G.O. of RCCG, Pastor Adeboye for several years now and would say that I have always left uplifted and encouraged in my faith in God and country.

It was a great shock, therefore, when I read the
newspapers sold exclusively during this year’s congress titled, FLOODGATES OF HEAVEN which included blatant lies about another man I also love and respect, Prophet T.B. Joshua.

There were different evangelical items being sold in the camp like stickers, wristbands, handkerchiefs, anointing oil, Daddy GO’s pictures, books and audio tapes to name a few.

I bought a Christian newspaper titled “THE SHEPHERD” Vol 12 No 13 from an accredited vendor in the Redeemed camp, which had a headline story: PRAY FOR BUHARI NOT TO DIE IN POWER – T.B. JOSHUA WARNS.

The article claims T.B. Joshua prophesied the death of Buhari in office, stating that he was not Nigeria’s
messiah. The article added that T.B. Joshua predicted that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo would take over and later be assassinated by an ex-military Head of State.

Another article in the paper stated that Prophet T.B.
Joshua recently held a crusade in Kaduna and addressed journalists at the airport concerning what God showed him about President Buhari. To make matters worse, another publication I had bought, titled “CHURCHMIND”, had an equally falsified story, titled “TB JOSHUA WARNS BUHARI – HANDLE BIAFRA ISSUES WITH CAUTION”. It claimed that the Prophet pleaded with Buhari to personally intervene in the Biafra issue.

These papers were sold inside the camp where
government officials were present, such as Vice President Osinbajo, Lagos State Governor Ambode and Ondo State Governor Mimiko. For those who don’t believe me, I took pictures of the publications and have attached them.

I am SHOCKED that Redeemed Christian Church Of God could be used to sell such lies. As an avid viewer of Emmanuel TV, I know for a fact that T.B. Joshua NEVER said such. I mean, he has not been seen in his own church since before his crusade in Mexico in May and has not been seen in public since his visit to the President of Tanzania in October of this year. He certainly has not held any crusade in Kaduna or any other state in Nigeria for that matter and has never spoken publicly about Biafra. I know that all prophecies given by Prophet T.B. Joshua are shown on Emmanuel TV.

Since I left the congress, I have been asking myself what could possibly be the motive for writing, publishing and releasing such fabrications? Out of concern, I checked the major newspaper stands in Lagos and could not find these newspapers anywhere else. I went to Ojuelegba, Oshodi and Ikeja – nothing. Does this mean they were prepared solely for the Congress? I can only conclude that they willingly did this to try to stir up a crisis between TBJ and Buhari.

For how long will Nigerian pastors endorse division and spread falsehoods about fellow ministers of God? What kind of religion is this? Jesus is the Truth and commands us to speak truth to our neighbours.

I am highly disappointed that such a respectable figure in Nigerian Christian society, Daddy G.O. can lower his standards to such a degree to allow this. Imagine what an impact we would have on the kingdom of darkness if we were one and dropped all of this jealousy, envy and resentment.

Unfortunately, the Congress has left me more confused than before I attended.”

There's no gainsaying there's gonna be a severe slash in subsidy payments in the forthcoming year given the whispers about the policy in government circles.

I know some folks would wanna call me a hypocrite for being supportive of this when I stood firmly against it in the last admin. Let me state for the record and for the last time, most of us who did did so because of the sleaze that was the hallmark of Jonathan's admin. We knew nothing good would come out of it and indeed we were proven right by the revelations made by Christopher Kolade, the guy appointed to manage the funds saved from the partial removal: SURE-p was a humongous scam.

It shall be well with Nigeria.
Last administration could not be trusted with the subsidy removal. It was glaring then and that was why we all protested against the removal.

But now we have new administration that the masses rely and believe. The leadership of this present dispensation is trustworthy and that's why we all support the removal.

Watchout, NLC will have no doubt but to support
Pastor Tunde Bakare also has been whispering, echoing the removal for over three months now. They all know Buhari will see stealing as corruption.

PoliticsHistory Of Power Generation In Nigeria & The Lies by Freegift75(op): 4:55am On Dec 19, 2015
NDPHC Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. James Olotu, while presenting NIPP Status Report on December 14, in Lagos, said more power stations had been completed in various parts of the country. These plants, he said, have cumulatively added 1,687.5megawatts (MW) to the national output.
THE HISTORY OF POWER GENERATION IN NIGERIA

Under colonial rule, Nigeria started electricity generation and supply in 1896.

In 1929, it set up the Nigeria Electricity Supply Company (NESCO) as an electricity utility company operating a hydroelectric power station near Jos, Plateau State.

In 951, the Electricity Corporation of Nigeria (ECN) was established. The first 132KV line was built in 1962, to link Ijora power station in Lagos to Ibadan power station.

Since then, there have been increases in electricity
infrastructure and changes both in the nomenclature
and operations of the regulating agencies. The Niger
Dams Authority (NDA) was established in 1962 with a
mandate to develop the hydro-power sub-sector. It was merged with the ECN in 1972. It was followed by the coming of the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) and the current National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) as the search for stable power supply in the country continues.

Military Setback
Nigeria’s power infrastructure however faced a major
setback under the military regime to the extent that most of its hydro-electric dams were allowed to decay and the transmission and distribution equipment and lines became obsolete until in 1998 when the Federal Government initiated efforts to end NEPA’s monopoly of electricity generation, transmission, distribution and sales.

Coming of NIPP

The most significant measures taken by the government to re-jig the industry came in August 2005 when the National Council of State (NCS) and the National Assembly approved an initial funding of US$2.5 billion for the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) from the “Excess Crude Oil Account.

The Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited
(NDPHC) was thereafter incorporated as a limited liability company to serve as the legal vehicle to hold the NIPP assets. The mandate of the NDPHC included construction and expansion of the country’s power infrastructure to boost electricity generation and supply across the country.

In 2008, the National Economic Council (NEC) voted US $5.375 billion from the excess crude account as Power Emergency Fund (PEF) to complete NIPP. NEC also inaugurated the NIPP Steering Council in January 2009, chaired by President Goodluck Jonathan, then the country’s vice president with six state governors and four ministers as members.

The NIPP Steering Council, which has transformed as the board of directors of NDPHC is headed by Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo.

In February 2009, the council approved phase I budget of US$2.213 billion from the PEF of US$5.375 billion to complete the first phase of the NIPP projects. It also approved US$423.639 million to PHCN as special intervention fund.

In June 2010, the council approved US$123.110 million to augment the phase 1 budget and N1.750 billion to buy NDPHC corporate headquarters in Abuja.

With these funds, the NDPHC built several gas turbine
plants, distribution and transmission equipment and
lines in the country.

The way out is hardwork toward (Nigeria) producing what you consume. If refineries worked then fuel will be easily available. Same fuel that's in excess on many vessels waiting for buyer in sea is what you couldn't get readily. If we had a working refinery then we would have to incur extra cost that comes with refining oil in dollar domain, this alone could improve fuel prices by N10/Ltr. Ask yourself with oil selling for record low in a long time, do you think Benin, Togo,Ghana are experiencing scarcity? 90% of challenges faced by us are simulated by somebody somewhere making money from it. As Buhari brings change I expect these things to go away.

Nigeria will be the third most populous country in the world by 2050, standing behind just India and China, a United Nations study has projected.

Nigeria’s population, currently the seventh largest in the world, is growing most rapidly and is projected to surpass that of the United States by about 2050, at which point the African country would become the third largest in the world.

According to a new UN report, “World Population Prospects: The 2015 Revision”, the current world population of 7.3 billion is expected to reach 8.5 billion by 2030, 9.7 billion in 2050 and 11.2 billion in 2100.

“Understanding the demographic changes that are likely to unfold over the coming years, as well as the challenges and opportunities that they present for achieving sustainable development, is key to the design and implementation of the new development
agenda,” Wu Hongbo, UN under-secretary-general for economic and social affairs, said.

Most of the projected increase in the world’s population can be attributed to a short list of high-fertility countries, mainly in Africa, or countries with already large populations.

During 2015-2050, half of the world’s population growth is expected to be concentrated in nine countries: India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, United Republic of Tanzania, United States of America (USA), Indonesia and Uganda, listed according to the size of their contribution to the total growth.

China and India remain the two largest countries in the world, each with more than 1 billion people, representing 19 and 18 % of the world’s population, respectively. But by 2022, the population of India is expected to surpass that of China.

By 2050, six countries are expected to exceed 300 million: China, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and the USA.

During this period, the populations of 28 African countries are projected to more than double, and by 2100, ten African countries are projected to have increased by at least a factor of five: Angola, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Mali, Niger, Somalia, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania and Zambia.

PoliticsKachikwu: Subsidy Removal Will Not Affect Pump Price by Freegift75(op): 4:05am On Dec 19, 2015
https://www.thecable.ng/subsidy-removal-may-not-affect-petrol-pump-price

Ibe Kachikwu, the minister for state of petroleum resources, says the removal of oil subsidy may not affect the pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS).

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, Kachikwu said “there is so much emotion around subsidy issues” and the government would not technically be removing subsidy but focus on spending very little on it.

“My focus is that, the federal government shouldn’t spend as much as it is spending on subsidy,” he said. He said the issue of subsidy existence or removal, is no longer business as usual, as the NNPC is now taking an intellectual means of tackling the matter, without affecting the poor.

“You all know that the president has stated it, that in all we do, we must make sure that the poor people are not affected. “It has become intellectual, it’s no longer about
taking a number, yank it off, take off subsidy and we go. What we are doing is reviewing the PPPRA template, how can we reduce some of the cost elements? How do we deal with foreign exchange so there’s some stability in terms of the exchange rate?

“If we could close the amount of product that are smuggled out of the country, the effective consumption of the country cannot be more than 35 or 36 million (litres per day).

“If we take this analysis, we can deliver products today with the price of oil where it is and also sell close to the prices we have today without the need of the federal government to pay subsidy.

“It is not that we have removed subsidy but the application of market forces will enable you to sell products as close to the prices we have today.

“Is it going to be between N87 and N90? we will have to get PPPRA to do those templates and at 35 million (litres) we may sell products at N87; by the time we consume 36, we may be selling at N90 or N91”.

He said a band would be adopted to ensure crude sells within N87 and N97, depending on the price of crude oil and the modulation of PPPRA.

“Today the prices are largely close to N87; there might be no need to change the price by January, and it might go up or come down slightly by April.

“It is all the dynamics of what the crude is; so, I have not put a static figure, myself and PPPRA will sit down and do the calculations and be able to announce what price PMS will sell in January.

He said that the refineries would not be relied on until the state of their maintenance was completed, adding that Federal Government had agreed that it would not sell them at their present state.

COMPANIES THAT WILL TRADE NIGERIA’S OIL IN 2016

The NNPC also issued its 2016 crude oil term contracts to 21 companies, who would be expected to be the only traders of Nigerian crude.

According to Reuters, the contracts cover 991,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil, worth $13.5 billion at current crude oil prices, which is roughly half of Nigeria’s crude oil production.

The refiners on the list are Spain’s Cepsa, Italy’s Saras, India’s IOC and ENOC of the Emirates, while trading houses are Trafigura, Mercuria and Vitol.

The international oil companies are ENI, Total, Exxon and Shell.

now concerning the fuel issue I don't think it is about money.these guys just roped PMB into a corner just like they did with GEJ.
let me ask you a question do you think if The administration made it a free entry and economy to buy crude from govt, refine and sell .the east block will not flood the market with quality refined petroleum products!
The bone of contention is, are there no economic analysts who could be of a great influence to this administration by publishing ideas on social media platforms and newsprint

We have seen the SANs, they never relent in airing their voices concerning Judiciary matters. What are the economists doing?

When the government fails, then they will come out to criticise.

It is shameful!

Arise O'Compatriot,
NIGERIAN ECONOMISTS SHOULD RISE,
The Time Is Now!

When Heaven falls, no one to escape. When Nigeria Economy collapse, both Rich and the Poor will lament. It is unfortunate that some proven Nigerian economists who are international economic analysts have chosen to remain indifferent to the degenerating status of our economy.

They only criticise government but never proffer concrete analysis to facilitate our journey out of economic hardship in Nigeria.

I strongly believe that if the present administration, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari can redenominate Nigeria’s currency, thereby making N200 the highest denomination, then life will be more beautiful for the people.

I could remember that former Central Bank of Nigeria
(CBN) governor, Professor Charles Soludo, tried to
redenominate our currency, but it didn’t work due to the Cabalism we practise in Nigeria.

Today, it has been done in Ghana, and their economy is
doing fine. It will also make more sense if government can fix the prices of house rents, transportation, while also giving more attention to agriculture. When this happens, the prices of goods and services, as well as food stuffs, will be affordable for everybody.

There is also the need for government to focus more on
employment generation, so that the youth can have
something doing.

We talk of refinery! This is shameful to the giant of Africa. In Nigeria, companies (like 5-5) could team up to build a refinery. But instead, they so selfish.

By 2016, the atmosphere is not clear to see any betterment as sign of hope. Hardship continues! Few days to 2016, fuel is sold for N150.

If CHANGE could be a reality in GHANA, Our President, you are the last HOPE. If the hardship continues till 2019, Nigeria will Split. It's a curse!

FG Assures Payment Of Salaries Before Christmas, To Upgrade Financial Management System – AG Agency Report

— Dec 17, 2015 11:15 am | Leave a comment

The office of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) says it is upgrading the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS) to ensure payment of December salary before Christmas.

The Director of Funds in the office, Mr Mohammed Dikwa, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria
(NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja on the sideline of a one-day workshop on the Treasury Single Account and e-payment/
collection.

Dikwa said that the system would be shut down over the weekend for the upgrade.

“The essence of the shut down is for maintenance. Some people complained that they couldn’t have access over the last few weeks because of the queue management challenge.

“We want to upgrade the infrastructure that we have over the weekend so that by Monday next week all payments will go on smoothly.

“If you look at the trend, people find it difficult to have access easily because the infrastructure was not strong enough to effectively handle the queue management.

“But with the new improvement, the system will be easily accessed, there will be seamless transactions, and people will get their money before Christmas particularly salaries and other financial commitments of government.

“I want to assure all Federal civil servants that, God willing, they will get their salaries before Christmas because we will try as much as possible to pay the salaries before
that time.
