Politics / Re: Osinbajo Committee Is Unconstitutional And Should Be Disbanded by freeR1: 5:42pm On Apr 24, 2017 |
The President has the right to setup a committee to investigate anything including corruption with the mandate of implementing a recommendation which includes termination of an employee. The president cannot based on recommendations of a committee bring up charges against individuals. However, the president can submit reports indicting any individual to the appropriate prosecutorial agencies. These agencies can then determine if prosecution is in order. The Vice President is not working to bring charges but to determine if a breach of contract happened which should result in termination of appointment. This is very well within the jurisdiction of any employer including the president. 2 Likes 1 Share |

bamjay: Unilag will give you your dip transcript. The regulations for regular transcript doesn't follow here. You have to keep pestering them, that's the only way. As for wes, you need to find out about wes evaluation at www.wes.org . Explaining that will be too long. |
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by freeR1: 2:35pm On Oct 26, 2015 |
bamjay: Getting your diploma transcript shouldn't be a big deal. Go to the diploma office, it is located between the fuel station at new hall and FSS. Request for a fast track transcript, you may have to get a letter from a faculty member to influence that. When it is ready, inform them to send it to records office so that it can be sent with your regular transcript. You will have to tell records office to wait for your dip transcript. This process can be frustrating so get as many dip transcript you can get so they have extra copies saved in your file. Your best bet will be to have a Wes evaluation. WES will combine your dip and regular transcript and you won't have to worry about unilag again. 2 Likes |

kennyrony: I am not sure, you will have to apply to see if medical exam will be requested. The requirement for medics is "if you have stayed in a designated country like Nigeria in the last 6 months i guess. However if requested, it is not a big deal, you will have to go to a uscis accredited doctor, I guess. It will cost you about $300 or more depending of the tests you doing. |
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by freeR1: 2:55am On Oct 26, 2015 |
kennyrony: You don't need medical if you have been in US for 1 year. Apply online, submit a scan copy of your F1 visa, I20 and transcript. You will get a biometric email in 24hrs or less. Take that to any USCIS office close to you, make sure you go with your passport. Then wait for your passport request letter. You should get that in 1 week, 2 weeks max. Send your passport using usps to the new York or California vac. Make sure you include a paid usps return envelope and $32 or so vac fee. Use money order for the fee, they won't accept personal checks. You can get MO at any Walmart. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

fatanu: Increased information sharing will support better decision-making by both countries to confirm applicants’ identities, and identify risks and inadmissible persons at the earliest opportunity. It will increase safety and security, as both countries work to identify terrorists, violent criminals, and others who pose a risk before they reach our borders. All officers working on immigration and refugee protection will be equipped with more information to make decisions. This will better protect the safety and security of Americans and Canadians alike and further facilitate legitimate travel. Primary reason for sharing information is stated clearly above. As long as you are not on any watch list, you are fine. Be truthful in your new CA application and don't worry about USA. Boys wey don file for GC for USCIS wey gock they apply for visa for CA and get it clean. I am giving you first hand info. |

ayooluwatoni: Nope, I disagree. US and CA consulate are different entities and they will not share information. Now, they both have a universal terror/ watch list which I hope you are not on. If in future they are suspicious of something and they want to investigate, either country will have to use a warrant to get the needed info. People should please be careful about the info they pass on this medium. Information privacy is a very important part of western world. |

Politics / A Review Of Pdp's Presidential Campaign Strategy by freeR1: 11:05am On Feb 28, 2015 |
Every year preceding a leap year, the citizens of Nigeria are tasked with the job of choosing their leaders for the next four years. The year 2015 is one of such year and from all indication, majority of Nigerians are eager to perform the duty of electing their leaders. As part of the election process, Nigerians are feed with a lot of information which should help them make informed choices. The 2015 political campaigns have been an interesting one. I will make a quick review of PDP campaign strategy from the angle of its Directorate of Media, Presidential Council. What is the role of the media wing of a Campaign? In my opinion, the primary role should be to sell the candidate's product and also align the product whit what is needed by the general public. The GEJ/Sambo campaign organization's media wing has not been be able to accomplish this task. Instead, it has been transformed to a Buhari/Osinbajo hate campaign group. I think this is a huge disservice to Mr. President. The product the media wing seems to be marketing is fear, bitterness and hate. Sincerely, I don't think Nigerians will vote or not vote based on such things. This strategy I dear say is ill-informed and to be kind; silly. This became much more evident on Thursday with Buhari's visit to Chatham house and The President's visit to Mubi, Baga and other warn torn towns. In my opinion, the focus of the Media Directorate should have been marketing and packaging the President's visit. The visit should have been sold as a show of leadership, control and love for every Nigerian territory, being presidential and commanding the armed forces and so on. To my greatest surprise, what we got from the Directorate was another bitter statement and accusations of what Buhari did not say; seriously!? The President's visit was not even the headline on the front pages of Nigeria's major newspaper, rather at best it was a rider while Buhari and Chatham house occupied the headlines. The reverse should be the case. Virtually all tv stations debated on Buhari's speech at Chatham house while Mr. President's visit only came as comments. This is terrible PR at its best. Further to this, instead of getting back to work, the Directorate issued a conspiracy theory on how Tinubu wants to be President from the back door and loads of "crap" like that. This is really unfortunate as the Directorate have again failed in helping the President score points. Considering the fact that by PDP's own words, Tinubu has a terminal illness, he is really sick and probably die soon. What should we believe? Have you heard about consistency in PR? Fear cannot determine Nigeria's future. Hope is what Nigerians yearn for. Hope is the only thing that keeps us sane is this country. We hope to have electricity when we get home, we hope their won't be terrible traffic and so on. A candidate that can give Nigerians hope is for sure who they will follow. It is the job of the media wing of the campaign to market its candidate as the giver of hope. This is surprisingly a task PDP has failed to do. Please get your focus right. There are a lot of groups and individuals who are affiliated with Mr President that can play the fear card if you strongly feel this will help your candidate. 2 Likes |

Following Prof's assertion, we will never ever know BH sponsors. This is another shocking gibberish from a respected Prof. Ask the Americans how they get their intelligence and information and you will understand how much you can get from a simple interrogation. Permit me to now apply same logic for Sheriff. His state is in ruins because of BH BH has named him their enemy No. 1 He has lost very close associates and family members to BH If Borno is destroyed, he stands to lose everything politically. Now I ask, can these my assertion absolve Sheriff too? Capital No. That applies to being Igbo and Christian that Prof is referring to. The biggest motivation for supporting BH is the Defense Budget. Those reaping directly from it should be investigated ie Ihejerika, Sheriff, Shettima and co. We must stop this tribal and religious nonsense if we are to move forward and get to the root of this crisis. When folks share money, they don't talk of tribe or religion. |
Politics / Re: SSS Probes Sheriff Over Alleged Boko Haram Sponsorship by freeR1: 6:41pm On Sep 05, 2014 |
Before any investigation is done/ started, Ihejerika has already been absolved of any crime. Is DSS trying to tell us that as long as you are a soldier or a ranking soldier for that matter, you cannot commit crime? This says a lot about the whole intelligence organization and DSS. Let me remind DSS that the likes of Ojukwu, Abacha etc were ranking soldiers and without doubt committed serious crimes against the Nigerian State. What we should demand is a full scale independent investigation and not this periodic publicity stunt by the DSS. 2 Likes |

Didn't this same clown regard Alimdu Sheriff as a responsible (or similar adjective) leader couple of weeks ago when he wrote an essay about APC convention. I recall that he was venting for Ikimi, Alimodu Sheriff and others. This man should also note that Sheriff is on the verge of declaring for PDP, I wonder if he will stick to his comments. FFK has always and will always be an irresponsible commentator. His rants against Igbo people confirmed this. Is he now best friends with the Igbo and Ijaw community? 1 Like |

Career / Re: How Does One Become An Investment Banker ? by freeR1: 11:36pm On Dec 02, 2013 |
Investment banking is really huge and a large part of investment banking is not done in Nigeria. The core to investment banking is company valuation and risk management. Basically, you do merger and acquisition, private buy-out, venture capital, underwriting etc. My advice to you is to try the CIS (Chartered institute of stockbrokers Nigeria) exam. It will give you an overview of what investment banking is. Let me warn you; 80% of what you will be taught does not happen in Nigeria at the moment. The bright side to this is that there is a huge opportunity for you to start something that will change the financial sector. 16 Likes 2 Shares |
