Ballerz:. I don't think Accra VO is absolute for Nigerians. I have seen some Nigerians that got London VO and a few others that got Ottawa. I agree though that a far greater proportion are processed in Accra. |
yettyopy:I didn't save the link tho but I bumped on some threads on Canada visa forum where CEC applicants complained about the slower pace of their applications. |
I think the fact that only one draw was done in June helped speed up the current processing of eAPRs. June AORs are especially lucky as they seem to be benefiting most due to d speed at which their files have moved. If this momentum is improved or sustained I see most June AORs getting PPR in 8weeks or less. Another theory I have to explain dis new trend could be that maybe there is an executive order to give more priority to FSW-outland applications over other streams. CEC stream used to have the fastest processing time but now it takes at least 2 months for them to even pass medicals. A lot of CEC applicants are seriously complaining to CIC because they are used to faster processing times but the response from CIC to them is not to expect medicals passed in less than 2 months. On the other hand I got medicals passed in just 23 days post AOR and several other FSW-OUTLAND applicants as well. Probably the govt needs the influx of fresh economic migrants over those already inland. Imagine the amount of money we are going to carry to Canada as POF and what it will do to their economy. Then in the long run comes the real value which is our skills and how we will impart positively on the nation's production of goods and services. Everybody wins in the end. These are really interesting times. May God bless our Canada dreams. |
It's so good seeing seniors above us get PPR. CIC should please keep it coming so we know it's getting close to our turn. Congratulations to all that received PPR today |
Aka2003:No wahala. Let's pray it goes well this time around. Cheers mate |
Faky201:There is a separate form for females....seek it out |
Aka2003:I think you need to pause a bit and fully understand what went wrong with your previous application to avoid making the same mistake. You cannot do the same thing twice and we expect a different outcome. The million dollar question you should ask yourself now is what do I need to do differently this time? Maybe if u can shed more light on your previous application here the more experienced folks will be able to spot d problem and help out. If u think u can c'est la vie Ur way out of this one u may end up where u started from. My 2 cents bro |
Baisy:Sure you can. They won't penalise u for that |
Java47:I didn't get any email notification. I just kept with the trend and was checking my account for activity. Thanks |
Good people....as suggested by y'all I just decided to check my account and lo we have passed medicals and got assigned UCI. We are currently on IP1. God will surely perfect this journey for all of us. ITA: 12th April AOR: 19th June MP: 12th July BGC IP1: 12th July BGC NA: 13th July BGC IP2: ?? PPR: ?? |
Baisy:I also have a family of four and I paid $2380 CAD. I paid for both application and RPR fees |
Yooku:The payment should reflect almost immediately and you will get a transaction receipt. I think your payment didn't go through so you have to try again. |
mmanwanyi:You can't apply as a single applicant because that will be seen as misrepresentation which may land u a 5year ban. However, you may apply as a married but you will declare Ur husband as an unaccompanying spouse. That way u won't have to do ECA for him or will he be required to do IELTS. I still suggest you make him see reason to opt to take d immigration seriously. He has nothing to lose really. Let him see it as a plan B option for the family. I'm sure if he keys into the aim he will be motivated and will perform well I'm his IELTS. As an accompanying spouse he only needs to score 7777 in LRSW to give u the max pts and that shouldn't be too difficult. Do your research about Canada very well and sell the idea to him. Someone posted something about education earlier, there is also their healthcare system. Then also is the economic opportunities. All these r things u can use to make a strong case. It's not easy for young families to live separately so I don't know how you guys r gonna cope If you split the family. |
mmanwanyi:I will advise you include him in your application but u should be the PA. When u guys land after COPR he may come back and continue with his job while u and d kids if any remain in Canada. You cannot compare d value and standard of education your family will have access to as Canadian PRs with staying in this country. As for your husband you need to advise him well. Nigeria I know is a very unstable and uncertain place. Many people have fallen from grace to grass doing the same job or type of business in this country simply because there is no consistency. All it takes is for one silly govt policy and everything u have worked so hard for comes crashing down before your very eyes. Imagine dat between 2015 to now just because of change in forex policy many jobs were lost. That's naija for u. Let your husband keep his job but be on the look out for other opportunities in Canada. He can always apply for them from Nigeria using his Canada address and when he lands a good job he resigns from the naija jobs and the whole family can be reunited again. It's up to you to sell this idea to your hubby because right now he is in his comfort zone and will be very resistant to leaving it. I wish you guys success in your Canadian endeavours |
ymummy234:Of course from the way u r following the thread I'm sure you r not just following Ur lawyer like zombie. U actually are well informed about the whole process and that way u have a better control over your application than some people who actually leave themselves at d mercy of their agents. No mind me oo...just dat we dat r solely DIY get jealous when we see nDIY people like u flying through like wind in dis process. |
ymummy234:So you are actually not doing it yourself.....u r a big girl ooo ![]() |
ugoiyke79e:Thank you for this response @ugoiyke....it's just like I expected. I'd be keeping an eye on my email then tho I dnt expect to get any ADR. Thanks nwanne |
ymummy234:Congrats to note some activity on your file. Please I would like to know through which medium you received notification for your ADR and what documents specifically where requested? I've seen cases where some applications were rejected because the applicant didn't receive the notification of ADR and the deadline elapses. I'm also a June AOR (19th) |
Blingyrie:Congrats....that's quite fast. I tap into your speed bro |
Fusion23:Thanks bro. I really appreciate your advice. (Considering my current outland status)When will u suggest is the best time to start submitting job application to prospective employers in my chosen industry? And how do I go about the job application? |
Good day house. I am currently post AOR in the Canada immigration journey. I wish to also hear from you seniors who are already inland. I am a graduate biochemist with over five years experience as a brewer. I have a diploma in brewing certificate from the Institute of Brewing and distilling, a professional body based in UK, though I did the certification in Nigeria. What are the job prospects in the brewing industry and do I have to acquire any local certification to be able to land a good brewing job. I know Canada has a lot of craft breweries asides d mega breweries but how frequently do they hire and how good is their pay. I am also considering jobs as a biochemist with Research institutes and labs as I have a strong CGPA from my BSc. How easy will it be to secure such job positions since my education is outside of Canada I'm also coming with a family (a spouse and two kids). I'm like 80% bent on landing in Edmonton,Alta cos I have a friend there we can put up with for like a month tops until we r able to secure a decent accommodation of our own. I'm more concerned about securing a job because it will largely determine where we will eventually settle down. Like many of you have opined your kids adapted and settled in even easier than you expected. I'd like to know what you guys think about my situation so as to know where I need to focus on when I land. My first priority in Canada is landing a good job.i believe I can do it I want to learn from your success stories. I wait and appreciate your responses Cc: fusion23, blackbuddy, salford |
lavivaavril:That was quite fast...less than 60days. Congratulations u are almost there |
Finally I have submitted my eAPR after 66 days post ITA. AOR 19th June. Now to commit the rest unto God's hands. May all our Canada dreams come true. |

manlikegb:A simple Google search will help clarify most of your confusion. The basic differences between course based and research based masters as their names implies is that while d former is focused on course work the latter focuses more on academic research. Also research based masters has more funding compared to course based programs. The research based masters r more competitive because of the limited funding available so they usually pick out the candidates with the best profiles for admission. With your 2-2 u can confidently get a course based masters if you apply early and write a compelling SOP but be ready to bear the financial brunt of your studies in Canada. The VOs won't be merciful to deny your TRV application if your funds r deemed insufficient. Hope I have answered Ur query. Have a nice day |
keduduka1234:I seem to be having trouble replying my yahoo mails. I have seen your PM already. I will get back to you via Gmail later |
manlikegb:Finishing with a second class lower shouldn't outrightly condemn u to opt for colleges. Do your research very well on university masters and submit a good application you may get lucky. I'd advise you put in for course based masters though to avoid the competition for funding peculiar with y most research based applicants get rejections. Wish you all d best in your academic endeavours super eminent. |
percee17:Where the problem lie is that the account won't be bearing your name. Before we resort to LOE let's also know we are in d end at d mercy of the VO. They r human and once they start having doubts they tend to take a safer option of delaying or in worst cases denying your application. They have an impeccable record system that is thoroughly audited so no VO wants to make a grave mistake cos they know they will be fished out and may lose their jobs. If we understand d psychology behind what drives d actions of these VOs den we will package our applications more carefully. There are no shortcuts. Avoid misrepresentation, follow their recommended guidelines, include all relevant supporting documents and where you have to use LOE clear out every doubt by attaching a valid documentation. This way we make their jobs easier and in d long run maybe we would enjoy faster processing times. |
percee17:Una get money ooo....and people dey here they reason how to arrange gift deed wey fit cast ![]() You guys are good with the joint account as long as you are legally married and will prove that in your application. Congrats Modified Err on second look (didn't initially realise d joint account was a business account)I think you should take Boss' advise on the POF issue and ignore mine above. Cheers |
Boss13:I mean in totality. Canada work experience can only suffice if you can prove it with the reference letter. It doesn't matter if u have worked for x number of companies as long as u can get each of them to give u d letter and the job description matches d NOC u r picking. In essence you can combine several work experiences just ensure they r all under d NOC class required for EE. Hardship claim is just another name given to the 25% withdrawal permissible by the Nigerian pension act. I'm not too sure on who should hold POF between u and Ur spouse but for sake of being cautious I'd advise that you guys xfer the funds to the PAs acct and attach a LOE for any lodgements from the spouse. In this case there is no need for a gift deed. |
Boss13:1. What matters is the start date on the reference letter given to you by your employer for the work experience you are claiming points for. That is what CIC will use to calculate your eligibility when the time comes. Harmonise your eAPR questionnaire to reflect this if the difference still meets the 3 years work experience which gives you maximum points but if less and your point drops make sure it doesn't drop below the minimum CRS of the draw u got ITA from. If it does you may need to decline that ITA. 3. It's okay to use pension funds provided you have already liquidated them. Things like 25% hardship claim becomes liquid cash once u process it and r paid. I am also using my 25% pension hardship claim to augment my POF because I have an additional family member post ITA. What I plan to do is to add a LOE with attached bank statement for the period my RSA made the transfer to my POF account, as evidence of the transaction. |
