Thanks a lot.

Does anyone have a draft of the bank letter in CiC format? I intend to request for one from First Bank tomorrow and think it will be a good idea to go with a draft as guide.
You will need to write an application to your bank for the letter of reference. Just follow the std formal letter format copying all the requirements for POF doc from CIC page and present it in the body of your letter to your bank. That's just what I did and it worked.

Aww you're such a caring fiancee oh. Just a suggestion though, can't he register on here and get answers for himself since it's his application? And he'll be getting 1st hand info, rather than passing in message that might get lost in transit.
Another thing, since his plan is to submit November 1st, don't you think yall can do registry or something to avoid adding you as spouse in future and delay his application...as suggested by freeradical a few pages back. I mean you guys already want to get married, just have a registry and be included in his application as a dependent, then yall can have the big weddig later on. Avoid unnecessary long story on his application.
Thanks @Canadianfly for buttressing my point. If they know they want to spend their lives together let them go ahead and do a registry wedding and enter the pool together before ITA. Saves them all the stress later on.

On PCC, will it be required from principal sponsor and dependant (wife) ?
@bbaby84 has answered your question. Both PA and dependents need PCC

Nice post @freeradical

Just one or two things please, DO NOT PUT WHAT YOU ARE NOT ASKED. If you don't have anything to explain then please you DO NOT need to write an LOE.

Also, DO NOT put unnecessary PC, or any unnecessary information you were not asked because it could even cause unnecessary delays.

"Oyinbos" are very straightforward while we Nigerians tend to like to do oversabi.

Be detailed and concise.

Lastly, be like @freeradical, don't be like Wura27. grin

All the best to you all!
@ Bolded: You are so right Wura27. We must endeavour to keep our application simple. No need to write LOE for what isn't asked for. LOEs are only to explain weak aspects of your application. Example of where one needs a LOE may include; name issues, source of lodgements to your POF, discrepancies amongst your documents (like case of different occupation in marriage cert and other docs) etc

Very helpful, thank you. So are you saying if i have travelled to the UK for 2 weeks at different times, over a period of 10 years, then I need a police certificate from the UK?
Technically you don't need a PCC for that. But anything above 4 months I'm afraid it's best to just get one.

Of course if you can't meet up you will have to submit and raise the CSE. Nothing spoil since such is beyond Ur control

I am wondering how immigration managed to take a new born picture, was his/ her eyes closed, and how was d medicals for new born conducted.
Funny enough the immigration agents were very happy to attend to us because of the baby's age. We jumped a very long queue to do his capture. The agents that snapped him were quite experienced at capturing infants and they were women so they handled him very well.

Please i need clarifications here. I was born in UK, my parents returned to Nigeria after my 1st birthday. I have travelled to UK twice (within the last 4 years) on vacation spending 2 weeks at each visit. Do i need a PCC? I was thinking the PCC is needed for cummulative periods after 18years of age. cc: mummyjaygirls, boldinc, 40manlappy, feygbe
Technically you don't need a PCC unless you have spent cumulative of 6months in UK irrespective of how many times you visited after Ur 18th bday.

Thanks for taking your time to give us such detailed advice. I am taking it to heart.

I'm filling my form already and I didn't assess my first degree. Should I include it in the place provided for personal history or for study history, being that I don't have an ECA for it?

Thanks again!
Only provide the degree for your highest qualification which you evaluate. The rest I believe will appear in your personal history because you can't lie to CIC and you have to give every detail of your adult life from when you are 18. It should also appear in your study history but you will select that you did not evaluate the degree. This shouldn't be a problem

What a glorious CRS cut off score. I spent close to 6months on 433 with my first EE profile searching for ITA but it wouldn't come grin

Congratulations to all our new ITA holders, yimiton, dammiehar, XX01, et al. I know you guys expect to get speedy processing of your eAPR to PPR and so I've decided to help you with a few advice from my own experience. My timeline from AOR to PPR is just 46days which is quite impressive and something I'd wish for you guys to replicate. Now my advice to you goes as follows. Brace up its gonna be a long read

1. Getting ITA is a big deal but it's not so much of a big deal if u don't package your application well and it gets rejected. So use only 24 hours to celebrate dis ITA after which you have to settle down, snap out of the euphoria(you are not in Canada yet grin) and focus on submitting your eAPR without making any costly error that may mar your chances.

2. Even though we know that ultimately d divine controls the speed of every application yet you must do your utmost best in packaging your application carefully. As much as you can, get the documents in d format specified by CIC. Start now to disturb your bankers for the reference letters and your employers for the work reference letter. From my experience, you save d VO time and make their work easier when you submit documents in the recommended CIC format and they reward that with a fast processing.

3. PCCs are very vital and you should know by now what PCCs you need to provide. To be on the safe side any country you have spent a cumulative period of 3-4 months from when you were born till now just start now to process your PCC from them. VOs r very unforgiving with PCCs and sometimes they interprete the laws around PCCs in ways we can't truly understand. If you are like me that have never enter international flight before (I.e no travel history) then u are safe but for all the ajalas in the house, the chicken has come home to roost grin

4. Do not be in a hurry to get AOR, thereby rushing to submit. Take your time to ensure that you include every document in your checklist and in the right file format. Always cross check that your uploads are still intact even at the point of submission. It's not really by AOR but by how fast you move from AOR to PPR. Some July AOR peeps are already with PPR while we still got some April AORs languishing in IP1. So don't let the race to get AOR get to you.

5. Avoid ADRs. If it means waiting till the final week of your 90precious days it's safer to wait it out and submit your application with that document you know will be requested. ADRs have a way of unnecessarily delaying the movement of your file. The best time to send CIC documents is before AOR so be proactive enough to prevent anything that will make then ask after. For example if you know you have been refused visa to some country, nothing stops u from filling a schedule A form proactively even before it is asked.

6. Use your LOE very well. The LOE is a powerful weapon that you must use very well to your favour. If you do an unbiased self assessment of your application, you will note the areas where your application appears to be weak. It's almost likely that the VO will come to this same conclusion as you. That's where a good LOE does wonders. You can use your LOE to politely explain and provide further detail to the VO. What u r actually doing is subtly allaying his doubts about this weak part of your application. This helps the guy to make a favorable decision on your case. The trick to writing a good LOE is being honest, polite and MOST IMPORTANTLY attaching a document to buttress your point or as evidence. Also you can write as many LOEs and attached documents to each even though there is one placeholder for LOE. That's where your PDF merger comes in. Merge all the LOEs into one single file and attach.

7. Raising CSEs is a bad, bad thing!Avoid anything that will also make you to start disturbing your application midway after AOR by having to raise a CSE. Examples are getting married, adding a baby etc. Though most times these stuffs are beyond our control but as much as you can try to avoid entering such situations because it will delay your application. If you know you want to marry that man/woman then make the decision and get married already even before you secure ITA. I've seen some people's application getting delayed because they have to include spouse. If you r expecting a baby and your due date is before the 90days post ITA period, its best you wait for the child and include him before AOR. This exactly was my case. I had ITA Apr 12th and my wife's EDD was May 12th. I decided to wait for the baby. I made every arrangements for his passport with the immigration agent( the guy thought I was crazy trying to do passport for a child yet unborn grin), but alas baby came early on May 5th. My son got his passport May 12th or so and we got AOR June 19th.
So my point is as much as we can control these events let's try our best.

8. Finally just keep praying as though everything depends on your prayers but not your work and try not to be overly anxious. Who anxiety EPP sef.

I wish you guys a smooth PPR journey from here on.

I just have marriage certificate and newspaper publication. I believe I will be fine, because swearing affidavit now after many years of marriage/change of name may just appear somehow.
Yes you are fine with just your marriage cert and newspaper publication. Also ensure you upload your degree certificate alongside the ECA or your application is rejected as incomplete.

hi
I am a silent reader and my first tym posting on this thread. I wud like ur advice on this matter bothering me.
My hubby is actually d principal applicant and a Dependant of 4 for now cos we r expecting a baby by ending of d month which wud make it 5. Although he notified CIC b4 submitting his applications.My fear now is ;

1) We r expecting PPR any moment from now cos his AOR was in June 16th and he's gotten 2 ADR request of which d latest was to pay RPRF fee which he paid on 28th of last month...Now if we get PPR b4 d baby is born cos I think we have 15 days to submit d passport and fill d IMM form, what r we to do @ dis juncture? Cos d baby hasn't arrived yet
2) If d baby arrives b4 we get d PPR request I doubt we wont be able to meet d tym frame of d 15 days submission cos like we all know d scarcity of passport @ immigration office which cause a lot of delays. I am confused? Kindly respond, tnks
I had to wait for my son to be born to include him in my eAPR before submitting. It's best to include him before PPR but now it's really out of your hands. If the baby comes before PPR you guys can still inform CIC to include him. I would suggest your husband sends a CSE asap to CIC to indicate his intention to include an additional member so they can decide if they will delay your application a bit until the baby arrives.

Newspaper publication alone doesnt suffice. You will need to attach an affidavit of change of name. Infact, you need that affidavit before your change of name can be published in some newspapers
I do not think this is entirely correct. For my spouse I just uploaded marriage certificate and newspaper publication as evidence for her change of name and now we have our PPR

Good day fam,
I have almost completed my transition from the express entry thread to this one thanks to the fact that I got PPR yesterday and have sent passports to Accra VO.

I have been thinking seriously about how best to move my funds to Canada successfully considering the fluctuating exchange rates? Do banks still issue PTA to PR visa holders? What's the maximum duration of bank statement I can print out and hold as POF for POE purpose?

managerial jobs (NOC Skill Level 0)
professional jobs (NOC Skill Type A)
technical jobs and skilled trades/manual work (NOC Skill Type B)

i mean applicants that doesn't have assessing body like NOC C (3414) please how do they get nomination as am a graduate pharmacologist am currently working as a pharmacist assistant, combined with the nysc i did last year were i also worked in the hospital pharmacy i wrote ielts sometime last year with broadband 5.5.
All documents are ready for that NOC skill somehow confused please enlighten me on were to start now as i have the available documents i have spent days reading all these.

meanwhile i got intrested in British columbia and other other 2 province in need of medical workers
I do not think NOC C is eligible for express entry under FSW. Have you checked out NOC 3219 which looks to me like it suits your work experience. Remember that the VO will match the duties of your work experience letter you submit with that of the NOC you will eventually choose. So arm yourself with this information when you are about getting your work reference letter.

Wish you all d best in your PR journey.

Meanwhile I want to thank you all for your kind wishes. Every single person that has made an input to this great thread by virtue of intelligent question or answer has helped me one way or d other. I had spent $1200 on useless immigration agents before I discovered this thread and I bless d day I found it cos I'd have spent much more money which I don't really have.

To those still searching for the elusive PPR I just want to encourage u to never give up. Make use of the enormous resource available on this thread and believe in yourself. Nothing good comes easy. I can say I've read all 733 pages of this thread and I dnt regret doing so. I did virtually everything without asking questions already answered.

To those waiting on IP2 rest your minds your PPR is on the way. It's only a matter of time. God will go before all of us and make a way for us in Canada. You all will get your PPRs at His appointed time which is better than yours.
