I have pity for Paul Biya's country for cracking down on Christians and Churches. Here is the outlook: He should look forward to Boko Haram rogues take over his country and unleasing terror on them as a punishment for this illegal action. Thereafter, the Boko Haram activities will be stopped by use of force and Christianity and the Churches will be finally established and the influence of Catholics and other pseudo religious centres that support this illegal action will be decimated. I have never seen anyone that oppose the move of God and stand, not even Pharaoh. Paul Biya: Your end and regime has now come as you will end up worse than Saddam Hussein and Ghaddafi! |
I can't imagine people in group like this having easy access to an International Airport. Moreso that they come with stones and other dangerous weapons. The culture of group of people having easy access to an airport in Nigeria is rife, especially in Omagwa Intl Airport, Port Harcourt. I have no qualm with group of people seeking justice but where the safety of other local and international travellers are being threatened is a cause for concern. This is more so where the law enforcement agents are standing by, helpless. Imagine seeing crowds of women and others on the tarmac in an interantional airport welcoming some politicians and sharing money thereon! This is absurd. As it stand, group gathering at the airports for the purposes of welcoming some so called big men or protesting a cause should be banned forthwith in all our airports and Omagwa Intl Aiport in particular. The peace in Rivers must be sustained. |
Every good soldier must endure hardship initially. Being on the road will surely make them think better. lol On a serious note a colleague of mine was literaly thrown into an Italian village sometime past where no one speak English prior to his being made a Manager. Today he is a big shot in the same company and has excellent command of the language and the management culture of the company. Consequent to the trip they made by bus, the chaff shall be separated from the wheat and the bank will be better for it. By this singular step, I may consider banking with them. Naturally a bank should be managed conservatively! Some of those on the trip will emerge top guys tomorrow. Mark my word. |
A Greek gift indeed. Senator Adeyemi is not accessible to his people and refuses to help the youths from the Constituency that are working in other states who are being greatly marginalized. Attempts at meeting him when he came to Port Harcourt by this writer as a Youth Rep was futile as he flatly refused to answer his phone or reply to messages sent to him. Let him be reminded that there are youths from his constituent that are being marginalized as casual workers in the oil and gas industry because we are seen as not being an “indigene”. Meanwhile our constituency is noted for not discriminating against anyone no matter who you are or where you come from. But we have perceived with interest the antics of the militants in the Niger delta and how those boys, through agitation, have become big boys today with unlimited opportunities. Please use your position to thwart the youths from becoming militants because of neglect. Our own may be so sophisticated because we are educated. Leave lines of communication open even though we are proud of some of the things you are doing at the national level. Also the Senator should note the deplorable roads between Lokoja-Kabba-Ayetoro Gbede-Iyara-Mopa cities and get the Federal cum State governments to intervene. Many are not encouraged to come home in view of the challenges associated with these deplorable roads and the poor electricity supply. Use your position for posterity! A Greek gift indeed. Good news from the North and Maiduguri in particular. Thanks Aminho for your feedback. Am happy normalty is returning to your home town We cannot allow the activity of a few misguided ones to derail this entity called Nigeria. Thank God for our Armed Forces esp the soldiers and the sacrifices they are making. I believe there's a great future for this country. My country and your country! |
FRSC vehicle has no hazard warning triangular light! Instead leaf was used. Enforcing the law and asking others to comply while you are not keeping the law. Hypocrisy of the highest order. ![]() |
I hardly respond to political comments but I can't shy away from this. I had an interview clip where Rt. Hon. Amaechi remarked that " Odili made me." This was a man who was then the Speaker of the state Assembly as at the time he granted that interview. I am still keeping the copy and I proudly tell people where this man come from: He is a man of outstanding charater, humility and loyalty. He knows what he is saying and is the real truth. He was loyal to Odili till the end and his then Master, Odili, betrayed him. I felt for him because I knew how loyal and dedicated he was to Odili. Yet he forgave Odili at the end. The only vote I've casted in my life was for Hon. Amaechi and I have no regret whatsoever. And I am not from Rivers State. Even though I left my house for a rented apartment now because of bad road in the my area, Rt. Hon Amaechi is the best thing that has happened to the State in recent time. What you sow is what you reap. That he is being betrayed by his own people is the persecution that comes with being blessed by God.The truth will always prevail. Keep going forward my Governor! I teach my daughter the virtue of loyalty and truthfulness |
A great write up no doubt. When the elders begin to accommodate the youths the country will be better for it. Amaechi's youthful energy has transformed Rivers State for good but there are people, like Wike, who want the status quo maintained. Let not our good President continue to see Amaechi in bad light, because he mean well for the state. 'torhuke's comment above is misplaced and lack depth. The writer has something to say and has written it beautifully and professionally. But your opinion is childish and irresponsible. |
In the light of the prevailing circumstances, the President Dr. Jonathan has done well, no doubt. I wish him well and he should please put in more effort, especially in the power sector and employment of youths. I will like our President to take it easy with Rt Hon R. Amaechi of Rivers State. In the short run Amaechi may be seriously persecuted but in the long run the fight for presidency may be PDD's waterloo. In other words, the political future of both the President & the Gov being persecuted, may be jeopardised. Meanwhile, the East-West Road accross Port Harcourt is in amost terrible state once gain. From Eleme town to Eleme-Aba Road junction, a distance of about 3 kilometres, could take about 4 hours to cross by motorists. There is therefore no room for intra party squabble. Let's all work with Mr. President to move this country forward! There are too many challenges that are begging attention. |
Generator use is a disease that has affected many including our Diplomats. This disease is being exported to their host countries where stable power supply obtains. It's another strategy to perpectuate corruption. Village mentality is now being institutionalised in the city and exported to the nations of the world! |
Some peoples sentimental outbursts here are disgusting enough. You underate OBJ at your own peril. How many of our leaders are consciously doing strategic thinking and writing like OBJ? Experiences are not bought in the market. We must learn to be objective in our opinions and not argue blindly against facts. The signs are there: 2015 will be exciting and not bloody! |
The lesson anyone from any nation that visits this site should learn is this : Never again! Isreal will never accept a situation that would encourage this act of genocide against them. Any nation or individual that promotes or sponsors anti-semitism is doomed. Let all religious and national groups take heed. An understanding of what happened at this site will enable people appreciate why Isreal will always take a pre-emptive strike against nations, group or persons that oppose them. Juxtaposing this with Biafra war will make anyone or group of religious folks also understand that Nigeria will never tolerate any divisive act against our great nation. Let's learn to live together and in peace. Even in my own personal live, it's "Never Again"! |
Happy Birthday to you, Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi, my school mate and a performing Governor. Truely you are transforming Rivers State and Port Harcourt, the Garden City, in particular. No one can fail to notice the massive roads being constructed and rehabilitated and the stable security under your administration. But try to relate with our Great President Jonathan with wisdom and respect as we all know you are not fighting him in particular as most are wont to believe but your disagreement is a matter of principles that our laws have not catered for. And as you know President Goodluck Jonathan is also part of us as an almnus of the University of Port harcourt. I was cruising on Rumuokwuta-NTA-Choba road the other day and can not but pray for you. May the Lord keep you and protect you and your family. I have always loved you because the Port Harcourt I used to know is being tranformed to a glorious city. Many don't like me for supporting you but I do not need the many to know you care for your people. They wont celebrate you now but the future generation will give you credit I have a request though: when will water be flowing in our taps freely in a city like Port Harcourt? I believe only your govt has the drive to provide this essential service! Let there be peace. |
Rt. Hon. R. Amaechi is trying in term of road construction and rehabilitation in the Garden City but some areas are still to be touched such as: Rivon Clinic-Genesis-Estate-Old Aba Road Ring Road. There are terrible potholes and drainage channels are in terrible shape. But let the people give the Governor peace of mind to re-dedicate himself to the service of the people. Gov. Amaechi you're please invited to run these areas of Rumuogba Estate on your power bike. God bless the people of Rivers State and our Governor!Rt. Hon. R. There's gross inconsistency, inefficiency, incompetenece and corruption associated with getting DL currently. The entire FRSC and other License issueing authorities should be overhauled beginning with the sacking of their top management. This is May ending and the one I renewed in Novemeber last year is still pending even after the expiration of the temporary one License I was issued. I can confirm that since the beginning of this year no one has recived a new DL in the city of Port Harcourt in particular and its environs. Yet there are FRSC officials on the roads and street corners checking particulars! Let the President and the National Assemblies take immediate steps at stopping these corrupt officers from perpectuating this national embarrassment: that we can't make simple things work. |
Thank you all for your individual contributions.Iru or locust bean and ogiri are clearly not for me because I have always hated those seasonings in food from my childhood. I don't even taste any food that contain these. I will stick to Ginger, Garlic and salt - a pinch of it. No Maggi, Royco, Vedan, Ajinomoto, etc All of you are great indeed: Nairaland |
I appreciate your contribution and perhaps you work there but their response to customers' concern is appaling. Imagine driving down to their various offices and they could not solve your problem: it is either the staff do not have the requisite authority to address the issue or they do not know what to do. Uptill now the challenge remains. Thanks all the same |
Did anyone really take time to note how DSTV as company have been defrauding her teeming customers by not keeping to the term of their advertised channels? I paid for Family Bouquet and tested that my favorite channels, especially e-tv was there: Am a fan of wrestlers. A day after I discovered that DSTV has completely removed not only e-tv but Day Star channels completely and for many months now have rendered TBN channel ineffective by making sure the pictures are clear but the voice is either muted or distorted. However, each Bouquet channels are conspicuously advertised in their promotional leaflets. Should they continue to fleece the customers without the NBC regulatory authority sanctioning them? |
This is good news from the management of NSE. Besides deterring others, it will restore confidence. Let NSE make known to the public the procedure to follow in reporting the excesses of these Brokers. Am coming back to NSE with this singular act even though I have suffered terrible losses and abuses from some Brokers! |
Nice piece from Biafralady. On a personal note, can you please shed light on what you use to season your food, that is when you are not eating fruitsw and vegetables? I have come to realize that Magii cubes, Knorr, etc contain MSG and as such are bad for our bodies. Thanks for your useful contribution. Am a man that like to keep fit! |
Numerous challenges face motorists these days as innocent vehicle owners are being harassed daily on our roads. Thanks to the improvement on our roads but apart from miscreants, Police officers’ are at it again with their IG’s order; the FRSC has refused to issue the main licenses even after the expiration of the temporary licenses were given, yet they are busy stopping motorists at every street corner; and our Legislators are not responding quickly enough to repeal the obnoxious and outdated laws that the various IGs have been using to intimate law abiding citizens in the guise of enforcing security. I like the current IG: slim and fit and intelligent but he shouldn’t antagonize those are helping him to surmount the current security challenge in the nation. It is akin to throwing away the baby with the bath water. Our Legislators should please pass the bill that reflects current reality! Below is an Excerpt from the Punch: “The order should be clarified so that police will target only opaque glass. A vehicle glass that is not tinted to the point of being opaque poses no security problem whatsoever. Only glass that is opaque, that prevents other road users or security personnel from seeing the occupants of the vehicle, presents a security challenge. Vehicle manufacturers worldwide now tint virtually all cars, while Nigeria has no indigenous vehicle manufacturing base to speak of. Tinting vehicle glass became standard after years of research. The option of obtaining the IG permit is no solution; it only adds another layer of paperwork and promotes corruption as evidenced by the activities of some corrupt policemen, who extort money from hapless motorists in the name of implementing the IG’s order.” Source: PUNCH EDITORIAL, APRIL 25, 2013 |
I know through reading research works. Thereafter I stopped eating cooked foods that are seasoned with MSG substance. I noticed significant improvement until I ate those seasoned foods again. The allergy re-surfaced! Once again I stopped eating seasoned foods with MSG. The allergy has since stopped with improved energy. Acidosis: thanks for your suggestion. However, salt is equally or more dangerous than MSG. I may stick with the latter among other natural things, though. Any good lady in the house who has discovered alternatives to this MSG staff should please comment. |
In view of the danger associated with using Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) as a food seasoning; coupled with the fact that most available seasoning agents such as Vedan, Maggi, Knorr, Doyin, etc. contain MSG. What alternative seasoning agents should I recommend to my lady? I noticed that I sneeze and whiz a lot after eating cooked food that have been seasoned with Maggi, etc. Consequently I have banned these seasonings in my kitchen but what better alternative do I have? Food nutritionists and health conscious individuals should please offer suggestion/solution. I hate eating outdoor because of this concern. Many thanks! |

Our military ranking may not be among the ten top largest in the world but our annual expendures may be among the top five highest in the world. unfortunately there would be no accurate data to back it up. But we need to modernise our military strength and strategy to contend with the present challenge and the future. This is obvious! |
GO Tv subscribers have been cut off air for almost a week today. Ironically there is no word from their management to their customers. What's more, all their contact telephone lines have been shut down. Does it mean we have no right as patrons of this company? And why has NCC or NBC not sanction the company? Sactions must be metted out to them just like MTN, etc. Anyone in the house willing to join hands to sue this insensitive company? Would they have done this in their South Africa base to their customers? I understand that DSTV owns this company to checkmate the Chinese influence. Nigeria and Nigerian must be respected by those doing business within her border even as we are paying for this service. Thank you Moderator |
I would like my book to be published abroad and in Nigeria simultaneously. Can anybody help or give me useful advise please? Am a lover and reader of books but the package they come in matters to me. |
A great man's semi biography. Worth reading! I pity those that complain that the story is so long. That the man has come this far is heart warming and I am glad he is patriotic enough. Some two weeks ago I listened to an interview about the richest man in INDIA on CNN: mind blowing! Mike Adenuga should please grant interview on CNN to encourage and inspire people like me. It is time to come out. I will appreciate if this great man could seek me out and Mentor me to bless this generation too. I love it that he loved his Mum like I loved my Mum. Keep riding high, the Bull! |
Besides the cost of company registration with the CAC, is the issue of too much bureaucracy, etc. Imagine if the Director travelled, all approvals are suspended until his return. In less than two hours in Dubai, and having satisfied the basic requirements, your company is duly registered and all relevant certificates issued in a very friendly business environment. No wonder the stupendous progress and prosperity we are seeing there. But in the CAC offices, everything including the people and environment are intimidating and discouraging. Government should bring in efficiency and effectiveness into the system! Businesses thrive in a friendly and conducive atmosphere. My one cent. |
This is comprehensive and useful. Well done. But does these codes apply to all models of cars? Are you based in PHC? Your price is ok and affordable! God bless |
This technology is good but I am concerned about the corrosive effect of water and air in my exhaust system. How do you address this concern? Also, are you adapting this technology for use in household generators/plants? Keep up the good work! |
Sultan: "Nissan can do something similar too" Pls expantiate on this. I have a Nissan Xtrail and I am wondering how turning the key thrice will give the daignosis. I appreciate your contribution |

Thank you all for your individual contributions.
