PoliticsRe: Should Nigeria Grant Morroco's Request To Join ECOWAS? by freshest4live:
MadCow1:
Morocco joining ECOWAS will change the power structure within the Union. Nigeria will now have a strong and viable opposition to its powers.

I don't think it's in our best interest to allow them in.
But if you notice, Nigeria does not like to exert her powers even right from the Gowon era, she is seen as a bully especially by Francophone countries, but it seems Nigeria has no time for that. Read the article l posted above from the Gambian writer who also made this clear.
What do you suggest we do about the gas pipeline deal, (one of the biggest projects in the region that would benefit 80% of West Africans)? Nigeria does not have to fear Morocco, their economy and output is not as big as that of Nigeria and not much bigger than that of Lagos.
PoliticsRe: Should Nigeria Grant Morroco's Request To Join ECOWAS? by freshest4live:
GrandGarcon:
why should I? Nigeria and Gambia vehemently opposes the adoption of Maroc as a member.
I modified my post above.
ECOWAS works in such a way that even Seirea -leone has a say, how much more Nigeria?
Nigerians may oppose it, but l don't think Buhari opposed it initially, this is why it was agreed on.
Nigeria has an important project with Morocco.
PoliticsRe: Should Nigeria Grant Morroco's Request To Join ECOWAS? by freshest4live:
GrandGarcon:
Ecowas is not Gambia and The Gambia is not Ecowas. There is no way Gambia and Nigeria can prevent Maroc from joining Ecowas. I totally understand you, you are afraid that Maroc will challenge naliejerià. Come on Maroc has so much infrastructure and money and a huge population and a good connection to the Arab league, it is an offer no one can resist. They also have huge investments in at least francophone countries ie the Attijariwafa bank everywhere in French Africa.
I understand, it's neither here nor there.
I think Buhari may even be in support of this because of the big gas pipeline project he wants to establish with Morocco, so Nigeria is deeply involved in this contrary to what you think.
The problem now is the Western Sahara, and probably this is why Nigerian foreign minister says the matter would still be discussed further in December. So there are some terms and conditions that may be laid down.
Did you read the article? I didn't say Gambia was against it, the plea is from a Gambian journalist.
Also note that ECOWAS cannot do anything without the agreement of all members, so before the decision was made, l think Buhari agreed. Note that the Moroccan king met with Buhari for a huge gas project that would benefit the region, before all this. So the Moroccan king has established very strong ties with Nigeria already.
ECOWAS as a regional body does her best to give all members equal power, so even Gambia's opinion counts, how much more that of Nigeria(her biggest economy)? This is why EPA has not being signed(due to opposition from Nigeria) and ECO is still not the currency for the regional body(due to opposition by smaller francophone nations)

GrandGarcon:
It is only a matter of when Morroco will join, not if. Nigeria is not Ecowas, Ecowas is not Nigeria.
Yeah, l think you would also find this interesting. Probably a write up from a Gambian and a plea to ECOWAS not to let in Morocco.

Blue3k:
No how does ECOWAS benefit and it could hinder our position as Economic hegemony. We don't need them I'm ECOWAS to benefit from trade deals.
Looking at it from another angle, l think Buhari may have had a huge influence on this decision by ECOWAS, because of the Nigerian-Morocco gas pipeline project as well as the fertilizer project that would benefit 300 million west africans. Note also that Nigeria has been under pressure by the other ECOWAS member nations to sign the EPA. Morocco has already signed the EPA, and with Morocco in, their trade and market as a gateway to Europe would ease pressure from these countries on Nigeria for some years as regards EPA, before she at least gets ready to sign the EPA.
The Moroccan king is wise, his first strategy was to establish strong ties with Buhari through the gas and fertilizer partnership.
Morroco has her own selfish interest in all of these, which is clear, hence there are advantages and disadvantages.

its high time we stop casting votes in this country
we need to teach them a strong lesson.
be wise North West South East stop allowing sentiments to ruin you. take it or leave it THIS MAN he's trying to make us wise. right from primaries Nigeria govt have not been doing anything at all to help the masses no good road no good hospital no good transport system no good education but they spend all our money buying cars and houses abroad. chai and here some people's comment will mke you cry . DO NOT THINK only on yourself bruh think about others.
If that is the arguement, then of course he would garner wide support by the youths across the nation, he can say no restructure no vote, but promoting this under the banner of secession doesn't make his intentions clear enough,.
However if the Biafra is just an ideology, then it becomes reasonable. Something tells me PDP is also using this Biafra thing as a strategy for 2019.

Try to be logical when you make assumptions.

Did Innocent tell you himself that he has had difficulty getting forex to purchase needed materials for his production?
Did government make Dangote Cement a compulsory commodity? Yes he got encouragement, but he did good marketing and has a wide and robust distribution network. Government didn't do that for him.

Quit this sense of entitlement mentality

You don't expect government to force anyone including their own MDAs to purchase Innoson. Even Peugeot Automobile Nigeria, where the FG has a stake is no longer the compulsory official car.
Innocent should engage a good sales marketer and advertising firm to sell his products to Nigerians. And also come up with good owenership and financing partnerships with banks to drive more patronage. He needs to do that.
I wonder, Dangote has spread his business empire to compete with other cement businesses in over 18 countries across africa. It shows that apart from favours from Government, Dangote has good business strategy because a man who only depends on Government favours would remain local and would not do much.
Innosun can do same.
The Nigerian Air force General is pleased with lnnosun's work, that is encouragement already.

Abuja is a city state, it is almost exclusively for the federal Government. There are other average upcoming states though like Rivers(oil capital) and Ogun(one of the most industrialized states). Cross rivers(calabar), Kaduna, Gombe and Bauchi, have potential for tourism, and there are a few others. In general, l can't tell what may attract good governance, a few states are just more fortunate in that aspect, many unfortunate, and others have a better foundation.

PoliticsRe: Why Was Nigeria Underdeveloped After 63 Years Of White Rule? by freshest4live: 4:03pm On Jul 23, 2017
Fulaman198:
India whilst to many still considered a third-world nation is doing better than many Western nations. They have the 3RD largest GDP in the world (only after China and the United States). They are doing much better than Nigeria.

Sure there are still undeveloped regions in India, but that is also the case with the United States and China. There is not one country (except maybe Switzerland, but come on it's a small country), that does not have underdeveloped regions.
The third largest GDP in the world is Japan not lndia. India has GDP of 2.074 trillion dollars for a population of 1.2 Billion, hence a lower GDP per capita than Nigeria, but they are ahead in technology and influence.

unitedsurv:
are you referring to the attack on a foreign hotel at Bamako? if it's that one I dont think Nigerian army were invited
There was a crises in Mali around 2012, where major towns were captured and the terrorists were advancing towards tthe capital. Frances did the dirty job then to preserve the Malian Government.
PoliticsRe: North East: Nigerian Military Liberated Over 25 Towns During Jonathan by freshest4live: 2:17pm On Jul 23, 2017
unqombothi:
On the whole, the past administrated should not be appreciated because these same towns were captured under them in the first place. For the first time in our history, our armed forces were on the run from a rag tag militia and we were hearing stories of poorly equipped soldiers. I know the same Jonathan later bought the arms Buhari is currently using but all facts should be acknowledged.
I don't think Jonathan should be completely blamed for that. Since 1999, the military has not been what it used to be, especially after obasanjo.
The world discovered this during the Malian crises, where Nigeria couldn't do as much as she used to in such circumstances, and had to wait for Frances. BokoHaram also exposed us more, and then we knew we had to sit up a little bit.
Perhaps those in Government subtly weakened the military first so as to preserve our immature democratic Government which is still young to an extent and growing, but now Nigeria has seen the need to equip the military properly again.

Dead on arrival. We can't risk the lives of our Patriots by patronizing flying coffins from a region that is all about money over quality. Who knows if the management of innosson is sympathetic to the biafra agitations. The innosson cars made so far are not durable and wear out within 6 months. I urge the FG to cancel this deal and patronize Russia, Pakistan or USA for better quality Jets. I don't trust a region that is so unstable with their patriotism to handle such defense contracts sad
You are wrong, the army is obviously satisfied with their work, read this part...

When they (Nigerian Air Force) came to me, I developed it the way they wanted it and they are happy with it and that is why they are here again

One question Mister, is there restructuring in the the constitution you just referred.
There is no restructuring in the constitution, but it has backing of not just the majority of Nigerians but many politicians and prominent people across the country.
If the constitution is amended to favour restructuring, this wouldn't contradict another part of the constitution that says.....One indivisible nation.
You guys are fighting against what the founding fathers especially Nnamdi Azikiwe mandated.
Azikiwe also prevented the North from seperating at a time, and made sure separation was forbidden by law. The 1999 constitution simply based itself on that premise as well.
