AMCON does not 'shut down' businesses...they take over businesses who owe a debt that they are not paying on time..and ensure that the debt is paid in full.

In the case of Silverbird....AMCON took over a debt owed Union Bank by Silverbird...and then took over Silverbird to ensure the debt was paid according to the terms and condtions.Once debt paid, AMCON Hands off. Silverbird stayed open...because if Silverbird was closed...AMCON won't have gotten back their money...plus selling the company? (Who buys a debt ridden company).
Thanks for the info.

PoliticsRe: 5 Things Nigeria Is Doing Better Than America by Friend01(m): 11:25am On Dec 09, 2018
mrrights:
5 Things Nigeria is Doing Better than America

These are 5 areas that Nigeria is clearly outdoing the US in.

1. Nigeria’s economy is growing five times faster than the US

Most people don’t associate “West Africa” and “booming economy”, but despite the global downturn, the region is home to some growth rates that would make Ronald Reagan blush. Right near the top of that list is Nigeria, that with an average growth rate of 8.1%, are experiencing more growth than the US (a pitiful 1.5%), the UK, Canada, Australia, Japan and the entire European Union… combined.

2. Nigeria has stricter anti-piracy laws than the US

You read that right. Despite the RIAA, the MPAA, bills like SOPA and PIPA and 40,000 theaters all reminding you before a film of your moral integrity in regards to stealing cars, Nigeria are clearly ahead of America in fighting piracy. Their recent no tolerance laws have reaped some serious results: 26 anti-piracy raids, 6 million pirated works (worth US$5 million) seized and 145 arrests. Also, whereas arrests made in the US usually lead to a fine and a slap on the wrist for the offender, Nigerians convicted are facing prison, some for as long as 2 years for their offences.

3. Nigeria drinks more than the US.

Some may not consider this a way Nigeria is doing better than America, but for those college students who think nobody downs Natty Light like they do, Nigeria has something to say. Nigerians easily outdo Americans in alcoholic units per capita, but drinking Guinness is where they really shine. Consuming only a few hectoliters less than Ireland, Nigerians manage to drink significantly more of the black stuff than the US, despite Americans beer-guzzling ways and a population three times as large as Nigeria.

4. Nigerians care more about freedom of the press

Despite a historically free media, recent times have seen restrictive regimes doing their best Kim Jung Il impression with the media. But where other medias in Africa and Asia have been happy to roll over for their oppressive leaders, Nigerians would rather die than give up their rights, as several have. This past year, the Nigerian media won the Free Press Africa Award, partly in honor of the many journalists who died attempting to bring the truth to the masses. I’m not sure anyone at Fox News is planning on dying for their freedom anytime soon.

5. Nigeria, not America, is the world’s police.

Take a guess as to which country commits more troops to global peacekeeping operations than any other. If you’ve read the rest of this article so far, picked up on the theme and guessed Nigeria, you’d be correct. Nigeria ships off soldiers to 80 different countries in Africa, Europe and Asia. While Bangladesh is set to pass Nigeria’s contributions in the near future, they will still be contributing more soldiers than the EU and more than five times as many soldiers as the US. Team Nigeria World Police?

I quite understand you Bro but what happened to national interest?

Remember GEJ could have persecuted the opposition during his time, and even contested the elections that brought buhari to power at the tribunal and he'd have won because the evidences pointing to electoral misconduct were glaring yet he choose to look the other way because of the lives involved and the crisis that would plunge Nigeria into.

Buhari and his followers claim he's a Democrat and a man who's got integrity so why can't he put it to work and help deepen our electoral process? Must it be all about getting reelected? Nigerians are in for this sha as long as we continue to let ourselves be willing tools to their antics.

As long as they keep dividing us along the zombie /wailer lines, the north and south lines, etc, we'd never get it right. The people supporting buhari today over these bad maneuvers don't know buhari's generation is eternally made; the same thing I tell people who sell their votes. It's your children's lives they are complicating! You want to re elect a man who doesn't have a single achievement not clouded in controversy despite being president for over 3 years because you feel power would rotate to your tribe come 2023?

Look at Nigeria and with the kind of useless political class we have, what is the future of the country in the next 20 years if we continue like this? Imagine a small boy of about 16 coming to meet me at warri during my last visit there if I could teach him yahoo yahoo or if I knew someone who could. Just imagine!
I think you are double speaking.

In one breath it seems you are accusing the President of declining his assent while in another breath (like this quote) you are blaming the political class.

Meanwhile, the name is Eric Joyce and he's a "he".
If your questions were questions that deserve answers I would have done that.

You know in your hearts of hearts you just can't handle this truth that is why you are still stubbornly clinging to a claim which have no corroborative evidence and you think it's sounds logical.

Answer my last questions logically and TRUTHFULLY then we may have a fruitful discussion otherwise this conversation is over.

Donelli:
I'll overlook the fact that you lack simple decorum to debate without resorting to direct and indirect insults. I'll also wave aside the fact that you sidelined the questions I asked and kept throwing tantrums.

Let me now attempt to address the few topical issues you raised. I should point to also, for the benefit of all readers, that in this country we ought to recognize that things are not always in black and white. There's a lot of grey areas which we ignore, especially those who think themselves smarter than others. Having said that, let's consider some things.

Do you know that there was an attempt to hide the critical health status of Yaradua from the public?

Do you also know that if not for Dr Dora Akunyili (of blessed memory) whom they didn't carry along in their plans, they would have succeeded?

Do you agree that she is not someone who can be bought to propagate falsehood that could be a major reason she was not carried along even as minister for information?

Do you think the north was happy with how it all ended, relinquishing power to an 1nfidel?

Do you think they will be likely to allow a repeat with Buhari/Osibanjo?

About the wife and children, how come she was no where to be seen when Prince Charles visited with the wife as is the practice? Why all the passive aggression against her husband's administration (e.g the party convention where he came unopposed)? Why the uneasiness around her husband which wasn't the case before now?
Where is Zara who was always in our face on twitter about her dad?

Which father welcomes his son who had a near death experience from an accident with just a "mechanical" handshake? You know what, let's keep this one aside. grin

Coming to Britain I'll ask a straight question which I require you to answer even if you avoid all the above: is it in their best interest that power comes south or remains in the north, and why?
Ditto friends and associates.

Finally, why has the British journalist, Joyce (I don't recall the full name at this time) not been sued for libel?
Why was an attempt made to assassinate Nnamdi Kanu who was the most active voice against the conspiracy instead of legal action?

If you cannot answer these questions I suggest you just walk away as against your insults and tantrums. I dont engage in such.
Sincerely, I must concede you have a way with words, but all you have been writing are neither here nor there if we were to scrutinise every paragraph.

In all your attempt of trying to stick to the topic you ended up running round in circles - which proves that you were hell bent on making me believe that it's either your way or the high way.

You also claimed most of what I have said are direct or indirect insults.
See, one thing you should understand is that in the line of fire(when arguments are tensed) subtle and unintentional insults do come up and it shouldn't be seen as something of trying to belittle you or any of my opponent on this issue.
If I were to go back to our initial point of contention you would see who really started it. But this idea of trying to play the victim when you are totally floored by points won't fly. You can try another trick.

Back to the topic, the lady in question who you couldn't recall her full name further proves my point that you people are not even sincere with the balderdash you are spreading of being factual to a fault. All you are interested in is, let's bring him down even it means lying;to you all is fair.

Like I said, you are just running around the place.
Your body double claim is what I am refuting not what the north wants or what one million and one Osinbajo did.
Stick to the topic.

I have marshalled all my points very clearly without resorting to this rigmarole approach you are using as a diversion from the main bone of contention.

And please, answer these nagging questions below with facts(i mean, corroborative facts not one cooked and believed by certain group of persons) and maybe, I could see something logical or worthy of note to pick my brain:

>Who is this Jibril Aminu from?
I mean, what is his background? (furnish us with the details of this man, because you can't just grab an imaginary figure from thin air without telling us the historical background of this imposter).

>When did this so called body double act took place ? If true, was it in a hospital or a the president's lodge in the UK? or was number 10 downing street? who were the witnesses.

>Where was the 'late' Buhari buried?
If true, who ,where and how was he buried?
We need evidences that are well substantiated not some randomly selected epistles that have no known source .

I will stop here at this junction, and I hope you will respond to the points raised without dragging in issues that are totally unrelated to what is on the table .

Just two questions: Explain to us how it is possible that a president could not use his office for months because of rat invasion. Secondly, how do you explain the fact that the president avoids (or is being hidden from) the public unless under an arranged audience?

Will I be wrong to conclude that your only problem with the story is not because of the argument itself but because of the person who first raised the alarm.

Meanwhile, it's an imposter not a clone. Also, have you not noticed that ALL the media houses and print avoided the news until when it has drawn international attention. The fact that none took up the investigation or said anything about it doesn't make it false.
I should start explaining to you as if you were dead when other past presidents who had similar challenges and they made a show of themselves by being in the office when their health condition was not good.
Your questions do not really deserve any answer to begin with, because they lack tact and coherence for there to appropriate answers.
You are only shooting in the dark with your questions.

You are right. My problem is with the source.
No SANE human is expected to believe a known liar except there are corroborative evidences from trusted source to buttress his claim. And such claim can only fly in the imagination of those who love to be told fairy tales. The source and only source that came with this ruse is the Biafra radio,I stand to be corrected. Tell me who else cooked up this garbage.

Just listen to yourself.
He is an imposter not a clone? How logical; an imposter only known to Nnamdi Cownu and his goons but not known to the British government who had him treated in one of their hospitals that a body double or double body from Sudan was swapped on their land? Even his wife, children ,relatives, close allies and even those who visited him in the UK did not know and they were evasive enough not to tell the public that Nigerians where dealing with a double body. Sometimes when I look at the crass foolishness and stupidity, and high level of insincerity being displayed by your lots I just shake my head in pity. Most of you are a disgrace to education. You think. being able to read and write makes one educated whereas it requires a level independent thinking sincerity, but who wants that when somebody can do the thinking for your for free.

I have a very close friend who has been like a brother to me right from our days in the university, we also worship in the same church, he was my best man when I wedded a few years ago. He got married this year and after the wedding things were not rosy for them the following month and I gave my little assistance as a friend. Around July this year his sister had a life threatening ailment and when he reached out to me I quickly responded with something meaningful. After some weeks his wife told me she was sick when we met in church, I quickly went to an ATM, made withdrawal and gave her money to buy drugs since her husband who happens to be my friend was not in town.

The irony of the whole thing now is
that my friend's wife now thinks that I am Father Christmas and now calls and sends texts requesting for money to take care of her antenatal drugs but I have refused to help because I believe it is wrong and she keeps pestering me.

Please what is your advice?

But the woman sha, is she not shy sending text messages to you like her breadwinner .

The fact that the whole episode is taking a new dimension on the international scene such that we are now the butt of jokes should tell you something.

A journalist writes an epistle and I am expecting to see something concrete and from the first paragraph s/he is attacking an individual instead of addressing the issues at hand and I am expected to take the article seriously? Come on.

Let the evidences and counter evidences be revealed while we analyse for ourselves. I don't regard non-issue based arguments please.

And if you think a journalist writing about something that is already public knowledge is brilliant then it's a shame.
If I may ask, what standard do you follow that makes you judge an argument or a claim to be compelling?
Just mention something logical about what these people have been saying that makes their argument compelling except, maybe, their argument is compelling to you because it suits your kind of interpretation to a story without any factual basis to it.

My kind of person is that I hardly do anything because it is trendy;rather I tread the road rarely followed by using one criterion before taking a person's view or opinion on a subject which is, that a person must be totally neutral or at least a bit neutral. i
Sincerely speaking, is this the case with the clone or imposter thing?
Which was started by a well known enemy of the state and you are expecting me to swallow whatever damn 'compelling evidences ' he has hook, line and sinker? come one dude.
You know this stuff better than I do.

And again, how many well known media houses have corroborated the claim of these ipobians with their own independent investigation.

I think you are mistaken my quote for somebody else's I never said the lady's article was brilliant, I only said she gave an overview of what is happening in the country.
Go back to my previous quote and see it yourself.

If the news was spread by our well known media houses such as premiumtimesng and Saharareporters that are reputed for investigative approach to such news I would have given it the due consideration it requires, but a story concocted, cooked and spread by a known enemy?
Or are some of us so daft that we can see in between the lines.
Should this even be a news that is worth anybody's time who knows his/her onions.

I don't think you've said anything that least compelling or even worthy of note.

If there's room for suspicion I'll abide by ur advice but for now there's none.

Buhari left Nija for months.
Wife denied access to her hubby
Nigerians denied access to their president
Nigerians starved of info about his health whereas their money was disappearing in millions for the said treatment.
Private jet parked for months in London
Rat chased him out of his office etc

That man in Aso Rock remains an impostor until proven otherwise
I think that Albino who left the shores of this country only to surface in Israel some months later need to be checked if he is not a clone or an imposter.
Because the Nnamdi Cownu we know was always breathing fire and brimstone before the python danced him out of his father's house.

Cownu's disappearance is wrapped up more mystery than Buhari's so called mysterious appearance.

Anybody sensible enough should first ask for the source of an information before it is passed around as an axiomatic truth, but Nigerians whose penchant for spreading unconfirmed and unverified news is second to none would rather believe and spread such news because it suits their wicked narrative where fake news thrive among certificated illiterates.

I still question the education of most people who still believe this hogwash and, I. so t really blame Buhari for keeping you quite because we as a people are always out to murder the truth wherever we find it b because lies benefit us more than the truth.

Lastly, before we can believe Cownu's claim let him prove to us that he is the real Kanu. Sorry, Cownu by coming to Nigeria to answer his court case.
As a professed hero of the Biafra struggle he should be bold enough to come and defend his people.
Nelson Mandela,Mahatma Ghandi and several others fought for what they believed in; not one hybridize albino Coward who spreads lies he can't stand to defend only to run away like a chick frightened by the sight of a hawk.
