Goke7: Sw need to get its politics right and stop fighting tinubu. For every agenda, you need a leader to spearhead it. I have profiled most sw big politicians, tinubu is still ahead of them. The more they fight him, the more divided they will be especially in other sw states apart from Lagos. Aferall the man is not contesting any office, na dem dey fight to become senators and governors.
Those who say it's the performance of the sw governors, I wonder what is the performance of governors in other regions where they give bloc votes. Am just happy osinbajo will use his 8 yes as VP and am satisfied with that. Whatever the sw wants to do from 2023, na dem sabi. Only one person can be boss at a time. You're right. |

Biety: I can't just imagine how that can be posible. The North is often given the power it doesn't posses. By 2023 the presidency would return to the South, and an Igbo or Yoruba would emerge as president. Pls stop taking seriously everything you read or see on the social media. Nobi FFk talkam yesterday. Sameway he and his like told southerners in 2014 that Buhari will Islamize Nigeria if Elected. Today it's just few months for the tenure to elapse yet some still take him serious. |

Mynd44: Simple answer.
As much as they like APC and Atiku was not a viable option, President Buhari didn't do enough as president to deserve the type of support he got in 2015.
He did not do enough to justify the sacrifices made for him.
He didn't meet a lot of people's expectation
He might not have totally failed but his performance isn't high up there either.
We want to sit here and ask why people didn't turn up and turn out for a president who was slow to act on a lot of issues? Seriously?
The people saw that and that made them decide to either not vote or not vote for him. What the president should do instead of you asking why SW leaders didn't mobilize people is to look at where he is lacking and take action. Yes he has issues but you should not burn your house because you're chasing rat. Had he lose the southwest lose also. Even a bigger lost for the southwest. And all the reasons you listed are not enough reasons to sacrifice him with Atiku Obi. On where he is lacking, it's up to him to show the General in him now or never. |

Shuku0kukobambi: Before nko? Is it not a joint ticket? They both would have been booted out together.
The bottom line is that Buhari seriously undermined the party in the South, particularly the SW. It was Tinubu's sheer determination and that of his foot soldiers that did it My point is the parking will still affect the Southwest that voted him out. |

We should remember there was in fighting in APC SW this contributed more than any factor to wasting votes we would have had. I am just asking and you have also contributed with some of the reasons. Mind you the election is over but understanding the reasons behind is equally important. |

Shuku0kukobambi: Exactly!! Buhari with his almost anti party behaviour caused serious problems for his party. He welcomed APM candidate hand for Ogun gov and also raised APC for the same position.
His men and Oyegun supported Akeredolu against the elders of the party in ondo. See even Lagos where the kitchen cabinet in Abuja were pushing Ambode to go against the foundational mandate group in Lagos?
Infact under Buhari's nose, DSS detained his own party chairman for 9hrs under interrogation!! Can any baggar try that under OBJ? Buhari almost ruined the party chances even in the north. See the mess in Zamfara and even Adamawa because of Aisha's plan to have her brother take over? What was Buhari's response?
See the mess in Rivers state? Leaving Amaechi alone to fight the battle when a simple presidential intervention could have nipped things in the bud.
pls just thank whatever you believe in that those loyal to the perception of his character and who saw the works from him and his hard-working ministers stayed true to the cause otherwise you would have started helping to pack his load by now. He would not park his load alone now. They will park him & Osinbajo |

My prior thought was a walk over for Apc in the southwest. Not knowing I'm totally wrong.
It's supprising that the opposition candidate "Atiku" has not only win the 25% requirements in the 6 Southwestern states but also proceed to defeat the incubent "Muhammad Buhari" in some of the states.
Now let's look at the structure of Apc & Pdp in the Southwest.
1. APC
a. Vice President b. National Leader c. 6 Apc governors d. Lagos Ogun and Oyo standard Gauge rail (linking 3 of the 6 south west states) e. Road constructions like Lagos Ibadan express and others.
2. PDP:
a. No presidential candidate b. No vice Presidential Candidate c. No party chairman e. Gov Wike even insult the SW. d. Atiku fails to campaign in Ogun state. f. No railway construction in the region for 16 years. g. The roads were terrible during their time and now they are being reconstructed.
Seriously I cannot find a reason for the bad outing. Some blame it on governors but that cannot stand. We all know who we are voting for.
I can remember before the election there were serious debate on who should be Atiku's vice presidential candidate.
Some Yorubas suggest that Atiku should choose a Southwest VP to divide the Yoruba votes, because the SS - SE will naturally aligned with PDP. On the other hand the SE kicked the idea.
Here we are today & the SW votes has been divided even with no vice presidential candidate.
Or is it because Buhari is being accused of Islamization agenda by the likes of Ffk & some pastors?
Ironically Apc did well in the South south. Kudos to Ameachi, Oshiomole, Orji Kalu etc. Also Tinubu has done his best but the followers fail to vote APC.
Had Buhari/Osinbajo Reelection Fails, Who Will Be The Biggest Loser
1. The SW will lose the Vp while the north still has a president
2. The SE will have Peter Obi as vp
3. After Atiku - Obi tenure the presidency will then move to Southeast instead of southwest. And by the tradition it will come back to north again. That will have deprive the SW opportunity to produce a President for 16 years.
I have already come across messages on social media about how the south west dissapoint Buhari with some calling for a payback.
Make no mistake the southwest did nothing wrong. It's their own wish to vote who they want without being challenged. And I respect their decision.
But I must remind us politics is about interest & calculations. My own opinion is they have failed this time in their calculations and need to put their house in order ahead of 2023. |

Politics › Muhammadu Buhari Do Not Abondone Us Again by FriendNG(op): 2:10pm On Feb 27, 2019 |
This is my message to H.E President & President Elect Muhammadu Buhari.
No Nigerian politician dead or alive has enjoyed tremendous support, patience and good will of the northern people like you. Please do not take that for granted and abondone where you're loved the most.
In your first tenure many are disappointed by your lopsided concentration in the south in terms of infrastructural development with no or very little to show for the north. Let me made this clear, we in the north does not consider rehabilitation of roads as something to write home. Roads are not special to us especially when the president is one of us.
We are also not after your political appointments which will ends with your tenure. We want something that the blind and deaf can touch and feel. We want something that will create employments for the masses.
My hope is the actualization of following before 2023.
1. Lagos - Kano Rail: This railway was divided into 4 segment. Fmr Good luck Jonathan has started the Abuja segment which you completed. The Lagos Ibadan segment is nearing completion. Therefore it remains Ibadan Abuja & Kaduna Kano Segments.
I want you to start both Ibadan Abuja & Kano - Kaduna. If that is not possible then leave Ibadan - Abuja & proceed with Kaduna - Kano Segment only. My fear is your tenure will end without the rail reaching the desired destination. SW & Abuja have had enough & it's time you concentrate elsewhere.
Abuja have light rail and also Abuja - Kaduna. Lagos, Ogun & Ibadan have rail also.
You should also hasten the establishment of transportation Universities in Rivers & Katsina states.
2. Kano, Katsina, Abia & Lagos Textile manufacturing industries: This is part of the agreement you signed last year with the Chinese authorities. You should proceed with the implementation with no further delay. I believe it will create employment and also make Nigeria an exporter of textile materials.
3. $2.8 Bn Ajaokuta Kaduna Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline which will provide stable flow of gas within the region for commercial activities to thrive.
4. 3000Mw Mambila Hydroelectric Power Project in Taraba State.
5. Hasten the completion of 700mw zungeru hydropower in Niger state. Hasten the completion of Mal Aminu Kano International airport new terminal. Abuja, Ph new airports terminals are already functioning, with Lagos terminal nearing completion.
But Kano terminal construction is not satisfactory as at last visit by the senate committee on transportation.
Remember you're falsely accused of favoring the north. Favor it with purpose so that you can be rightly accused.
On a general note we are disappointed infrastructural wise in your first tenure. We hope to see changes now. May you succeed in good health. |
Politics › Re: WHY Atiku Lost Massively In The North by FriendNG: 5:52pm On Feb 26, 2019 |
Startup00: @ OP to some extent you are correct. When results started trickling in on Sunday. I called one of my Northern friend. I asked him why do Northerners love Buhari and why is the result from the North not favouring Atiku despite been a Northerner. He told me there’s a propaganda been spread in the North that Atiku will sell NNPC. I was like what’s there own with NNPC when someone like El-Rufai also mooted that same idea 2015.
Secondly I was chatting with my gfs brother who is currently at Kebbi for vacation. He told me they voted massively for buhari. I told him I voted for Atiku and hope he will win. His response was Insha Allah just pray he does not sell NNPC.
I’m only suprised this was used as a strong blackmail against him in the North. NNPC has been a way of siphoning Money and I think unbundling and selling the JV is the right way. I still don’t know the cruise the Northners have with NNPC for them to have so much interest in it. God save us! Let me answer you. The fear is that when he sell NNPC, petrol price will not be regulated. No businessman will sell at lost. Currently the price is about 200 and NNPC subsidize it to 145. Thus bearing lost of 35 naira per litre with no profit. |
