Christianity EtcRe: Celestial Church Wins In Court, Deeper Life Church To Pay Them N5 Million by fromnigeria(m): 1:47pm On Apr 26, 2016
Ataya for our version of christianity.

That two churches can not settle their differences amicably within and between themselves is an indication of how badly we practise christianity here. Imagine Jesus taking the Pharisees to court of law.

May God help us to know what it means to be Christ-like.
Science/TechnologyMTN Pays Former CEO $1.6 Million After Resigning Over Nigeria Fine by fromnigeria(op): 3:08am On Apr 26, 2016
Ezekiel Enejeta
South Africa’s MTN paid its former chief executive officer Sifiso Dabengwa 23.7 million rand ($1.6 million) after he resigned over a record fine imposed on the company by Nigerian authorities. Dabengwa quit in November after Nigerian authorities imposed a $5.2 million fine on MTN’s Nigerian unit in October. He was awarded a total payout of 40.6
million rand, MTN said in its annual
report on Monday. Non-executive chairman Phuthuma Nhleko was then named executive chairman of Africa’s biggest mobile phone group for a period of six months, to help resolve the fine. MTN has since managed to negotiate the penalty down to $3.9 billion but is still hoping to reduce it further. MTN’s share price has been down almost 20 percent since October when the fine was imposed. The stock had fallen 1.21 percent at 145.59 rand by 1407 GMT. Last year, Nigeria imposed a deadline on mobile operators to cut off unregistered SIM cards, which MTN missed, amid fears
the lines were being used by criminal
gangs, including militant Islamist group Boko Haram.

Ephesians 6:12, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

but the term "high places" or "heavenly places" can often be regarded as spiritual covens or habitat of demons, spiritual entities etc.
[/b]
yea, thanks for your view.
But i beg to disagree with you on some of your points.
E.g; how can you say but the term "high places" or "heavenly places" can often be regarded as spiritual covens or habitat of demons, spiritual entities etc.
can often be regarded means we are assuming, and there is not suppose to be any form of assumption if the scripture does not say so.

Again, the believe is that people go to covens for meeting.
From ephesians you quoted, it states spirits or demons. It also teaches that we don't deal or wrestle with fellow human beings. (flesh and blood).

The bible has not told us this in any way, you have only assumed 'high places to means coven. Even the the dictionary couldn't tell me more.

I think the major challenge we have ask christians is a suitable answer to this question of who is a witch or wizard.

How did people get the description of how covens look like?
Christianity EtcCoven: Come In, If You Have Been There. by fromnigeria(op): 7:19am On Apr 23, 2016
In Our Nigerian version of christianity today, there exist many a myth and beliefs that even the holy bible can not prove.
One of them borders on witchcraft. Most christians here in Nigeria and even africa believes there is a place called coven. They say its a place where witches meet to perpetrate their evil acts. How they learnt this i do not know. Perhaps some of them have been there before and so knows so much.
My question is; Who has been to coven and where in the holy bible was an descriptive account of coven given?

EducationUniversity Of Calabar Retires Professor For Plagiarism by fromnigeria(op): 7:49am On Apr 14, 2016
The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has expelled 33 students for alleged examination malpractice. The Vice-Chancellor (VC), Prof Zana Akpagu, made this known during a briefing.
A professor, the VC said, was also retired by the Senate for plagiarism.
Prof Akpagu said the development was in line with his mission to rid the school of indiscipline and restore its academic glory. He reiterated management’s stance against corruption, saying: “The affected students and staff are shown the way out to restore discipline and integrity.”
He said UNICAL was the only school offering a course on anti-corruption, noting that the course was introduced in collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practice and other Allied Matters Commission (ICPC) to inculcate good values in students.

The Pro-chancellor, Dr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, who is also the chairman of the Governing Council, said the council supported the anti-corruption crusade of the VC, noting that it was in line with President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration’s anti-graft policy.
Iwuanyanwu said: “There is corruption everywhere. Our professors and intellectuals should sit down and formulate strategies to curb academic corruption. We must create platform to stop abuse of students by lecturers. We have to discourage sorting and bribery by academic staff. We don’t want corruption to be mentioned with the name of this university.”
Iwuanyanwu challenged the university staff and students to report corrupt practice wherever they notice it. He said such would help the management to drive its policy of making the school the best in Africa.

Science/TechnologyReport: Personal Sharing On Facebook Has Declined And The Company Is Worried by fromnigeria(op): 7:03am On Apr 11, 2016
One of the most popular social
networking website Facebook, is now
reportedly seeing a drop in original
content sharing on its news feed,
which is potentially a major concern
for the company. A report by The Information has stated that posts about public information like news articles dropped 21 percent year over year as of mid-2015. Overall sharing
reportedly fell 5.5 percent from
mid-2014 to mid-2015 as well. It is being said that as the social networking site becomes older, users
have become less inclined to share
updates on their lives even as their list
of friends and acquaintances continues to swell. Facebook also made a comment to The Information saying, “People continue to share a ton on Facebook; the overall level of sharing has remained not only strong, but similar to levels in prior years.” Facebook also has a dedicated team in
place called context collapse, which is
working on finding methods and
ways on how to tackle the major
decline. Company CEO has also spoken
about inspiring personal sharing at staff meetings in 2016, according to
people familiar with the matter. Facebook has also officially announced a suite of tools designed to help Facebook users more easily
communicate with businesses using
Messenger. Now, businesses will be
able to see their Facebook Page
usernames being heavily promoted
across the website, and Facebook will offer new ways to communicate with
them such as Messenger Links, which
are short URLs, and scannable
Messenger Codes. These features are
said to roll out in the “coming weeks.”

Nairaland General110 Killed, 350 Injured In India’s Temple Fire by fromnigeria(op): 6:34am On Apr 11, 2016
by Agency Reporter
Police said 110 died and more than 350 others injured in a massive fire outbreak during a fireworks display at a temple in the southern Indian state of Kerala early Sunday morning, a senior police official said. “In fact, the fire started around 3 am local time during the fireworks display at a ground next to the Puttingal temple in the state’s Kollam district, packed with 15,000 people attending a festival. “While 110 people were killed, those
injured have been admitted to various
hospitals in Kollam and other nearby
districts, where makeshifts air-
conditioned camps have been set up,” a senior police official said The official said, on condition of anonymity that the death toll may go up as the condition of some are said to be critical. Indian military choppers have been pressed into service to ferry the injured to the hospitals and the state government has cancelled the leaves of all doctors and demanding them to report to duty. According to officials, a spark had actually ignited a stack of fireworks, triggering the fire. “It was a spark from the crackers being burst that fell into the stack of crackers kept on ground, leading to the fire,” another official said.
Local TV channels showed footage of white smoke billowing from the temple and also reported that successive explosions from stack of crackers caused some parts of the temple roof to cave in. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his remark said the inferno was “heart-rending and shocking.” Modi headed to Kerala to meet the injured in a special Indian Air Force flight, along with a team of 15 specialist doctors from the national capital.
“Fire at temple in Kollam is heart-rending and shocking beyond words. “My thoughts are with families of the
deceased and prayers with the injured,” Modi said while also announcing a
compensation of two lakh rupees (4,000 U.S. dollars) for the families of each of the deceased. State Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said the temple had defied orders and carried out the “competitive fireworks”, which are a tradition during the ongoing seven-day festival ahead of the New Year of native Keralites. “A case has been registered against the temple authorities and soon they will be arrested. A judicial probe has been
ordered into the fire,” the police official said.
