”Based on information available on the UK Government website, which described the deal as a ‘major vote of confidence in UK manufacturing’, the £746 million agreement will be delivered through UK Export Finance’s (UKEF) Buyer Credit Facility and arranged by Citibank, N.A., London Branch.

“UKEF is the UK Government’s export credit agency. Its Buyer Credit Facility enables foreign buyers to access financing from commercial banks to procure UK goods and services, typically for projects that require significant UK content participation.

”In simple terms, UKEF guarantees a loan obtained by a foreign buyer from a commercial bank, which is then used to pay for UK goods and services, with the bank paying the UK exporter directly on behalf of the buyer.

”Under this agreement, at least £236 million of the £746 million in supplier contracts will be awarded to British companies, while British Steel will supply 120,000 tonnes of steel billets under a £70 million contract, representing its largest UKEF-backed export order, for port rehabilitation projects,” Abdullahi stated.

He said that the ADC was particularly concerned that the Nigerian government has entered into an agreement that left the country at a clear disadvantage, seemingly in exchange for a few hours of pomp and pageantry, and as part of a broader attempt to secure foreign validation, even as millions of Nigerians continue to face poverty, unemployment, and worsening insecurity.

Please, can any of you show me where in the bible there is any reference to David having an insignia or a banner in the form of a star as that on the current flag of Israel?

The only mention of a star in the bible is that of the ''star of remphan'' which is not in any way associated with David.

This can only be strange to a criminal deportee. Nigerians with no legal right to remain in the UK. Why do you want to force yourself to remain where you're not wanted? Has nothing to do with Nigerian citizens in the UK.

This is for asylum seekers and not illegal imigrants.

The UK also has a similar agreement with Rwanda to temporarily house asylum seekers in faccilities that the UK will build and the asylum seekers will also get a small monthly token from same UK govt while their asylum process is pending. If it fails, they will be informed and the Nigerian govt will remove them back to their country which the UK will pay for their flights.

This is a money earner for the Nigerian economy and I don't see how this is bad in any way as I don't see any of those asylum seekers willing to remain in Nigeria if their asylum is denied.

The UK is doing this because they have a serious housing deficit and their social services like the NHS and public schools are being streched to their breaking point. The UK also will pay less on welfare to these asylum seekers given the lower cost of living in Nigeria.

In a nut shell, if Nigeria receives 5,000 asylum seekers annually who will spend approximately 6months to a year processing their asylum claims into the UK, and the UK pays each asylum seeker one thousand pounds per month for their duration of stay in Nigeria, that will amount to 30 million to 60 million pounds injected into our economy.

Also consider that the UK will foot the bill for their accomodation and build asylum camps/estates for them and if their application fails or is succesful, the UK will pay for their travel out of Nigeria.

Nigeria stands to gain at least one hundred million pounds annually with this deal which is about 200 billion NAIRA.
This is more than what the entire SE region contributed to the Federal purse annually.

So rest.

Nigeria is being paid to house asylum seekers who will continue their application from Nigeria and will be in semi detention within a secured enviromnet.

These asylum seekers have no rights in Nigeria and are not in anyway being granted automatic stay or legal status within Nigeria.

The UK will pay Nigeria to receive and house all pending asylum seekers and if denied, they will be automatically removed and sent back to their country of origin and this will be on the UK's dime and not ours.

A similar arrangement is already in place with Rwanda which is now housing asylum seekers.

The Ghanaians also signed an agreement with the US to receive deported illegal immigrants of western African origins and from there bus them back to their country of origin.

Ghana is being paid for each deported immigrant and they are provided funds by same US to repatriate the deportees back to their country of origin.

Also, asylum seekers have the right to reject coming to Nigeria while their asylum proceedings are pending. They can go to Rwanda or back to their country.

Nigeria will make money per head on each asylum seeker into the US.

So what exactly is wrong with this arrangement?
