Politics › Re: Igbo Presidency Doesn't Exist - Okorocha Says by Funmisurge(m): 10:42pm On Jun 14, 2019 |
Mayydayy: There is something I try so hard to understand about the issue of Igbo and the Nigerian presidency. Has any tribe in Nigeria ever felt better than the others because their own tribeman is the president or head of state. The Fulani ethnic group has had the highest number of heads of state/presidents ruling this nation, are they better off socially and economically than the Igbos. The Yoruba too has had their own share of leadership at the apex in this country, are they better off than the igbos too?
I think it doesn't matter who becomes what in this godforsaken country.what matters is who is better off in this hell called Nigeria.people like the emperor,Rochas only work for what benefits them and not what will benefit the larger populace. He thinks himself the best and most qualified Igbo man for the post of Nigerian presidency. He failed in IMO and will keep failing. He had an opportunity to prove his own difference in IMO but failed.let him cry over spilled milk for the test of his life. Who cares. And my advice to the Igbos: 1.know yourself 2.no tribe is exempted from the hell we are going through in this country including the people in the presidents backyard,Daura. 3.Individualism is the king in this country.make money, build house/s,marry a fine wife, have beautiful children and above all,be happy. 4.sit back and watch. This current system will eventually swallow itself and you will have nothing to lose. If we must say the truth, my advice to my people from Igbo extraction is to put sentiment, hatred and tribalism aside and embrace the united Nigeria. They cried more than the bereaved in most occasions. The political situation they found themselves today was as result of GEJ's defeat in 2015, after all, GEJ isn't an ndigbo. An ijaw origin from Bayelsa and most his people did not even call Buhari names the way an average Igbo does. In just concluded election, there was a senator and two house rep members from Jonathan's small state bayelsa and here, Igbo people said over their dead bodies for APC in their lands. I have been privileged to travelled to virtually every part of this countries, and in all fairness, the economic viable of S/E can't be compared to that of S/W and North simply because of political will of the latter regions. No matter the status of ur wealth, if don't have political will, u are more or less second fiddle in the system. I know some people would still want to doubt about my reference to economic viable but it's indeed a reality. Despite the fact that, Anambra has some level of business activities yet, their IGR is far less than that of Ogun, Kaduna and even Kano state. The reason isn't far fetch, political power is missing. U can't use all ur hard earnings currency to attract high level of developmental goal to ur state solitarily. U need governmental influence and u can't see urselves better than other regions or see them as ur enemies to be entrusted with highest sovereignty of the country. I think Yoruba's were able to realized this in time after the blunder of Awolowo that sees Hausa and perhaps Igbo's as his region enemy, with due respect to him, he played active opposition roles and he paid for it dearly, lost his brilliant first son and ended up in jail by government superintended by Hausa & Igbo coalition government of 1960's. That's power of government. It's very sad that Igbo didn't see anything wrong from exclusion of Nigeria's government from 2015 - 2019 and they still made the same blunder in the just concluded general election. Admittedly, Igbo's are very industrious and business oriented but somebody somewhere make policies for that business, secure and protect that businesses. In this case, where are ur voices? Is a president, vice president, Senate president, DSP, Speaker or Deputy Speaker? In area of security apparatus, nobody is ur image and yet, there isn't feeling of concern but rather continually singing; "we are better off". To me, I'm sacred! |

tactius: To be honest, this is not too funny.
While AIT has been very partisan, and sometimes biased...the truth is, we are running a democracy. We are supposed to have freedom of speech.
On the other hand, the truth also is that some of the content AIT has broadcast...can be used for 'unfortunate ends'.
In 1966, the rebroadcast of some fake news on a government radio station led to the reigniting of pogroms against members of a certain tribe in this country, which eventually provoked the Civil War and led to millions of deaths.
The truth is, NBC suppose ban a lot of people. Not just AIT, not all in the opposition. In all fairness, AIT has gone astray on the ethics and principle of journalism. Many a times, they allowed themselves to be overwhelmed by partisan politics and overall interest of opposition parties. Life isn't always given all the desires and needs. One can hardly known that TVC was owned by Tinubu by virtue of the disposition of TVC journalists. A typical example is HANGOUT JOURNALISTS, they would dissect matters arises with fair and just. Channel TV is another symbol of brocasting outfit. AIT need orientation as regarding twenty first century media practice to enable stay afloat among their peers |

fairfora: Yea, commonsense can never be common because we can never reason same way. If Tinubu is your elder. It's your choice and I wouldn't be surprised if you reason and act just like him...it means you can sponsor thugs to terrorise and intimidate people. You can defraud state and amass the wealth that belongs to them. You can renege on your cause, just to suit your selfish agenda ( I remember in the 90s, up till 2013 when Tinubu was championing restructuring in Nigeria). The moment he joined force with the northern party and others, he dropped the idea, just to suit his personal aim. We used to think he was fighting for us yorubas by staging all manners of protests against the federal government in Lagos in those days, shouting restructuring. All that disappeared all of a sudden. 2020 is even too late for the northern elders to begin strategizing on how to form a new party and dump the apc. Then he would know khaki no be leather. The likes of junaid and babachir have been coming out already from their shell to say there's nothing like a zoning arrangement in the APC. He's losing popularity amongst us already. Despite the money he spent in Ondo aldi oyo states in the last elections, the people's voice still overshadowed his. Lobatan U are missing points here though, I sensed ur political affiliation through this write-up. Tinubu might not be a saint but he's a force that need to be appreciated in the democratic process in the country. He has fought battle against many retrogressive elements and uncivilized political gladiators in the last two decades of our democracy. |

Kingpunter: Sad news for Olajumoke's fans as the model you know as lajumoke Orisaguna is no more! She now goes by the name Olajumoke Chris,
We are someone sure Chris is not her father's name but since she needed a male sounding name as a last name and also a trendy sounding name to go with her new brand she has chosen to be called, Olajumoke Chris for now.
You will recall that Olajumoke and her (now ex) husband ran into a rancour into who is the boss of their home and how Olajumoke has turned him into a house husband.
https://www./2019/04/olajumoke-orisaguna-officially-divorces-her-husband-changes-last-name-to-chris.html It's expected for this story to have happened in their union. The bitter truth is that, when ur spouse is rising or climbing ladder above u, u don't have to feel contended neither satisfied 'cos, it will get to a stage where he or she will see u too inferior and unmatchable to the success attained. Me; I blamed the guy, too overwhelmed by her wife fame and he got relaxed. Lesson for everyone of us out there... |

One thing u must understand about PMP critics, they are the people who were feeding fat on Nigeria, professional politicians and unrepentant culprits of nation's resources. This trend u are witnessing won't stop until the next 3 dispensation of general electioneering seasons in Nigeria. My prayer is that, if another party will take over the reign of this country, it shouldn't be PDP at Federal level. God bless Nigeria really good! |

Ralphjoe: I recently got a job at a company and there is this girl, that is my colleague in the sales department, we've been close friends ever since I joined the company to the extent that even her best friend there is jealous of our friendship.
The crux of the matter is that am beginning to have a crush on her and it's eating me up, am kind of afraid to let her know of it because I think it will affect our friendship.
What do you guys think I should do here, should I go ahead and let her know about my feelings for her or should I just keep it to myself. I want a matured and reasonable advice. thanks guys. Just be bold to express ur feeling. He that ask shall be given.. |

PYO and Gradunje/ Masari or Elrufai will create storm for any opposition only if the deal could sail through among the top echelons of APC. But for BAT, I don't see his aspiration of becoming President come to pass simply because, a kingmaker hardly becomes king though, he's very intelligent and he has political savvy to get things working for this country. As for PDP, the best show for them is to zone their presidential candidate to the East and VP to the north but the question is, can a northerner agree to deputize an aspirant from the east? |
