FamilyRe: My Sister Wants To Quit Her Young Marriage. by funshybam(m): 4:42pm On Aug 24, 2021
Unfortunately, the guy now has skittering child from another woman.... he can't abandon the child.... he must take responsibility for the child, and probably the mother.... your sister should brace for the worst, the guy may eventually marry the girl and bring her home.... she should try get something doing or you support her as the next few months may be turbulent for her.
PoliticsRe: 'How Police Robbed Me Of 100k For Having 2 Laptops In Lagos' - Man Shares Story by funshybam(m): 12:32am On Jan 16, 2021
I'm so sorry for the terrible experience.. I can relate with when one is having such encounters with Nigerian Policemen.... you are practically helpless.

I think the mistake started from you riding Bolt/Taxify.... I have read many stories of some of the drivers working with kidnappers, SARS and other policemen.... he could have set you up.... any suspicion of the deiver after you booked the ride and told him your destination was airport?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Government Recruitment In Nigeria Is Scam: What Happened In Oyo State by funshybam(m): 1:22pm On Sep 02, 2020
Desmondum:
I have been hearing people saying this but I never believed, I used to think those people are just finding excuses for their failure. Now it has happened to me.

We applied for advertised jobs at the Oyo State Hospital Management Board around November last year, qualified applicants wrote CBT around February this year. The results were out around March and people who failed and passed were able to see/check their result one way or the other.

Now, wen the list for shortlisted candidates for interview was pasted just last week, it was not up to 10-20% of the people that passed. It became obvious that only connection worked here.

My question now is that, is this how we are going to continue in this country?

What exactly is the future of youths in Nigeria?

For how long are we going to remain this way?

Kindly share your experience if you have passed through a situation like this either on State or Federal level, I would also appreciate other people that applied, passed and denied employment in Oyo State Hospital Management Board to buttress this. I don't want to keep quiet because our silence keep making things worse in this country.

Below is the list of people that passed in my department. I'll upload the few list for the final shortlisted candidates next to it, just 18 people.
Apologies to anyone who might not like his or her name published, but I just have to do this, we can't continue this way in this country.

Mods, I'll really appreciate if you guys can move this to FP.
I think it is wrong to generalize and say connection worked because not everyone who passed was called!

There would obviously be limited positions to be filled and usually only a few of those who passed will make it. You can make your ascertion only when you are one of the top guys and you werent picked... and even at that, several factors may be considered before final shortlisting.
HealthRe: Businessman Attempts To Jump Into Lagos Lagoon Over N.5m Debt by funshybam(m): 3:41pm On Aug 03, 2020
The guy should be flogged and his MBA withdrawn from him.

You went to collect loan when there is a global pandemic and its attending consequences visible to all. How does he expect to operate in lockdown to make money and repay?

As at January/February, there was already clamour withing Nigeria for lockdown .... and he collected loan in march... the guy na joker... he should come up with plan to pay his debt and be charged to court for attempted suicide.

It reeks of cheer wickedness to owe and plan not to payback by attempting to die. What does he want to happen to the lender?
PoliticsRe: Cross River Assembly Rejects Ikpeme’s Confirmation As CJ, Again, Post Vacant by funshybam(m): 11:13am On Jun 04, 2020
This is simply abuse of power by the house of Assembly!!

The constitution requires that
1. NJC Recommends a nominee to the governor, in this case, Justice Akon Ikpeme
2. Governor forwards recommendation to House of Assembly
3. House of Assembly Confirms/Rejects the nominee

but here, House of Assembly is rejecting and also dictating who NJC should recommend in the person of Justice Maurice Eneji,!! the house is trying to usurp the powers of NJC... this should not be allowed to stand
TravelRe: Does WES (US) Accept Degree Certificate Via Fax? by funshybam(m): 10:45pm On Jan 17, 2020
I also got into this category yesterday.... WES mailed that I had pending "Degree Certificate/Statement of Result" document after they had finished processing my transcript.... I sent it to them via fax (+1 416-972-9004) yesterday night and by today, they already updated my profile to indicate receipt of "a document being processed"

I actually got the fax hint from a friend and confirmed when I saw this thread

PoliticsRe: Why NJC Can’t Consider Onnoghen’s Case - Prof Itse Sagay by funshybam(m): 6:55pm On Jan 16, 2019
Sagay's position is entirely illogical and untrue.

If NJC finds him guilty, NJC will recommend that he be removed as CJN.

Removal as CJN is entirely different from being sacked from public service as a judge...

Onnoghen can then be tried after NJC's recommendation

CrimeRe: Driver Steals UNILAG Lecturer’s ATM Card, Withdraws N2.7m by funshybam(m): 9:44pm On Sep 10, 2016
seunoni34:
There is no software that can uncover an ATM Card PIN.
What might have happened was that the boss had given him the PIN at a time to help him make withdrawals.

Even if there was a software, what service will it connect to get the pin? Mastercard? Visa? Or where? Even your bank cannot know your pin because it's encrypted right in the card. And it uses a one-way hash, like md5 which can only be encrypted on input and can never be decrypted back.

Moreso if he were to have made an online transaction where only the card CVV2 is required the online merchant will still send the card owner a confirmation code by SMS of which the he doesn't even have the owner's phone at hand.

Again If he's so smart to ever have such software it means he will have a direct connection to a private data storage of mastercard, Visa and other card providers which means he won't even need to steal cards to get the money.
There are one thousand and one smarter ways to steal electronically without getting caught, he just added that "software" line so everyone will think he's one kind of genius that needs to be explored.
Oga Seunoni34,

I also once lived in the illusion that MD5 hash can't be reversed, but, I just discovered its a lie. There are several free hash reversal sites/apps online...all you need is just to know the hashing algorithm...and the algorithm can be guessed fairly easily if one is familiar with popular hashing algorithms. Also, PIN is stored on cards, hence, it might not be impossible to get the PIN off the card if he has a card/chip reader
.... best bet for banks is to use multiple algorithms for the hashing

Technology MarketMTN Fine May Be Reduced To N520million by funshybam(op): 10:52am On Jan 14, 2016
I write in reference to your recent editorial on the fine imposed on MTN. Beyond the issues so eloquently articulated in the piece, I believe that the fine in the sum of N1.04 trillion(Later reduced to N780Billion) is ultra vires for the simple reason that the commission lacked the legal power, under section 12(1)(c)(ii) of the interpretation act, to exceed the sum of N100 per contravention of the Nigerian Communication Commission(Registration of Phone Subscribers) regulation 2012. To the extent that the commission purported to empower itself, vide regulation 19, 20 & 21 of its said regulations, to impose fines on telecom service providers at the rate of N200,000 per contravention, the NCC simply exceeded its power under the provision of the interpretation act. Hence, my belief that the said fine is invalid, null and void. In my opinion, the size of the fine ought not to have exceeded the sum of N520Million based on the total number of allegedly unregistered subscribers(5.2Million) on MTN's network multiplied by the sum of N100 as stipulated under the said provision of the interpretation act.
