This is my answer to a previous thread.

The problem today is that most people read the Bible like novels. To interpret what is the bible, you need the Holy Spirit. First and foremost, in the book of Proverbs Chapter 1:1 - 6, the bible was not written for the canal mind.

Not to bore you to much, the temple may mean a building but prophetically, it means your body. Not everybody's body is a temple. The Bible made it clear that our body is the temple of God. But in the book of Daniel and other books of the prophets, there is something called, 'abomination of desolation.'

Not everyone knows the meaning but several people are passing through this bondage. I am not too good at memorizing bible verses. But I will try to mention some bible verses ... Daniel 11:28 - 30 spoke about Holy Covenant and abomination of desolation likewise Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Christ spoke about it.

Now the full explanation - when you are innocent, that is, you are not into sourcery/witchcraft or worship no other God except Jehovah, you are in conformity with the holy covenant. But once you become a witch/wizard/soucerer/idol worshipper, then the abomination of desolation is your new line and your master is Satan.
In the book of Daniel 11:31, the sanctuary (that is the body, i.e. temple) got defiled by Satan who made those who forsook the holy covenant to become witches and wizards when they least expected, hence, their worship to Jehovah God cannot be accepted anymore. Hence, the writing in Daniel 11:31, "... And forces shall be mustered by him (the beast) and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation."

In my next comment, I will interpret the signs of the end of time prophetically.

You're right that the Holy Spirit is a necessary helper in interpreting the scriptures. He is the One who takes us deeper from the surface of the Word into the deep things of God.

However, you must avoid the danger of gravitating towards either of some two dangerous extremes. I find your position that scriptures have only spiritual interpretations to them very disturbing. Please be informed that all parts of scripture have their spiritual messages depending on what the Holy Spirit intends to pass across per time. Hence, different people may receive different inspiring spiritual messages from a single verse of scripture. However, while all verses carry spiritual gems, certain parts of scripture have both literal and spiritual interpretations. The Books of Daniel and Revelation are clear examples.

Yeah, the spiritual interpretations you gave are great but those are not the only spiritual messages that those passages carry. For example, Jerusalem being surrounded by armies can be used by the Holy Ghost to pass across diverse spiritual messages that may not even be contextually related. However, there's also a literal interpretation of that passage because it's actually a prophecy that has had partial fulfilment. There's a literal abomination that makes desolate - a physical and literal defilement of a physical temple. Then, there's also spiritual messages as well. There are abominations a Christian could permit in his or her body that could lead to desolations in life and destiny. There could be several other spiritual messages apart from this.

I appreciate your interpretations as they could help us look into those scriptures from some new angles. However, I need to implore you as a brother not to allow yourself to be swayed into any of the two dangerous extremes aforementioned.

The book of Revelation recorded future events. The destruction of the second temple was already a past event in AD 96.

When we pray in tongues, we do so to edify ourselves. We're encouraged to do so by the Bible.

Jerusalem was a diverse community in those days. The disciples were having their first experience. They were not ministering to anyone. They were praying privately as the churches do today. The diverse community of people in Jerusalem heard them and commented. If there's a diverse community today around a tongue speaking church, they would likewise comment.

Are you saying churches should not speak in tongues because there is no diverse community of people to understand what they're saying? The primary purpose is individual edification. The disciples in the upper room didn't speak in tongues to minister to the community. Did they? They spoke in tongues to edify themselves, then the community heard and gathered. That can happen today too if the church is located in a community where there are many people speaking various languages. But the absence of a diverse community cannot stop the churches from edifying themselves.

When they speak in tongues, do they direct the tongues at you? They're each having their individual private prayers in tongues. If you cannot speak in tongues, pray in the language you understand.

Whenever tongues are used for direct ministrations to people or individuals, they are always interpreted. When people are having their individual prayers in Churches, they're free to speak in tongues as long as they're not directing the words at any human individual.

They didn't break any biblical rule. You're the one misjudging.

I would just add a brief rejoinder to what my brother in Christ, OkCornel has explained in order to give you more clarity.

The events that Jesus narrated which you quoted are actually related to the time of Jacob's Trouble. Everything that happened in AD 70 is referred to as the time of Jacob's Trouble.

Now, the time of Jacob's Trouble bears a striking similarity to a future event. They are similar in a few ways but they're not the same event. Due to their similarities, there appears to be an overlap in incidences. OkCornel has shown you the differences between those events by highlighting the expected happenings that never took place 2000yrs ago.

Jesus was forwarning the disciples about an imminent destruction of Jerusalem while also telling them about His second coming. The last seven years of the world have some elements of the time of Jacob's Trouble in it but they're not the same events.

If the events of AD 70 were understood by the disciples as marking Christ's second coming, then they would have concluded that Christ was no longer coming since the predicted events had occured without Christ appearing. However, the reverse is the case because they understood that the events that happened clearly relates to the time of Jacob's Trouble and has nothing to do with the second coming.

At the second coming, all the events prophesied by Daniel would receive total and literal fulfilments. Until then, Jesus would not come. Even the Apostle Paul gave such hints in the Thessalonian reference you halvely quoted to obfuscate the truth.

Muhammad by poisoning after the battle of Khaybar after their defeat
fat the hands of the Muslims. In the course of negotiating the terms
of surrender, Zaynab volunteered to cook a lamb for Mohammed.
Mohammed took some of the lamb meat and chewed a morsel of it, but he
did not swallow it. Bishr b. al-Bara b. Ma’rur who was with him took
some of it as the apostle had done, but he swallowed it, while the apostle spat it out, saying, ‘This bone tells me that it is poisoned.’ Bishr became paralised and died shortly after.

Zaynab's Motivation:'
The Messenger of God called Zaynab, and said, "Did you poison the shoulder?" She said, "Who told you?" He replied, "The shoulder." She said, "Yes." He asked, "What persuaded you to do that?" She said, "You
killed my father, my uncle and my husband. You took from my people what you took. I said to myself: If he is a prophet he will be
informed. The sheep will inform him of what I did. If he is a king, we will be relieved of him."

From that time, Mohammed's health deteriorated badly and died with no
one able to help him recover.

Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet in his ailment in which he died, used to say, "O 'Aisha! I still feel the pain caused by the food I ate at Khaibar, and at this time, I feel as if my aorta is being cut from that poison."

2. Sahih al-Bukhari 2617: Book 51, Hadith 49
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
A Jewess brought a poisoned (cooked) sheep for the Prophet (ﷺ) who ate from it. She was brought to the Prophet and he was asked, "Shall we kill her?" He said, "No." I continued to see the effect of the poison on the palate of the mouth of Allah's Messenger

3. Sunan Abi Dawud 4512 : Book 41, Hadith 19
Narrated Abu Hurairah:
.....
This version adds: So a Jewess presented him at Khaybar with a roasted sheep which she had poisoned. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ate of it and the people also ate.
He then said: Take away your hands (from the food), for it has informed me that it is poisoned. Bishr ibn al-Bara' ibn Ma'rur
al-Ansari died.
So he (the Prophet) sent for the Jewess (and said to her): What motivated you to do the work you have done?
She said: If you were a prophet, it would not harm you; but if you were a king, I should rid the people of you. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then ordered regarding her and she was killed.
He then said about the pain of which he died: I continued to feel pain from the morsel which I had eaten at Khaybar.
This is the time when it has cut off my
aorta.

Can you imagine? If Jesus or any of the apostles have eaten that poison, nothing would have happened to him. Bishop Oyedepo once ate poisoned food in the house of someone he visited. Nothing happened to him. Is Bishop Oyedepo not greater than Mohammed?
