Seun:
Are you resistant to Malaria? Do you enjoy flooded streets, smelly gutters, and heavy traffic? Are you willing to generate your own electricity and survive on bottled water the entire time? Do you have friends in Nigeria?

If you answered "no" to any of the above questions, then you prodably do not want to live in Nigeria. Why do you want to live in Nigeria anyway? I think you should come as a tourist, enjoy the best destinations, then return.
I humbly wish to disagree with all the points you raised on this topic Seun,

Been resistant to malaria, aint there folks or expatriated living in the same Nigeria how many has died from Malaria you guys keep making a big deal of nothing

Flooded streets, smelly gutter and heavy traffics, where in the world are these not prevalent even if not as worse as Nigeria but i believe there are still some parts where she can live and avoid all the aforementioned if not completely but to the barest, and even if not at all it's quite an experience worth the time,

Self-generating electricity, there are ofcourse service appartments where she wouldnt need to worry about power outages i hope you know that and for your information the amount she'd pay for these appts annually is almost what she'd have paid for the same appt in the U.K for like 2 months, so what's the big deal,

Surviving on Bottled water, thats no news , here in europe i live on bottled water too most folks here do

Please Nigeria is not as bad as it is been painted,

@Gemmie

Please go with your heart and believe me you are not making a wrong move it is worth the experience because i believe thats what you are going for afterall if it's becoming unbearable to you,can find your way back to the U.K

As per your questions pls visit this site and the best bet would be to visit the Nigerian High Commision in the U.K for more info,

Politics › Re: We Need A European Leader To Fix Nigeria? by gaby(m): 11:48am On Nov 07, 2006
shango:
What Nigeria Needs Is An European Leader To Fix Our Country

fact is under British rule the country had an exchange rate that was greater than the dollar

the only thing generating money is the oil companies that pay us for our oil, all run by western corporations, we cannot even refine the greatest resource on the planet ourselves.

the only nation in sub saharan africa that ever developed nuclear weapons was South Africa, and that was due to the Afrikaans. Without the demolition of Apartheid South Africa could have been the only African world power thanks to its prior European leadership.

Blacks are incapable of ruling themselves. We needed white Christain missionaries and conquestidors to bring us modern technology, government and religion as the modern world knows it today. What makes us think the monkeys of yesteryear can suddenly rise to the status of our prior masters in all avenues of life if we couldnt even do so on our own all these centuries.

I mean while white colonists in the new world where fighting for independence from britain we where busy selling our kin to them. We openly invited colonisers to take over our lands with not so much as a fight raised. If we weren't colonised we would still be running half naked in the bushes. And yet you morons think one of us will lead us forward? Since our independence our country has been in a steady decline. Africans do not have what it takes to manage a city much less a country. The richest country in Africa is Nigeria, with the worlds greatest export, yet we are still third world, and countries like the Netherlands with no natural resources to speak of has a higher literacy rate than even the United States.

If we got a white leader, perhaps even one of the former south african leaders I bet the country would see a 180 turn in less than 5 years.
What an idiotic comment, i weep for you whatever your name is you sure need some help, i am very convinced the author of this post is a white dude trying to play a Nigerian, May you rot in hell foooooool,

Bring in the white folks to come rule your father's house then you'll know that the suicide bombing in Iraq is just a mere joke,

What the f, k?I still can't believe there can be anyone of us still this ignorant of what we've been through in the past and still going through presently all thank to your white fathers, may you all rot in hell a, hole,

Why can't y'all mind you respective countries and allow us freedom to take on our things ourselves and continue battling to clean up the huge mess already created by you lying, cheating and decieving bastards, we don't need your helps man your coast and lets man ours and see who's going to need who's help on the long run,

I would have expected your post would be something like how do you wake up to fight against the seed of discord that has been sowed amongst us (blacks)by these devils instead you are here with your sick mind calling on your foes to come and complete what they started in your household,

Where's my sista??Please come give this fool a piece of my heart because im just short of words to convey how nauseating this post has made me feel this morning, shiiiit just ruined my day,

Die a, hole

Na waaa oooh what a lovely thread, im really taken aback down memory lane i've laughed my ribs to shreds here reading all of ur posts very very funny, Men i don tire for this oyinbo country wished i could turn back the hands of time,

Ok lets see if i can remember few of mine ol school days,

Well i attended 2 primary schools my first primary school was one community primary school in P.H,i can still remember i used to have a neigbour who was in primary 4 or 5 then whom i used to call my aunty who brings me to and from school and then my dad used to drop us off at school with all other kids in our neigbourhood who attend the same school, those days i will be sitting next to my dad in his rickety jallopy pick-up in front with my aunty while the others will be loaded behind like sardine, you dare not insult me or my aunty or else you'll walk to school d next day,

Well all thru primary 1-5 i was very brilliant and always came out 1st or second in my class so when i got to primary 5 our class teacher introduced s.thing like having a special note book for all our tests no longer the usual "full scap" shee which was disposable and at before the terminal exams we have to submit our test note books for our teacher to record our test scores but then i was already becoming a way ward and although i had real good grades in my tests i didnt submit mine and lo when it was time to hand out our report cards OMG i wasnt among the first 3 cos that was how it goes those days they call out the best student and then the next, when i got mine i looked in i saw 37th out of 38 students, yeparipa fear let me go house that time i don dey think wetin i wan do oooh cos my papa and my mama wey harsh anyhow go surely beat the living day lite out of me, na so i carry my report card go one corner put spit for my hand with my small pikin sense erase the 7 come go leave the 3th na so i begin form dey go house not knowing there was nothing like 3th, when i got to my street the big bros dem were like (my name) lets see ur result and boldly i submitted it to them for inspection ,the mumu big bros them those days sef no notice d mistake if not dem for let me know instead they were bobs we trust you as usual thats good, that was how i went home with my result oooh, my parents werent home yet when my dad came back from work and asked for my result i gave it to him and he was like going thru the pages and was even shouting at me when he saw the 3th thinking it was 3rd cos i've always been 1st or second, my dad sure wouldnt have known if he had only dwelled on the number but he decided to go through my scores in the different subject and he saw that it all didnt add up to my purported position in a class of 38 and also the teacher's comment which i over looked was boldly written underneath, "very poor performance needs to sit up in class" that was when my dad looked closely and noticed that my result had been tampered with and he was like so you came out 3th you are a very smart boy the next thing i heard all over me was correct flogging with belt after that na solid pick-pin for like 2 hrs when i dey shake dey sweat like who dem comot im intenstines na so my mama dey one corner dey put fire for the matter, chei i regret my life no be small that day, na soo,

My gist long well well oooh cos i do a lot of yawu yawu things but i go continue my torie laters i wan go watch foot-ball match now,

Travel › Re: ADC Plane Crash In Abuja by gaby(m): 11:21am On Oct 31, 2006
My fellow peeps i've been following the nigerian dailies since the crash of the ADC Flight in which a good number of lives were lost and pray almight God to rest their gentle souls in peace whilst granting the families left behind the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

I am still shocked beyond words following this tragedy and the subsequent new conferences where the pilot of the ill-fated flight is become the sole accused responsible for this mis-hap.I personally disagree with this talk about the pilot ignoring air traffic warnings and so on and even going as far as saying he was prepared to take the risk.My fellow nlers this is obviously occasioned by the lackadaisical attitude of the ministry of aviation to put things right in terms of reforms in the aviation industry to make air travelling less risky in Nigeria and because this is happened and someone needs to take responsibility the late pilot has been found as the only person befitting of the blame not forgetting that even if this guy was innocent of the blame, ofcourse he wont be here to defend himself afterall dead body no dey talk,

I still cant figure out how someone could come up with such comments even before the panel of enquiry inaugurated has even started their investigations into the cause of the crash, besides how could you make people believe that a single pilot ignored warnings coming from the air control authority in charge of the air space this goes to show the nigerian air spaces and airports are to attacks and what nots as there are basically no human of technological infrastructures in place to curb any of these from happening,

I might be wrong in my view peeps but this is just my personal opinion and i would like to read from you fellow nlers to know your take on this topic,

let the comments keep coming,

Peace!!
Sports › Re: John Mikel Obi Better Than Okocha At 19? by gaby(m): 2:32pm On Oct 20, 2006
OKOCHA VS.MIKEL OBI @ 19

Na wa ooooh, Personally i would give it to Mikel Obi, Well open for critism about this and i will give my reasons,

We all have seen Mikel's exploits at 19 even if thats not his real age merely looking at the dude would tell you he shoouldnt be older than 21, Now to the Big gist okocha at 19 when we all claimed we knew him was that his real age??, i personally believe Okocha at 19 (foot-ball wise) was actually like 25-27 yrs old and even if at the end of the day Okocha wins the vote as been better at that age it won be any suprising to me cos ofcourse you no fit compare Agbalagba with Omode Now, shuoooooo

Abe make una bring another topic out jooooooooooooo
