24 hours, 51 stops smiley To some this might be a torturous welcome to Canada and I don’t recommend it. September 20th is when registration closes? I pray all fall resuming applicants have heard a decision by then. CIC ought to up its game.
My latest date to register is September 19th

I am seeing up to 800k to 900k one way economy class to Canada even.
You're right. I noticed one can solve that problem by flying to nearby airports. In one case I saw bus to continue the trip for almost 24 hours and 51 stops. After flying then busing blood clot may kill the son ofan oh. Saw closer airports at better prices thereafter. Noticed local flight fees come down drastically on the 20th after most registration have closed. This this is timed!

Hello guys,

I'm pleased to write a few survival tips for fellows coming to start their studies in Island of Eire - Ireland in the coming days. First let me congratulate you on your offer and consequent visa approval. I know and understand the feeling....

I'm certain many will be bothered about what to buy and what not to buy. My advice ...

Searching for accommodation, bank account opening , registration with GNIB and other related matters

To be continued.
Thanks for the information. Most grateful for your time and knowledge shared.

Just tracked. My passport has been dispatched.

Thinking of going to UPS office tomorrow morning since they are about 2kms away from me.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure I can make it anymore even if the visa is approved. I think I put the best application I've ever done forward in this submission (wonder what the VO's opinion will be). Was planning to withdraw my application next week if my other plans scale through.

Will update the house upon receipt. Let's watch and see.

Submitted at Abuja VFS on 27th. Forwarded to Embassy/ High Commission on 30th July.

Oga, I'm not here to cause friction but to educate some who are following pack without a bit of research.
U.I is ranked between 801 to 1000th in the world, its ranking is higher than Griffith for example yet the tuition fee is 1/20th of what people are paying to attend Griffith. Only Trinity college Dublin has an impressive world ranking. The rest are not worth the tuition. Cork is also good but a bit over priced
I understand your point. Actually, I was concerned myself when I saw the rankings on webomatrics. In fact, I brought it the the attention of one of their education agents here who said it didn't matter. I am mature enough to know that everything matters so I didn't push despite believing otherwise. I noticed that I couldn't see the rankings on webomatrics for most schools in North America. One shouldn't be unmindful of several less reputable rankings flying around just as our Politicians are given awards by funny entities everyday. You have to be careful when interpreting rankings sha coz one Institution could be very good in one area but poor in others.

shocked It takes 2 to tango. If it happens, na both of una work. Perhaps hubby is also reporting similar fear about you elsewhere! Anyway, let the blessings come. If you are not planning to travel together, perhaps he's just trying to get enough soul food upfront to take him through your long period away. grin

I beg to disagree. Does he have a master's already?

A general note to all future and intending Irish students visa applicants, it is now a rule that accommodation must be sorted before applying for visa because most of the applicants refused visa recently were refused on the fact that their was no accommodation arrangement. This was never an issue last year and many of us got visas without it but some are not making it because of lack of accommodation arrangement.
Could it be as a result of discreet Account Balance check revealing insufficient funds to cover living expenses? Just wondering if the applicants drew down their account balance before visa was finalized.

Wait o, we need to be serious. This forum is a serious forum where we justapose ideas towards a successful visa application.
Somebody claimed that he/she did medicals about 13 months ago and has been adviced accordingly. Now, the person who claimed to do medicals 13 months ago is now asking WHAT DO THEY REALLY DO THERE?
No, they dance there
If you checked properly, you would have seen that I was the one that "claimed" -as you put it. Not rebeccausoro. Thanks.

Is it only IOM that is currently doing medicals in Abuja?

Abuja Clinics is currently not conducting medicals due to some ongoing upgrade.

Any other suggestions? Thanks

Lotusboi:
You need to redo your medicals. Medicals last for only a year i.e. 12 months, so since yours was done 13 months ago, the results would be invalid given that during the year you could have picked up a new ailment (God forbid tho), etc.
Hope that answers your question? Good luck, and Congrats in advance
Thanks a lot.

How long is medicals valid? Thanks

it brought out the fee $150 for me to pay. I haven't done Biometric before. Please what do i do in this case.
Frankly, I don't know what to do. Could you have missed ticking somewhere that you need to do biometrics?

While the gurus in the house may advise further, I think you can send an email to notify them about your situation.

Has anyone experienced this before? Suggestions needed.

Goodmorning Good people of Nairaland , am yet to be called for Biometric after applying on the 9th of August, i was charged $150 after i submitted my application, please i want to know if this is what everybody that submitted recently is charged cos it was more than this amount before. Please help a worried sister.
Seems you didn't pay for biometrics. Have you done biometrics recently before this particular application? I hear biometrics now last for a decade.

There's another 85 dollar fee which makes it about 235 dollars in all.
