Google play services needs to be updated first. Its on auto update by default and your phone can't download anything from play store if play services misses an update. Just leave your phone online for some time and it will update itself.this happens to phones that are kept offline for long periods.

I received the message just now too. and am gonna break my Airtel sim on that day! seems they are tired on getting about 4k from me monthly.

the phone is feature-stacked but come with a big hardware flaw, It's charging circuit ain't reliable, I have seen two instance in my neighbourhood where the phone won't charge. It's battery starts discharging when connected to power supply.
